Im not sure what seems to be the news on Jackson Martinez, but if the fee of 35 mill euros and the fact he is joining us is true, i would not be happy at all.

he is 29 years old, probably has a year or 2 at best and has not exactly blown teams away or caused a transfer market meltdown for his services.

this would be an act of desperation from Arsenal.

while i don't rate higuain any better, he may be the best option in this market.

wants to play champions league and we can afford his wages.

while i do think benzema is a better overall player i don't see him as attainable. Possibly Manchester United for him

Couldn't have put it better myself.

Benzema would be an excellent addition but the outlay that is being spoken about for Jackson Martinez just doenst sound like Wenger at all.

100% laker not for that coin same goes for higuian aswell. If we're going to spend that Coin then he has to be 25 years old and as good

Not that anyone should be surprised, but I suspect this story may be a complete lie, made up by some lazy journo? I know we have more money now, but if I was a journo looking to make up a complete fabrication, I would at least run something more feasible, perhaps by linking us with a striker nearer 20 than 30, which is far more in line with Arsene's historical transfer business compared to blowing £30 mil on a 29 year old......

Hence, my call for Charlie Austin :-)

Wouldn't be my first choice dags...but would certainly be no worse than spending more than double (even treble?) on a player who, with no disrespect to the Portuguese league(ok perhaps with a fair chunk of disrespect), is playing in an inferior league, and yet still has not set the world on fire. It seems to me that some people think these overseas based players are good based purely on the amount of times their name gets mentioned in the press, rather than on actually seeing them play at a top level week in week out. Whereas Austin is on full show every week, both good and bad, but at least he has shown he can cut it in the premier league.

I think Firmino would be a great addition, he has been tearing it up for Brazil. But seems M City have an edge.

I agree there are no attainable world class strikers in the market at the moment, i would opt that we get a young promising striker instead. Since no one here thinks Giroud is world class if we get a young striker and give him a chance if he preforms better than Giroud we have ourselves a top striker :)

Yeah portuguse leauge isn't up to much Epping but as far as setting the leauge a light he ripped it in Portugal mate banging them in for fun for the past 3 seasons. But the first point is the overriding factor portuguse leauge is full of teams like Leeds United
