Morning fellow Goons

Transfers aside, can we all take a moment to appreciate young Willock and Nelson (even AMN! Bad mistake yesterday but still a young talent) . Personally I have been very impressed by Willock this pre-season. Especially yesterday, thought he was superb and looks ready to be implemented 'slowly' into the first team. I actually thought his brother was a better player a few years ago, and was disappointed when he left. However, his displays towards the end of last season and so far in this, he looks a real prospect. Hopefully Emery can continue nurturing him and he could be massive for the club in the next few seasons. Also Nelson, I was disappointed to see him loaned last season but that move looks to have matured him a lot. Not been as stand out as Willock, but still very impressed. Gets around the pitch very well and has begun tracking back. Still needs to fine tune his final ball in the final 3rd, but that's comes with games and learning from mistakes.

Personally I love seeing 'our own' coming through and and so hopeful these guys can make it. Gives other youngsters hope that they can achieve the same!

come on you gunners!

I definitely think we need to give our young players an extended run in there natural positions but not be precious about them where they are 25 years old and still only potentially good enough.
They certainly need a chance but equally they need to sink or swim just like at other clubs and not become a (he's Arsenal through and through) protected species as in the past.

Fully agree lefty. The season loan did Nelson good. He has strengthened up. Needs to play. Willock and Saka look superb.

G62 fully agree. They have earned their chance to show what they can do in the first team. And them being 'Arsenal through and through' will naturally make fans want them to succeed more. However the sink or swim measurement is a must. If after a couple of seasons they haven't proved to develop, akin to Walcott et al, then Emery will have to be ruthless. I have a good feeling about this group of youngsters though. They seem to have that something extra, that something special that we haven't seen for a while. Willock, Nelson, AMN, Sako, Nketiah. Great talents. We will be ever so lucky if half of them prove to be good enough to stay in the team for seasons to come.

Good post lefty mate, but you’ve got to mention saka, I know I’ve spoken about him the other day but I see a great player in the making. Willock and nelson been great and I like the fact nelson want to prove to others that he’s ready but hopefully he won’t try too hard and lose his focus on doing the right things.
