Coquelin HAS earned his right to start ............full stop , he was superb last season and very much an unsung hero. Anyone signed will or should start as cover...............reason, Coquelin is now proven anyone from outside the PL won't be.

If Coquelin doesn't start then we are sending out the wrong signal to players.

I was championing le coq on here a long time before a lot of other people. Nothing means any player is or isn't a starter in every game except form, the problem comes when there is no credible competition for places, or strengh in depth, for me he is the only one capable of doing that job effectively. The others are either not good enough for title pushes or not holding mids in that ilk. Carvalho for instance could play with or in place of coq if needed. Arteta and flam are only Worthington mug standard now. Now attacking mids and creative we are stacked.

I think we were ruthless enough with cech, end of thr day if your going to stiffle young players, and just move them because someone else is there doesn't work. Carra made a great pt that mourinho may win titles but his teams will never be loved, how can u account for the fact that he dint play a single player frm the youth. It wasnt abt being ruthless it was more of him holdin on to his job. We shld stick
With le coq and promote the other kid or chambers to DM

Cech we know about to some extent Danny too because both have walked the walk in a premier league title side, Sanchez Mesut Kos were all pretty certain wouldn't look out of place in any title winning team but these apart everyone else we need to find out about, Lauren wasnt the world's greatest right back but he was good enough to be an invincible are Monreal Mertesacker Debuchy Belerin Ramsey Carzola Giroud Theo Ox and Le Coq?
We don't know but we need to find out.
What we do know with a certain amount of certainty is Gibbs Chambers Szczesney Artetta Flamini Rosicky are either not ready or past their best to play regularly in a title winning team but can if need be fil any gaps short term as and when needed.
We can't cover every base and every possible eventuality that may or may not crop up over a season but what we can do is put in our first serious challenge for years that may or may not be enough to win the league and judge and go from there.

I completely agree le coq did not just do a job, but rather he was excellent, one of the best DMs in the league last season I'd say. Yes, we need to sign someone for cover, but whoever it is I still say start le coq!

Hi Lyke this time last year I would have said neither Le Coq or Belerin were ready to play regularly in a title winning team but they changed my evaluation of their capabilities with their consistent performances, obviously I'd love Calum to do the same.
No sorry I'm not aware of the Rosicky situation but I'm guessing from what you put he wanted to leave but we wouldn't let him or something?
