If Nick Hornby is correct then it's another big mistake from Emery.

This summer, however, is critical. My sources inside the club tell me that the decision to release Aaron Ramsey was down to Emery and Emery alone, and that the player was ready to sign a new deal. Emery took one look at him and decided, clearly, that he wasn't worth the money being offered.

Even this seemed exciting at the time, reminiscent of Wenger deciding that Paul Merson wasn't good enough for Arsenal and shipping him out. "Paul Merson! We love Paul Merson! And he's not good enough? Bring it on! " And Wenger did. Unfortunately, Emery took a second look at Ramsey and apparently decided that he was, after all, an important part of his plans and indeed, the business-end of the collapse began with Ramsey's season-ending injury in Naples. Unless Ramsey's replacement is at least as good, fans will quickly resent the loss of someone who could be frustrating, but whose two Cup Final-winning goals, and a decade-long commitment to the club, have earned him Official Club Legend status.

Why did he jump to such a quick decision on Rambo. 😡😡.

A player who is only ever available for Half a season SY? If you look at Aaron's league appearances each season over his Arsenal career it isn't good reading and certainly not someone you want to be paying way over the odds upsetting others fland putting pressure on the wage bill when he's only available for half the required period each and every season, for me this is a rare tick not a cross in Emery boxes.

Your ‘sources’ tell you? Or every major news publication that has written anything about Ramsey’s contract withdrawal because Emery didn’t want to keep him? Do me a favour. Sources.

SY you have to understand our scelticism, regardless of the content as soon as you start with "my sources inside the club" it just invites laughter. Give your opinion and leave it at that, don't dress it up as being some sort of prophecy.

Is SY not quoting Nick Hornsby when he says my sources?
I'm not sure myself but I guessed he must be because I've never heard SY make claims that seem exaggerated before and he's been posting for a few years now.
I know he's a Tory and drinks wine rather than beer but on the whole he's usually a pretty decent and honest bloke so I think something must have got confused in he's post somewhere, either that or he's had to much vino trying to console himself about Teresa May stepping down:-)

{Ed001's Note - I thought he was as well g62. It definitely seemed like he was just posting up what Hornsby had said, rather than suggesting he had sources himself.

Not being funny but it is exactly what Ed002 and myself had been telling you as well, that Emery didn't want him from the moment he stepped foot in the door.}

Hi Ed001 mate I'm glad you read it like that too, sometimes you've got to look at the poster and their usual nature to see past any misunderstandings and SY isn't given to making wild claims about himself but he does like to use quotes from others quite often.
Mate as soon as you said Emery wanted Ramsey out that was good enough for me, I've never known yourself to quote something as fact when it wasn't true, you are always quite clear in the difference between when you are giving your own personal opinion or when passing on actual knowledge and never shy to say " I don't know " when that's the case too.
I have my opinions like everyone else but when it comes to inside information I know zilch so when you share what you know with us then that is 100% good enough for me evetytime without fail mate.
After 7 years of using this site the credibility level is still 100% when it comes to reporting facts over fabrication and in my opinion there is no other football outlet, be it TV papers radio or social media that can get anywhere close to this site for reliability and credibility. A huge well done to yourself and all the Eds mate, that's some reputation you've built up and all you have to do now is maintain it, no pressure:-)

I think the words both Ed’s used 10 months ago was emery didn’t like his comportment.
