According to Ornstein, Arsenal have approached Monchi for the Technical director role. would be brilliant if this happens.

He also noted that we are targeting 2 loan deals this month, with Denis Suarez being one. I wonder who the 2nd is, does anyone have any idea who the other one could be? He is a very reliable source and is rarely wrong.

Good Morning,

Various articles are publishing that Arsenal will make an approach to sign Gelson Martins on loan? Is this something that Arsenal are pursuing?

Many thanks.

was just about to ask this too. as the claim goes, that he was bought by madrid only to sell him for a quick profit. what say you Ed?

{Ed002's Note - Atletico need cash for another matter and that is why he is available. I am not sure they will be open to a loan if offered,}

Great result today and as everyone has been saying well played Kos . Two things can Guendouzi and especially Xhaka stop throwing themselves to the ground the refs are getting wise and whether right or wrong Laca seems okay with being subbed judging by his reaction. (And we did win ) COYG.

Was a great result and to be honest, we should be beating teams like Chelsea as we should have in the 1st game. difference was we took our chances. By playing Ramsey yesterday it just shows that Ozil is surplus to requirements and as much as Rambo’s fancy flicks wind me up, he played extremely well. One moment that really stuck in my mind, was PEA’s tackle on hazard, the grit and determination was then installed across the whole team. Onwards to Friday GOYG.

I don't often agree with Martin Keown but he couldn't of put it better if he tried. "That manager there is worth his weight in gold". Brilliant team performance today but a real shame to see Bellerin go down. Perhaps a RB as well as Suarez should be a priority this month if the club can get it done. Great result today, COYG!

Hi eds do you think in the summer there will be a lot of players moving on with a few coming in if so what position would you say I know cb must be one and maybe a back up keeper.

{Ed002's Note - It will be death ends tomorrow on CL qualification - but as I have said, GK, CB, CM, RW are the needs.}

Thanks Ed mate hope we can get it sorted who do you think will leave.

{Ed002's Note - Koscielny, Elneny, Petr Cech, Oezil ...

The sqaud will be very short this summer when the following leave or are likely to leave:
Cech
LIchsteiner
Jenkinson
Elneny
Ramsey
Welbeck
Ozil

In addition Holding will not fit to start the season.

That means that excluding young players we will down from the 25 players named on Arsenal's official site to only 18 players. Hence at least 4 or 5 signings must happen .

Ed, do you think emery could attract top talent at Arsenal if we a) get in CL and b) Europe.

{Ed002's Note - I don’t know what “top talent” means.}

Thanks for the info Ed.

Top talent for me is a player that leads by example, can single handedly lift a team and potentially win you a game. Examples would be Bale at spurs, Courtinho at Liverpool, hazard at Chelsea.

We had one in Sanchez cold mate but unfortunately he joined and left a little to soon.
If we still had Sanchez to play behind Pea and Lacasette and in front of Torreira and Guendouzi things would look a lot brighter.

Sanchez was past it when we sold him. I'd be surprised if he can put together a half a season of quality appearances anymore.

Ed, will Arsenal bid for Conor Coady? Thanks.

{Ed001's Note - not that I am aware of.}

Hi Eds,

When you mentioned that Arsenal would need a GK in the summer, did you know that Cech was retiring? That's some amazing foresight, I must say.

From your understanding of the Ozil situation, is it accurate to say that the club are trying to shop him this month but that the player is refusing to leave?

Lastly, with respect to Denis Suarez, are the two clubs at a standoff between loan vs outright purchase? Or do you think they are still negotiating to get this one over the line?

Thanks Eds, much appreciated.

{Ed002's Note - Yes, I knew Petr Cech would leave in the summer. I don't see Owzil refusing to leave - as I have said the difficulty is finding a buyer and the finances. The Suarez situation was held up by Arsenal wanting a loan with an option to buy and Barcelona wanting a loan with a commitment to buy.}

Cech was clearly leaving as Arsenal made no moves to extend his deal. In respect of Denis Suarez, presumably the club want to see how he gets on during his loan deal before committing to buying him in the summer. We are clearly becoming tougher in negotiations under the new regime. In addition, I am sure we need to clear out the likes off Ozil and Elneny to get the wages off our books and some income to offset against summer signings.

{Ed002's Note - No.}

Interesting insight Ed, I'd be lying to you if I said I wasn't worried about the state of the club.

The behind the scenes moves with Mislintat leaving and no money being available for the new manager to build his squad paint a pretty bleak picture.

Do you think we should be worried? Or do you think between Raul Sanllehi and Vinai Venkatesham that we are in a better situation than the past regime?

Penny for your thoughts.

{Ed002's Note - I would not worry about it.}

Mislintat leaving because of our financial position, seems like we are doomed.

Most reports say that he is leaving because he is not being allowed to grow his role into technical directorship, which Gazidis offered him on taking the job. Don't know where you got that other stuff but it sounds like nonsense.

Emery makes the comment that we won't buy this window and the media make mischief, their job is to get hits and it's in our best interests to remember the media simply can't afford for there to be no news for an hour let alone a day or a week.
How would sky fill their 24 hour rolling news if they had to stay within the boundaries of the truth.
Rob Holding is injured and Theo Walcott has left Arsenal stories get 00 viewers or readers.

Well according to Belgian media we have been offered Carrasco but can't afford him. Being reported on Sky Sports.

Ed002, is Sven Mtlintat leaving arsenal? So much going around about a breakdown in relationship with emery or Kroenke?

{Ed002's Note - Possibly. There was much discussion by someone from Bayern Munich explaining that they are keen to take Sven Mislintat shoulf he come available.}

Its rumour at the moment started by a dodgy rumour site. It spread on social media by people who came out and said, yes i heard that. Well if they did why did they all not say it in the first place. As yet and it may or may not change, nothing has been reported by more reliable media sites or reporters.

{Ed002's Note - I have just explained what someone from BM said this morning.}

Thanks Ed, can you say why he’s leaving please?

{Ed002's Note - I don't know that he is leaving - I ghave explained what I know.}

If he wants to leave already then it shows how bad things really are behind the scenes! The guy can’t do his job unless he’s backed which he clearly hasn’t been. It’s amazing how we are in such a bad place financially when our owner is worth €7 billion.

A we don't know he's leaving
B we don't know why he's leaving even if he is leaving
If true and it's an absolute huge IF there could be numerous reasons from football to personal reasons that are totally devoid of football.
Sometimes it's better to take a step back and wait and see before playing the blame game on something that is very possibly yet another hit seeking totally unfounded rumour.
Artetta Higuain Benzema the list is endless.

Gunner ornstein is reporting it too and i am afraid it is happening.

Of all the guys who gazidis employed before he left, it is sven i have been most impressed with. Apparently there is is power struggle between raul and sven. If i was Arsenal, i would pick sven. This man has contacts even as far as japan, has strong connections in the german and french markets which produce many talents, why lose him when we don't have much cash and we don't want to migrate from our self sustaining policy? Why?

It is chaotic at arsenal and i am really unhappy with the direction sanllehi is taking arsenal.

Let's wait and see Punnai mate, I never bought the Artetta story and I'm not buying this one because it simply looks so much like trouble stiring from top to bottom.
If every one was buzzing and we were top of the league wed be getting Mbappe stories but because we've hit a lull stiring up more concern is the easiest way for the journalist to make a lazy crust.

It is not a rumuor gunner. The very reliable honigstein and ornstein are reporting it. It is happening, sven is leaving.

The implications are horifying. How will Arsenal get back to the top when we let go off the best scout in the world and have no money to spend?

I am afraid we will go downhill from here unless we find an equally capable replacement.

From what Ormstien says there is frustration from Sven over lack of money to buy his targets but there is no fall out between the back room staff.
Imagine if every time some one became frustrated it meant they were about to throw the towel in, new marriages would be over within a day, new jobs would be quit within an hour and all supermarket shopping would be abandoned half way round the store at the first sign of anything going up in price or being out of stock.
Really does sound like gossiping neighbours over hearing part of a conversation and telling the whole street their opinion as fact.

ive read that Sven is frustrated with the board as it was supposedly agreed that he would be made "technical director" if the job role was ever created by the club. However, Edu appears to be taking this role, leading to Svens frustration. Not sure if this is true but I doubt if Sven left it would be to due to financial constraints - he must of known that there wouldn't be hundreds of millions to spend on players, which is why he was probably brought in in the first place! (to sign quality, unknown players for cheap)

Very true CB but I can see how he'd possibly be upset with no money at all being available in the January window, it's got to be frustrating to plan for months spot targets and see them go elsewhere but in my opinion that doesn't have to mean he's ready to walk.
I don't know about the Edu situation and maybe there is some truth in it but it wouldn't be unusual for a journalist to put 0 and 0 together and come up with a story that earns them lots of £s.
The problem is there are so many false stories now days it's getting impossible to take any but a select few journalist seriously about anything they report, which is a shame for the few remaining good ones.
