Clubs will have an extra two days to complete their summer business with the window closing at 2300 BST on Monday, 2 September.

So as opposed to the 31st of August 11 pm, we will buy players on the 2nd of Sept after 11 pm.

Ash

1.) Why is this happening? Is this for real?

Goose

2.) Same rules every year - as 31st is a Saturday, it closes on the first working day after the 31st which is Monday 2nd Sept

SY4

3.) Are you sure about this? I thought transfers could still go through after the deadline as long as the clubs agree a fee and have it in writing (usually fax!) BUT the paperwork can be completed later.

Does that make sense?

ARE YOU READING THIS GONZALO? Lol

cammy out!

xx

4.) This is a fact-= window closing 2nd sept.

Paris St-Germain are confident of hiring Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger as their new manager this summer with Carlo Ancelotti expected to become Real Madrid boss.

. YES!

Ash

1.) When wenger leaves unless we get someone truly exceptional you will regret his departure and see how truly exceptional Mr Wenger is.

JackGooner

2.) I agree, lots of people will be upset when he leaves. I love him, best manager

-Homesick-

3.) Give him the money he deserves to spend on players

Keep Wenger as you don't realise how lucky we are to have him

SY4

4.) We need some fresh talent on the pitch, not a new manager! If AW was that poor then why the hell would PSG be after him! We have money to spend this summer, so let's see what happens! If Arsene stays, but we fail to improve the squad then we can all judge! He has kept our heads above water for the last 8 years. No trophies is painful, but top four every year when the board keep selling your best players is admirable! In Arsene (not the board) I trust!

Fraz c

5.) Wenger has the tactics and the style we play can beat any team in the world. With 8 painful years without a trophy is bad for a World Class team. But I can't see any manager (other than Guardiola) to be the perfect manager for the club. Arsene has a fantastic philosophy. If we spend money on 4 world class players then I don't think anyone would be able to beat us. Especially as we have proven ourselves, like beating Bayern etc.

6.) 30 Apr 2013 21:55:02
He's never broken a contract and I don't see him starting now. Our board should be negotiating a new deal with him now.

7.) It would be nice to see new management with more hunger for honours (and less interest in bookkeeping) even if it means a few years when the bhaji hits the fan!

I hear some North Koreans think that the Kim dynasty is the best thing which has happened to them and if they are desposed it will be the end of the world.

Wenger has given us a good platform but he has show he can offer no more.

8.) Nonsense! Wenger will stay. I even think he will renew his contract soon. Noone can do a better job than him at this club! And Ancelotti has revealed in an interview that his links to real are nonsense.

AustrianGunner

9.) Better the devil you know.

10.) Some devil he turned out to be. miser.

11.) What do you mean 'YES!' are you high?! wenger is a brilliant manager!

forgive me if your a PSG fan. as anyone would be happy to have wenger as there manager.

12.) I meant Yes, as in I am happy if he leaves. If he is going to do the "same crap" this summer and next season then enough is enough, he should leave.

Wenger has reduced me to tears :(
Been hoping for the last 6 years now that he is kicked out of leaves but.

Wilshire poor decision making. Missed a sitter and then over tried trying to compensate for it, holding the ball needlessly for too long.

Form is temporary
Forth place is permanent.
Things we learned:
Wenger outwitted by Jose yet again.
Cesc still better than all of our mid and is getting unbelievable assists.

Had enough of the professor. Ozil et al are just not delivering.

Ash

1.) I totally agree with all but the last line Ash.
Ozil on the wing is 0% of the player he really is for us but in the middle he's the king of assists still and 75% of what he can be, as for Arsene he's going no where in the next few years whether we like it or not

2.) Agree with all and say that Ozil isn't delivering. Others are but are being let down by players who aren't playing well. You can't carry players in the PL!

3.) Wenger out. Anyone who thought we would go there and get something is mad

4.) Maybe it is time to cash out on Mesut for 30mil and buy a couple of grafter like wide players like James Milner, just such a shame it will probably come to that as signing him was the most exciting thing that's happens to us in years that night on deadline day

5.) We're in the same position neways. Why do all these players get rewarded with new contracts, mad wage top ups, for this dross. we're turnin into a joke. Joey Barton got it right. Mourinho's got wenger on toast. I'm throwin mine in the bin.

i hope Arsenal bid 41 mil for Suarez, much easier to type that 40,000, 001. Think about the web real estate it will save over the years.

I love it how Arsenal start each season at the top of the table. Then the decline sets in when the games start :)

So will all the buisness be done at 11pm on the transfer deadline day as usual or will we make early signings and allow players to settle down in our setup during the pre-season. Only time will tell, hope Wenger learns something and doesn't make the same mistakes just to save some money.

Also all our A list of targets are being wooed by the usual crowd, so it will have to be the B listers then? Wish Wenger had the talent to unearth someone who hits the ground running (TV5 did it to some extent). The good news is that atleast some of the deadload is offloaded (contract ran out).

Ash

1.) Of course our A list targets are being wooed by others, not as if they're some mystery talent only we know about. Problem is Arsenal now has a reputation as pennypinchers who do not pay up for talent and conspicuosly fail to buy top talent. Compare that to teams bursting with strength and depth, showing ambition in transfers and you have to ask what we offer to lure top talent to come to us? The answer is not very much unfortunately, yes come to us and compete for the 4th place trophy?

2.) True, first we are not the most attractive club to come to, on top of that we still try to nickle and dime the seller club resulting in what we are all are all too familiar with - missing out time and again.

Where would we even play him?
Who would sit out. Ours has become the hottest mid in the world. Santi Ramsey Coq Rosciky Ozil Chambo and that fast kid from sunderland

Southampton would finish higher than us, doubt if anyone will move this way anymore :)

It could be the same scale as Van der Saar signing by Man Utd.

No kidding, most of us have been saying the same thing for the last 5-8 years but nothing really happened. It is going beyond frustrating.

depressed.

Ed, can you start an Arsenal cribbing page too :(

Because he thought he will get him for cheap, that's not happening now and we are moving into crazy money land (poor attempt to appease the fans but I will take it :-))!

Ash

He was a mess, made good runs but always played a touch too many and couldn't finish anything. He was played in the wings largely and didn't really do much there too.

Thanks god for Roma (we got 8 mill, that's a surprise!).

The criticism is that we are just aiming for the 4th position and no higher. Wenger is scared to spend and challenge for trophies and is complacent in this gettign the 4th place trophy every year.

Why shouldn't we be in the mix for winning something every year? Is 8 years of drought acceptable performance?
