If he goes, and we get good money for him, it seems like exactly in our long-term vision to let him go and hold Saliba to his contract to start next to White, don't you reckon? Signed for 20m, sold for 40m, good business in my eyes.

Only have to do that a few times every few years to build ourselves back into real competitors like Liverpool and Chelsea have managed to do.

I have been thinking about this, as well, with the club strategy of buying young players especially in the same position it got to be part of their plans to develop and sell on, whilst still trying to be competitive. We fans have to see it has an alternative by the club to grow its balance sheet, but still remaining competitive without actually looking like a selling club.

Goal scoring CB, young and under contract. Not as relevant but also he is left footed so provides balance which seems important for most high level managers.
Anything less than £45M in the current market shouldn’t be entertained otherwise why sell at all he’s worth more with us.
