I made love to Kylie Minogue last night, there are 2 things you need to know.

1) She is so damn sexy

2) I am not allowed in Madame Tussauds again.

That's right G62, bring out the super gunners! Wenger should keep Santi in the linkup tomorrow as he looked sharp against west ham. Jack may come back in for Ramsay now with the injury. Let's see, Wenger knows and we're starting to have options again. Just need the Ox back now.
We are Arsenal!
WE are pace, precision
grace and ability.
We are coming to get you City!

So just as 2013 is about to wave us good bye city hit the top spot and look all set to begin 2014 as league leaders!
They are gathering pace like a locomotive out of control

BUT WHO COULD POSSIBLY STOP THEM?? the people asked.

Chelski! no its to big a job for them said a sad voice

LIVERPOOL cried out one hopeful voice, no they look good but I'm afraid this is beyond even them now, was the sad conclusion.

Then just as all hope seemed lost a loud proud voice broke the despairing silence with a cry of, THERE'S ONLY ONE THING TO DO PEOPLE WE NEED TO SEND FOR THE SUPER GUNNERS

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Lol, love your optimism G62.

Evening Gunners.

The games are coming thick and fast now and tomorrow is a big one again. It's annoying to see City at the summit as they rode their luck in the 2nd half today against Palace. But they have wrestled themselves to the top and it's important that tomorrow we win and get back in front of them again. Winning away at St. James would be both a statement and huge boost psychological boost too. - It'll put us in such a strong position going in to the new year. I think we can do it because whilst Newcastle have quality they are susceptible to just being outplayed/outclassed by us as I think both teams will attack and go toe to toe , playing attacking styles. If we defend like we have all season (bar the city game) and take a few chances we should win and win well. I'm looking forward to good clean footballing game. Wenger will rotate again and Podolski/Walcott/Giroud look full of goals. Giroud won't be far off 20 goal in all comps this season. That's good. We're looking good but tomorrow is a big one for belief and confidence and to knock the confidence of other teams and the doubters.
C'mon lads. Get the 3 points!
p.s. just wanted to know people opinion of Ballotelli. I know he may not be available and it's quite an unlikely move to Arsenal but what he offers purely in footballing terms I think he is just what we need in the squad. If he could sort himself out he has all of the ability to amazing in the premier league. We need a player like him I think.?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Good post Leegun, very good.

Balotelli? Nah, not for me. i'm not too sure why but I just don't like the bloke, not personal reasons, but footballing reasons. If he turns up and wants to play football, he's a world beater, but when he has an off day, jeez he sucks bigtime.

Would prefer somebody with less attitude, Loic Remy for example, who I think would consider it an honour and a privilege to wear an Arsenal shirt.

Superb result against the Hammers, its a funny league this year isn't it!, everyone is taking points off each other, My prediction against Newcastle is, 2-1 to us.

Re Ramseys recent performances, ditto for Giroud, and a few others all tired, mentally and heavy legged. Arteta is often under pressure in the middle as well.
Santi, is getting back to the pace of our game, he showed that in glimpses against the Hammers. Olli Giroud would throw himself on a bed of glass for the cause, we love him because of that, however, he certainly isn't a Suarez ( yet), for me, I see our main problem as having a consistent striker, one who can beat the last man, Theo can do that and often does from wide, the Ox can as well, Poldi is neat, Olli Giroud struggles to beat the last man, hence him effectively being a target man, we do not have a striker who, gets hold of the ball and you know its a goal, Suarez is one of those players, so, in my mind we don't need another midfielder, centre back left of right back, what we really need is a striker with turn of pace, one who can beat the last man, after all we often have the box full of midfielders that's our missing link. that's what we need

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Do you think that would require a change in formation as Giroud is used to bounce passes off for midfield as well as pulling the centre half out wide to create space for Theo /Pod

Could we achieve this with Theo and Pod playing in the front three with Giroud?

Leaving Flamini or Arteta with Jack or Rambo or Rosicky and Santi or Ozil to rotate for the 4 3 3 formation

Agree0 Disagree0

I would go
Flamini
Arteta. Jack
Carzola
Theo. Pod
Giving Olly and Ozil a breather unless needed

Agree0 Disagree0

I would think that with Theo back and the Ox coming back we could play the same formation with Giroud up top and Theo or the Ox cutting in from the wings to (when necessary) get behind the defenders. You are right olly does not have the pace to seriously worry many PL defenders (terry, of course, excluded).

I think that pace was missing a bit from our game previously and the opposition could play further up the pitch and congest the midfield so Ozil, Santi, Ramsey, Rosicky, Arteta and Jack did not have as much time in possession, but with Theo back and the Ox coming back, we could invite that game plan and have Theo or the Ox run onto passes behind the defence (a bit like van persie used to feed theo with when he would draw the defenders and theo would time a diagonal run from the wing to the centre of the pitch and be free on goal).

At the same time, we have enough skill to hurt any team that gives our midfielders time on the ball and with Theo and the Ox the opposition would have to play deeper or allow Theo and the Ox acres of space to exploit with their pace. (So win win really: play us tight and we will whip the ball behind your high line, play us deep and we will pass our way through your team [so long as we can convert our chances]).

I still think a striker should be a top priority in January (as Giroud is knackered [and I appreciate every minute of his blood sweat and tears approach] and NB52 is not a viable second option [seriously, we are chasing the title and NB52 is a vagrant's Giroud; he offers us nothing that Giroud does not and in shorter supply]).

I think Arsenal should look for a pacier, trickier, and more clinical forward than Giroud to give us a different look for certain games and come on in a tight game and turn the tide. I think Olly should and would remain a vital part of this team as his work rate and ability to bring others into play is very under-appreciated by some but not by Wenger or his teammates.

That said, I think there are other areas (that after striker) should be strengthened. A centreback (cover for Per) and another right back (if Sagna is not going to extend his contract as I do not think Bellerin or Jenko are ready for primetime) and maybe another pivot / holding midfielder as Arteta and Flamini are not spring chickens (more a signing for 1-3 years time).

Maybe better cover for Chesney as well (although he has played well this year).

My two cents.

Onwards and upwards Gooners!

Excellent test tomorrow for the squad

We have had a poor run of results, not played great, few players missing and a few a little short of match fitness while some are on their knees/low in confidence

Newcastle just had a great result plus a few other good results in last 4 games. On top of thst its a difficult place to go

This really will tell us a lot about the team. We need 3 points. Champions would get 3 there tomorrow. If we believe we are - then a win it must be. If you don't beleve so, sit on the MOTD couch with your friends!

Come on you Gooners! Per and Giroud to bag a goal a piece and Theo to wrap it up and put a bow on it.

1 : 3 win to the Arsenal with Flamini back in the mix as well as Arteta to dominate the midfield.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Would love Giroud to get a hatrick tomorrow although he most probably won't, but he may well have a big hand on someone else getting one though

Agree0 Disagree0

Tough place to go to, plus they are probably the in-form team at the moment.
Realistically, think its going to finish 1-1, Giroud to score.

Agree0 Disagree0

A draw would be a very decent result no question DG but because we only took 5 points from 15 against Everton, Liverpool, utd, Chelski and city I do think we have to step it up in games like this to stay in the hunt.
OK we may do better in the return fixtures with our closest rivals but just in case 3 points to tomorrow would Be a big bonus as others will drop points against Newcastle no question

Agree0 Disagree0

G62, absolutely agree. The Everton and Chelsea results have let us down and we have dropped points.
Newcastle away is a must-win but I think we will get a draw mate.

Eds probably a stupid question but you never know!
Would you know if any of the Arsenal players look at this site?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I don't know about any players from Arsenal but I am aware of a couple of other members of Arsenal staff are aware of it. The site has been shown to a number of players from other clubs though.}

A former arsenal players son uses this site

Agree0 Disagree0

Any from Liverpool Ed?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I don't know about this particular site, but I know a few current and ex-players who look at the Liverpool site.}

Ha! Malaga pretending he knows! Always makes me laugh

Agree0 Disagree0

A lot of people who know people who know other people who have connections to the club deffinately use this page, especially in he summer and around January :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Paul,
Malaga does know certain things, some of which come off and some don't. Doesn't mean he can't be right.
I am sure Wenger could post on here and his targets would not materialise all the time

LMFAO
Ill give u this Charlie at least your consistent!

Really there must not be single person on here that believes your nonsense now, but u do persist!

Tomorrow will be a tough game that's for sure, they have turned their season around brilliantly.
A point would be a decent result but given the fact we are struggling to get much from our really big games at the moment we have to get all 3 points in games like tomorrow to really put in a challenge.

Hopefully we regain our self belief in the city Utd Chelski matches before to long but until then we can still mount a very good challenge as long as we keep excelling else where.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Very tough G62, would settle for a point mate.

Big fan of Giroud and Theo (even MOTD seem to be praising Theo!)

We really do have a decent squad now with options. 2 more players could see us pick up silverware

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Personally, I think Giroud should be our Plan B and we should be going all out to get a Plan A, i.e. Suarez, Costa, Lewandowski, someone of that calibre. Also, if Giroud could work on his finishing then he would be up there, he just lacks that killer instinct just now.
