Hi all,

Curious as to your thoughts on Reiss Nelson. I really hope he takes a step up, and builds on his progress from the weekend. Curious if you lot think he can make that next step.

{Ed014's Note - hi mate, it’s funny as Arteta has talked about him glowingly but I’ve always been a bit doubtful and when he came I said come on Nelson, “change my opinion”

He went a long way to do that but obvs one game doesn’t prove everything but if Saka’s out for a couple of games he won’t get a better opportunity.

The club is of the opinion he will make to the next level.

{Ed014's Note - that’s kind of how I read it Yard and I’d be more than happy if it turned out to be true.

It would be really great if he could provide real cover for saka. You could see in his interview it meant a lot to him after just expecting to sit on the bench. Couldn't have taken his opportunity better! Hope he really kicks on!

{Ed014's Note - hopefully Marquinhos steps up to so we have even more competition at the top end of the pitch.

The talent is obviously there. His footwork is brilliant and as a pure winger, as in right-footed right wing, we have a role for him. I think he needs a run of games to believe in himself, after so many stop-start moments in his career. He followed up the brilliant loan at Hoffenheim (for several months he was considered even better than Sancho by some in the Bundesliga) with a big tailing off by the end of the season, and then the disappointing spell in the Eredivisie. Arteta obviously believes in him but he'll be 23 soon and I think this is basically his last shot to make it at Arsenal.

It would be great if the Hale End could push out another success story.

I haven't seen enough of him to know, but like Mal, I would love to see another academy success.
