Have to love the irony of Palace fans crying "same old Arsenal, always cheating" when Zaha hits the deck every 5 minutes and their players saw 7-8 fouls go unpunished in a row. Pretty sure Ayew left one in on nearly every single member of the squad.

The contrast between our style of play now and under Emery is mind boggling. The only chances Palace really had were the wild deflection (probably a Luiz OG for me) and Papa's clearance off the line. Can anyone remember us looking this defensively solid in the last 12 years? Not me.

Regardless of what spot in the table we end up with, one thing you have to give Arteta is that he has seen and addressed our frailty at the back. I am impressed and excited for the first time in years.

There seems to be a better team spirit than I can recall for years too Wire.

I’m pleased you brought up the unpunished Palace fouls. I was astonished that no players were booked in the first half, when they fouled persistently. There was one incident when a Palace player pushed an Arsenal player into another Arsenal player, ending up with the pair injured on the deck. I think one of them was Torreira, who went off injured at half time. I thought the ref was poor, he was only going to book Aubameyang for the terrible foul that was quite correctly was amended to a red. I agree fully that Arteta is a breath of fresh air. He understands the problems and I believe in time he will rectify them. One other point, yesterday was not a day to play Ozil, he tried, but a windy day on a small pitch against a physical team wasn’t for him.

Top post Wire mate fully agree mate.
At last we have a coach who understands the value of being difficult to score past again and that is a really exciting prospect for us all, the players are obviously enjoying not going out expecting to get torn to shreds on the pitch and then again by pundits and fans after the game too, it's got to make going to work a much much more positive experience for the players when they no longer expect to be slated by everyone everywhere for thier collective performances week in week out.
