Hi fellow Gooners!
Haven't posted in more than two years, but have been reading consistently. Decided to come out of hibernation this season. How is everyone feeling going into the new season?

Depends on what happens by the end of the transfer window. I don't think our current squad will worry many and a top 8 will be on the cards.
Reading this morning that we are looking to loan Auoar which shows our decline- we shouldn't be loaning players.

I agree Glenn. I am concerned about attacking midfielder position. ESR is capable, but I feel he can't carry the team for a whole season. White, though good, should not have been a priority signing.

Im naturally excited for the season and cannot wait to cheer the boys on! I am concerned that we haven't invested where we need to as yet, but i'm optimistic with a few weeks of the window left. If the squad stays the same as it is now come Sept, I cannot see an improvement on 8th sadly. Back-up GK, creative CM, new RB and a new striker are absolute musts!
Whatever happens, nothing will dim my love for this club!

Thanks Ed014! This still remains the best place to discuss Arsenal football for me. I saw somewhere that last season, Arsenal amassed the second highest points tally in the second half of the season after Man City. So this means Arteta was p. poor in first half of season and then fantastic in the second half so I am keen to see which Arteta will show up.

Hi Ru good to have you back mate, being the skeptic that I am I have never bought into this 2nd half season runners up theory myself, but should this positive spin actually materialise into this season and we finish runners up over 38 games then I am very very happy to admit I was wrong not to see it before.
I just saw far too many half season stats used during Arsenes time that predicted great things ahead that as we all know never came anything.
For me it's all about this season and I will go ny what I actually happens in reality starting tonight, the proof of the pudding is in the eating as they say.

Hi Gunner62, indeed mate. There are no half races in football, we have to be in it for the full 38 matches. I am really doing my best to draw inspiration from any statistic at all so that I have hope
of sorts :)

Hey Ru mate, it's a brand new season and a completely fresh canvass for us and everyone else to paint this seasons masterpiece on, I'm sure at least one team will take everyone by surprise, Maybe Arsenal?
