I just don't understand how stones is worth 50million apart from being young i don't het it, can anyone enlighten me? Every time i have seem him play he was average at best. If you had 50 million to spend on a defender i could proberley list 30 to 40 i would rather have.

One of those things mate.

Everton weren't looking to sell him, he's young, English, decent on the ball.

Seems city REALLY wanted him and that just plays into Everton's hand.

I don't understand the transfer market. John stones is 22 and wasn't always in Everton starting 11 but £50 million. Progba £90 million. Holding 2 million elneny 5 million. Now there all young and very talented, but not sure the price gap is justified.

It's like a supermarket Mark.

If you buy a loaf of bread from Lidl, it's 50p

You buy the same, or similar loaf from Marks and Spencer, it's £1.75.

Your paying for the brand.

I'm not saying Holding is the same level as Stones, but it's a similar principle.

Both young, English CB's with great potential but not the finished article.

Difference is, Stones has played for a premier league team whereas Holding played for a recently relegated championship team.

I wouldn't give you 5 mil today for stones but that doesn't mean I don't think he might not turn out to be an accoplished defender. Just at the moment, an accident waiting to happen.

I guess, those players will probably be there highest shirt sales and how much money the can make of marketing the players name, where as holding and elnenny are not popular names on the back of shirts in China or America.

Im just not upset he's gone to city and not us. He would not have been an instant success here. I think it will be interesting how well he does at city, now and in the future.

He's perfect for peps game, as he would have been perfect for our game but that's mental money they've paid right there but again they've identified the player they want and they've gone out and got him. Shame we can't do the same tbh #gettingjealous : (
