Anyone notice the U21 Premier league table. Spurs top on 19 points and we are second bottom on 7. What does that say about our youth policy? Not great.

Jonathan

Believable7 Unbelievable1

Think you will find 2nd from bottom is not the worst, so kinda like winning a trophy

1404 {Ed027's Note - U21 is just a reserve league, you should look at the Next Gen and U18 league, to make statements about youth

Agree15 Disagree0

Means nothing, I mean if we had a good youth squad would most of you look forward to any of them playing in our first team? I think not because all I see is if it's not a so called expensive big name then the now famous moan crops up

Agree4 Disagree1

Crap have two players who can play U21 making the first team this year. Arsenal have six bad youth policy?

Agree1 Disagree1

How was that me making statements about youth? the only statement i've ever made about youths is to our local police woman about what little ******* they are round my way

Malaga Gooner, stop moaning mate, you're the reason most people on here are angry. I for one use to like your posts as you added much needed excitement, but your posts now are just downright stupid. Please, consider what you have written before posting it.

Yours faithfully,

Hi eds.
A bit off the arsenal subject.

Any whispers of players heading To Bayern Munich to team up with Guardiola?
Was there any genuine interest from us for Luis Gustavo?

Thanks {Ed027's Note - Guardiola wants a new striker, likes of Suarez, Cavani all mooted, a new CB is on the list, don't know any names, though Hummels could happen, as he is from there, in terms of players leaving Van Buyten, Pizzaro, Tymoshuck are all definately on their way, everyone elses future is uncertain

Anyone see Zaha tonight, how the Fu. k did Wenger miss out or think that he is not good enough. This is another example of his judgement going. It's time for a change! {Ed027's Note - he is not worth 15m+, i'm glad we 'missed' out,

So you are saying that Ferguson can't pick a player, look at his past and present teams, winners with flair. Today's prices are high I agree but if you want to win things you have to invest in talent, and the lad certainly has that.
We need to move with the times and invest in the team or we will still win nothing!

Agree3 Disagree2

Zaha cost £10.3m according to Ed002.

Wenger is a genius. He saw a worrying trend that our best players were being taken from us so he devised a genius strategy - develop such mediocre players that top teams will stop poaching them. It seems to be working as no one seems to want to buy most of players
Bendy
Arshavin
Denilson

.

Jack is the only one they might want :p

In Wenger we trust!

Believable7 Unbelievable11

Ash, I've read a few of your posts, and i'm not sure what you feel should be our end goal?

Regardless of how you feel of Arsene, I find it unnecessary to critique if one cannot propose a solution.

At the end of it all Arsene has been a fantastic ambassador for our club.

His place at this time can be questioned but to do so on such an obvious level is not fair to such if not the greatest Gooner!

Ed027 do you rate Amorebieta? We're linked with him at the moment as I'm sure you know. He looks to me to have the physical presence we need but seems clumsy and I'd be interested to see what you're opinion is? Thanks buddy

Fab {Ed027's Note - sorry i have'nt seen enough of him

A bit of a worry for me that a southern based Manchester United armchair supporter is being given the top job at the FA. Greg Dyke. Wont expect any bias from an ex tv man. Yeah right. The tv love man utd. The self proclaimed biggest club in the world (even though they went 27 years without winning the title and were relegated in 1975)will surely benifit from him at the helm. and before anyone jumps in with a comment. I don't for one moment think Arsenal are bigger than united. Their record over the last 20 years has been second to none. km.

Greg Dyke is being lined up to be the new Chairman of the F A. another southern based Manchester United armchair supporter. As much as I would love Arsenal to have won as much silverware as them. 19, so to be 20 titles and 3 E

Time to look at players who have caused us problems in the past, Essien would be a fantastic signing for us, he would allow our creative players to push forward, while giving stability to the defence, Wenger could do a lot worse in the next transfer window. Southen Red.

So that's Drogba signed up then!

Whenever I read Gunners4Life's opening line of "Greetings and salutations", a picture of Terry Thomas, one of our greatest actors, springs to mind.

His posts, whether you agree with them or not, are the most articulate on here. I always have a dictionary to hand to look up some of the words he uses.

So as this is a banter site (and international weekend) we have time to digress.

How about some suggestions as to who some of the posters on here remind you of.

Let's make it funny and not a slagging match.

Much appreciated mate. I agree there are some fantastic posters on our site!

Cheers for the acknowledgement!

Personally, whilst appreciating the aforementioned Gunners4Life, I am most often delighted by the posts of the one who signs off as CECEGUaW. He appears at once knowledgable, insightful, erudite and an all-round top-hole Gooner. Let us hope we see more of his output on this splendid site.

Have you guys noticed that almost evey player of big interest to Arsenal in a transfer window, has signed for Arsenal in the future transfer windows? Chamakh, Mertesacker, Poldi, Vermalen, Arshavin and so on. I will believe that Fernando Amorebieta is a subject of transfere to us in the summer. An Ass-Kicker which would scare the sh*t out of any attacker. H's I Mertesacker on steroids and adrenalin.

Lets get behind AW as he wants to sort his house out:

"According to the Daily Telegraph, Wenger ordered his defensive players to take part in extra defensive drills following the north London derby defeat. As most will know by now, the manager like to run possession-based group sessions.

But the Telegraph point out it was Wenger - not Steve Bould, not Neil Banfield, not Boro Primorac - who requested the defensive players take part in extra sessions and took charge of the routines himself, aided by his assistant manager and two first team coaches.

Whatever has happened on the training pitches at London Colney has obviously worked. Two clean sheets cannot be grumbled at. And long may it continue. "

quite annoyed to see hardly any 1 stick up for METAL GOONER. he has helped build the arsenal page over the last couple of years. he was 1 of the originals that would post constantly.
to say he's not a gooner is a disgrace.

have a break mate never say never.

If you really are Malaga then register and log in. {Ed029's Note - It is Malaga mate.}

Agree2 Disagree6

As a long time poster Metal should not be so immature about a few rogue comments.

His overreaction was too bad really, as he was a major part of this site.

But to pull the "storm off into silent treatment" move is just childish.

You can't please everyone with your views Metal, now come back and start contributing again.

At least metal gooner signed his posts.

I don't sign because I don't see it necessary. My comments and opinions are those of a mere single gooner whose ego isn't that large.

We will have a chance to see Jovetic as he is going to play for Montenegro against England on tuesday. Apparently they are going to have the pitch in very poor condition and put a lot of water on it. Also they are supposed to be a very physical team so I hope walcott and chamberlain will be ok.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

21 Mar 2013 01:03:03
Podolski for striker with giroud. Ox and walcott as wingers. Jack and caz. in the middle.
4-4-2 awesome. Except our defence is no that good

Believable5 Unbelievable12

No defence will be good when you play with two strikers and one winger who wants to be a striker too, and two CMs that prefer attack than defence. That will leave the defence a bit lonely when the other team attack.

Agree6 Disagree2

I totally agree with poldi up front along side giroud, think it would benefit them both greatly. I disagree with your choice of wingers as both are far better employed in the middle. I think we are berift of wingers something arsenal use to have an abundance of. As for the defence stability and experience is most needed.

Agree2 Disagree0

The poster of this is obviously 16 and knows nothing about football playing with six attacking players and no defensive midfielders.

RVP was bought to give fergie instance sucess over the next few years before he retires.

I think arsenal will do the same in an attempt to keep wenger. Wenger will do it to prove he is a top manager.

One way or another arsenal do not win anything, wenger when his contract ends will walk away.

Arsenal only win trophies with 4-4-2. To win with this way u need a brilliant defensive line (hence wenger winning so many trophies early). His constant mistake is not to get this fixed each year and instead employing 4-5-1 as he has no faith in his defence.

Nacho is a good start for the injury prone gibbs. let's hope he can do this for the others in defence

Certainly I think there is a big summer clearout. let's hope he can get rid of the likes of bentdner/denilison/chamak/sagna (i like him but think he is past it) etc

Believable9 Unbelievable1

We must not forget that Wenger is much younger than Ferguson. I think he have more to give, I hope too for good summer and then good season, but after that I also hope that he will continue his contract with the club!

BGGGOONER

Agree4 Disagree0

No faith in his defence or his goal keeper, RVP to Manchester United for short term success, Cech to Arsenal for short term success, build a team from the back, get that right and then the atacking players can flourish. Southen Red.

Greetings and salutations my fellow Gooners,

Wow, has the landscape changed dramatically both on the pitch and on the site!

Perhaps dramatic is a bit over the top, nevertheless I find myself as I have the entire season optimistic about our chances to finish in the top 4! While I will not be as bold as some and claim that we can finish 2nd I believe outside of the United game we have an opportunity to run the table.

Some hot topics:

1. Schezny - Great young keeper, passionate and protective father. He will be just fine, in fact I like Fabianski taking over and commanding his back line, perhaps this will resonate with our young Polish keeper.

2. Wilshire - Not sure if he's brittle, or is still young and his body is adapting to the rigors of the sport. If he's hurt then c'est la vie, his long term health is of utmost importance. If healthy I believe he needs to be given the armband next season.

3. Carzola - Played in the middle he looks the part, sheer class, as a winger he's serviceable. I think Wilshire's injury may be a saving grace in our season.

4. Kos The Boss - He has made the occasional howler in his time with us but I still believe he is our best central defender and I believe the best partnership we currently have resides with Merts.

5. TV5 - I think personally he needs to be sold or accept that he may not be in the starting 11. If its the latter I won't complain as we lead the world in injuries.

6. Sagna - Thank you for the service, enjoy Paris!

7. Walcott - Make us believe again, we did our part, we paid you, now its time to do yours!

8. Giroud/Arteta - Unsung heroes this season for me, both are constantly being replaced on such sites, but I would hate to see just where we would be if they didn't play game in game out this season.

9. Rosicky - Arsene let him run, sheer class, I hope we retain his services regardless of the injury record.

10. Podolski - Arsene I see why he is deployed on the wing but sometimes let him run up front, boy can finish!

11. GB Core - Ramsey, Chamberlain, Gibbs and Jenkinson, our future looks bright with you four lads.

Lets finish the season strong, loud and proud!

Gunners4Life, In AW we trust!

Believable18 Unbelievable2

Agreed on most of this. Disagree on Arteta. I think he's good but not right as the most defensive player in our squad. I don't quite see the need for him, Rosicky and Ramsey in the squad. Even though I rate them all I'd ditch one of them (probably Rosicky)
