16 million for Welbeck. Deary me!

G95

1.) Why ya moaning he's better than what we've got

{Ed025's Note - true lewy..

2.) 01 Sep 2014 21:51:56
Young English striker - reasonable price and low risk to adapt to premiership

Not unhappy with this bit of business but need CDM and CD to complete squad

3.) Might get some grief for this but I think Welbeck could be a good signing give him a chance before you get on his back

4.) 23, proven Premier League and Champions League experience. England International. What's not to like?

Ed002,

Is there anything in the rumour that Ateltico may look to Monreal if they don't get Moreno?

Thanks!

G95

{Ed002's Note - I understand that there is.}

1.) 23 Jul 2014 19:11:21
I hope so. Don't rate him at all.

2.) Thanks Ed.

Any indication of who we would look to should he go?

{Ed002's Note - Not really, there was some interest in Rojo be he is in talks with another side right now.}

3.) Do you know if arsenal will look to replace or promote a youth player? Don't know if that's the kinda thing u would know lol

{Ed002's Note - No idea.}

4.) There was me thinking u knew all ed lol. Thanks anyway

Ed002,

I read somewhere that Monreal may seek a return to Spain to improve his chances of regular football and to improve the chances of regaining a place in Spain's national squad.

Is this true and if so, who would you expect Arsenal to look to?

Thanks in advance!

G95

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of him looking to leave. I am only aware of one left back being looked at and that won't happen.}

1.) Thanks Ed.

2.) Purely out of curiosity, who is the one left back and why will it not happen?

{Ed002's Note - Erkin - he has signed a new contract.}

3.) Ed is it fair to say that the Aurier deal is a 'done deal'? And also, what clubs are we currently in discussions with in relations to a player?

{Ed002's Note - No, it is not a "done deal".}

04 Jun 2014 23:15:51
The Ox injured already before the WC has even started. Can't wait to see how many more come back injured. Thank god Rambo isn't there.

Ed,

If one of our centre backs were to leave (Vermaelen), would we look to replace him and if so, who with?

Thanks!

G95

{Ed025's Note - definitely G95, who would replace him would be a guess mate..maybe bruno martins indi mate..

1.) BMI is rumored to be going to UTD

which is a shame, I think he's good enough for a starting place in most prem teams, and could be a natural understudy to Mert, however I think he needs guaranteed staring 11 football

2.) Ed, is the interest in Kouyate real, or media fabrication?

{Ed002's Note - Arsenal remain interested in Kouyate after following the player last summer. Southampton were previously interested but went for Lovren. His agent says that West Ham and Galatasaray are also interested.}

The league is done. We are done. Spurs will finish above us and will potentially win the league.

Time for Arsene to go. Time for a revamp of the squad. I'm done with this team, done!

Our usual November implosion has been pretty spectacular this year! Poor results, our usual mountain of injuries, where do you start?!

It all comes back to our absolute horror show of a summer transfer window. Not one single outfield player bought. Not one! And boy is it coming back to bite us.

We have to rely on Sanchez to the point where he plays with a tight hamstring because we don't have any other forwards of that class. You can rely on Welbeck, Walcott or the Ox to stay fit, Giroud will give you a decent run every now and again but nothing spectacular which leaves us totally reliant on Sanchez. If we had signed a top forward in the summer, it would have eased the burden on him and allowed him to have an extended rest. Did we do that? No.

It's the exact same with Coquelin. We are over reliant on him to the point where he gets injured and we look an absolute shambles defensively! He needed help, he was always going to need help. Cazorla is never a centre midfielder either. He gets away with murder in our team, his lack of physicality and defensive awareness costs us dearly! Again, we could've purchased someone for that position but no, we failed to do that as well.

As immense as Koscielny is, it's becoming harder and harder to rely on him staying injury free! Per is done at this level, he should've been shown the door this summer and replaced with a top quality centre back. Gabriel is looking more and more of a bomb scare every time I see him play with Per. Koscielny calms him and complements him well but next to Per, they both look so shaky!

For me, we are 2 top quality centre backs, a top quality, physical number 8, a defensive midfielder to aid Coquelin and a world class forward to take the pressure off Sanchez, away from the title.

G95

{Ed025's Note - thats a good read G95, and i agree with a lot of it mate..

1.) 29 Nov 2015 20:02:01
I agree on everything we're lacking, though i think you're being a bit harsh on Gabriel, he'll be class once he doesn't have to worry about covering his own plus Per's space, it took Kos nearly 2 years to learn that skill.
A lot of people won't like this and to be honest I'm not bothered whether they do or don't but, get Arsene out of this club asap as while he is here we will not address the glaringly obvious problems we have, replace Per Arteta Flamini Rosciscky all with at least premier league top 4 starting material.
Then a world class dm and striker before we can ever truly be considered for the league, and by that i mean at the start of the season be in with a shout not "oh Arsenal have a shout because other top teams are having a nightmare"

Per, Debuchy and Campbell are weak links in our squad. Simple as that.

G95

1.) 08 Nov 2015 18:20:38
still not happy to write off Per - doesn't help when he plays next to a rusty right back.

We had lots of players missing and were the poorer side on the day BUT I feel we should have won given the chances we missed. Funny old game.

Glad we have the break now as we need to huddle, slap Giroud, and sort out the run into January.

I still maintain we need to strengthen te right wing position as its our weak spot. Ox can't play there - needs to go out on loan.

We were lucky Giroud was not given a straight red as that would have left us really in trouble.

We have plAyers out but need to strengthen in January as the bench was poor.

A good point but I still feel we could have robbed 3 points if Giroud was on his game.

2.) 08 Nov 2015 18:49:25
So are the players who are constantly missing, they are all weak links for a different reason.

3.) 08 Nov 2015 19:26:15
Per is replaceable for me rather Gabriel played with koscielny. Per made a few mistakes today lucky we weren't punished.

24 Aug 2015 21:57:36
A few points from tonight's game..

1. We need a top striker, no doubt about it.
2. We need an upgrade on Coquelin, someone who is better on the ball.
3. I still think we need a top CB but it's difficult without your two first choice CB's.
4. Ozil, Cazorla, Ramsey CANNOT play together.
5. Chamberlian has to play instead of one of those 3. He gives us width a pace.

5 points behind City already! So much for having a good start.

G95

{Ed025's Note - i have to say i thought coquelin was immense G95..

1.) 24 Aug 2015 22:07:28
Le coq was immense that last ditch tackle on coutinho

{Ed025's Note - i thought he was great all night mystifier..

2.) 24 Aug 2015 22:11:46
I thought Coq had a masterful performance.

3.) 24 Aug 2015 22:14:22
I was with you on 1 but 2 cost you any credibility at all.Le Coq was the best outfield player on the pitch.
Sorry 95 we all see things differently but your soooo wrong about Le Coq mate he's absolutely brilliant and we're so lucky to have him.

{Ed025's Note - you really are G62..

4.) 24 Aug 2015 23:33:21
Le coq was as good as cech tonight

09 Aug 2015 16:16:11
I posted last week that we were still 2/3 players from being the real deal and I think today proved that. We are a proper leader at the back to play with Koscielny, a top class defensive midfielder and a striker who can win games on his own away from being there. We have (so far) missed the chance, yet again, to buy the correct players and put ourselves ahead of everyone else. Look at Chelsea last year, Courtois back from loan, Fabregas and Costa and they won the league at a canter. Why didn't we just go and buy 3 top quality players to do the same? Why?! I tried to remain optimistic that this team as it stands could challenge but deep down I don't honestly believe that it is realistic. Today was a massive reality check for us and the team. At least we're only a point behind Chelsea, who I still believe are the best team in the league right now.

G95

1.) 09 Aug 2015 16:45:59
It's the predictable tactics that contribute to this. 1 up front when 2-0 down. Genius.

2.) 09 Aug 2015 17:51:39
Ozil, Rambo and Santi CANNOT play together in midfield. It does not work.

3.) 09 Aug 2015 18:31:38
Shussh 95 its a secret, because of how well they did together last season during the whole of the second half of the season and in the cup final they and several million other people actually think they can play together :-) silly as it sounds.

4.) 09 Aug 2015 18:37:37
Unfortunately G95 we are 2-3 players away every season, but our direct completion ad 2-3 players every season so we never seem to catch up
I've been saying it for ages, Ozil just isn't cut out for the EPL, he's a great player but you need 10 outfield players that can work for the team, track back stick there foot in when needed and I'm sorry Ozil is never going to be that player, were constantly playing with 9.5 outfield players in the hope he's in the mood and produces something

5.) 09 Aug 2015 18:49:58
G95. Its been obvious for 2 years but Wenger doesn't see it. I'd rather play gnabry and ox on the wings and drop one of them.not an ozil fan my self as people know tho

Hands in a transfer request 4 months before the next transfer window. Ok.

If it turns out he does want out, fine, but why say it now. He would be left to train with the kids and not kick a ball for the next 4 months.

We can still buy from Germany. They just can't buy anyone.

Surely he is kidding?! Unbelievable strength. Personally I think Messi, Neymar, Suarez or Ronaldo, Bale, Benzema are that, not Giroud, Sanogo, Campbell.

If you look at the way Theo has been acting on twitter and Instagram, he looks really positive and upbeat.

I'm pretty sure he said he was aiming to be available for Man City game but I think that will be way too soon. I reckon it'll be October before Theo plays again.

G95

{Ed025's Note - even that may be a bit soon G95, rushing back could be the worst think he can do, but im sure the medical team know what they are doing mate..

We have absolutely no choice but to sign 2 centre backs now. Looks like Per will be out until early 2017 and Gabriel could be longer, not that he'll be a miss anyway.

For me, we need to move on Szcz, Ospina, Per, Debuchy, Arteta, Flamini, Rosicky (sadly. ) , Walcott, Campbell (maybe. ) , Sanogo. That would trim the major deadwood in our squad and free up a hefty chunk of wages.

And then we urgently need to bring in a central defender, central midfielder, right sided attacker and a striker all of whom need to top, top players. We'd need a back up goalkeeper should Szcz and Ospina both move on. That would give us an excellent chance of the title next year.

The big question is, will Wenger do such an overhaul and would you trust him to do it? I do not and this is the first time I actually believe he won't be there to oversee it.

And we have spent 260m in that time. There is no excuse this time. It doesn't matter what they do next year. They have shown what you can do with less money. Wenger is done. His time is up.

If all we win is the FA Cup and we have another parade, I don't think I'll have ever felt more embarrassed.
