note to ladsbantah re Charlie George fa cup final goal.

the iconic bit was his lying down on hi back to celebrate - there is a sort of statue of it in the afc museum.

Slightly similar to Epping's post.

All season, Sanchez and Cazorla have taken the plaudits, and rightly so, but my man of the season is Koscielny.

He has been a rock at the back.

He has been punched, kicked, elbowed and pushed all over the pitch, but he just gets up, brushes himself down and gets on with it.

He has partnered BFG, Monreal, Gabriel and Chambers, but always puts in a faultless display.

Like I said, Sanchez and Cazorla grab the headlines, but Kos has not put a foot wrong all season.

Good post dags, solid performer.

Kos is so underated by almost all but us, we miss him so much when he's not there.
I'd say Sanchez Ozil and Kos are our 3 players who currently would get into any other premier league team and most of Europe's elite teams too.

Very well said. Always our unsung hero, no doubt about it. Never seems to get criticised here at least - and that speaks volumes on a page like this!

Best cb in the country

The best cb in the country plays for the current champions, i'm sorry he's ours he's good but he's got a lot to do to even come close. let's be realistic.

Great post on Kos. Compare his positionsl play and his interceptions and lack of red cards to the previous years, he's had a huge season.

Rather than add yet another post saying how wonderful Santi, Ozil & Sanchez was yesterday can I also give a big shout to Scezney as well. I know this sounds slightly strange seeing as he didn't have to make a save, but I know many would have been nervous when they saw he was playing yesterday, but he put in a faultless display. It was obvious Villas game plan was to try and get Benteke on Kos or Monreals shoulder rather than Merts and pump crosses into him. However Shez coming and collecting every cross basically stopped the game plan dead, and Villas crosses had to get further away from the goal making it easy for us to mop up even if Benteke won the first header. So credit where it's due, well done Shez....

Totaaly agree,

Although when it was 0-0 and even 1-0 my bum was flapping when Sczezny came out flapping, although there was only one dodgy moment.

Very odd how after winning a cup and deservedly so some fans use it more to gloat than actually celebrate it.

Very odd.

Drugs are bad I guess.

It's an Arsenal banter page - we just broke some records retaining the oldest cup in history in style
We have had crap from everyone for never winning a trophy in 9 years - cut us a little slack as we are normally quite professional yet passionate fans

Have a great summer, good luck next year and thank you for the kind words earlier

Agree0 Disagree0

31 May 2015 17:13:27
The drugs are good the company is not

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - you could just be nice you know malaga?..

31 May 2015 17:21:52
The drugs will be as good as we pretend the company is and the company will be as bad as we pretend the drugs are

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - philosophical as ever saint.. :)

31 May 2015 17:24:03
but u chose the company Malaga, this is where u confuse me a great deal, its almost like u can't control the tripe coming out of your own mouth.

You chose on a day of celebration to most to start a little argument with me, not only that but to try and lobby the ever childish Stoner to back u up!

As i have said its all very odd imo and very 'Liverpoolish' if you ask me. Your first thought after winning is not one of pride or happiness but one of gloating and bitterness.

I'm no psychologist but if i was i'm sure i would be able to read a lot into your make up if i was from that attitude.

Agree0 Disagree2

31 May 2015 17:27:35
SY4, I agree mate. i'm glad you are happy, after many years of being disgruntled i'm sure these two cups are very satisfying.

i also wish u luck in the future because imo although these fa cup wins are great, the league and CL should be the ultimate test for your club. but these are good start.

31 May 2015 17:49:36
Thanks for the congrats Chris mate, banter is good and its what we all enjoy but let's keep it within the banter boundaries people.
I enjoy nothing more than a utd humiliating defeat and better still season but we should all be able to stay friends while going about our daily banter.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 May 2015 18:48:45
The only odd thing is that you always come here to troll, CTR. We are enjoying our victory and our drugs, and more so than that the manner in which we won - such a beautiful performance. Sorry if we all let you down m8.

Agree0 Disagree1

31 May 2015 19:00:04
No lemon, u always consider my un-arsenal bias opinions as trolling.

Most of the time I say things no different to what others on here say but because it's CTR I'm trolling.

I fail to see how me congratulating u on a cup win constitutes as trolling.

In future I know not to give u any praise at all as people like Malaga and such can't actually take it for what it is. Believe it or not I'm a grown up who like a bit of fun and heated debates but can also give respect and congratulations when they are warranted.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 May 2015 21:29:59

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over, but expecting different results - may be we realised this mid-season and against City
Hope so and hope we have taken this into the transfer window and revert back to our old strategy
Always looking to improve the squad and starting eleven

A winning squad is a happy squad - people left to win medals not necessarily money. Money plays a big part but when you retire, you want that caption on sky sports when they interview you:

T Henry - multiple winner of everything possible :)

And we all no how much revenue a stadium brings in! Maybe they will hold off raising the price for tickets again For the 4th year running and stop bleeding the fans (that go) each week?

Probably not though hey! Still 3rd place woop woop!

G62,

I think that generally the game does not impact the season; however, if we were to win against Chelsea, it may give us some confidence to kick on.

So yes, excited. (be interesting to see what happens in the window for both clubs and how we line up for the game). I would love for Wenger to break his Mou hoodoo.

MF 5
From Sanchez Ozil Ramsey Cazorla Le Coq Wilshire Ox Welbeck Gnarby plus Artetta and Rosicky and if we sign a top striker Walcott would add further to MF competition, its difficult to see how we can sign players without selling but not because of money but pure overload.
The temptation for Arsene to rotate to keep all happy would be great and could be our downfall if he's not very careful.
I know injuries will happen but we seem to be sorting that out too, a nice problem to have I guess but its difficult even without new MF players coming in.

Great result, great perforamnces and great goals but surely the highlight of the match was Koscielny with his shirt on his head during the Mertesacker goal, looked like a kid with a parka hood on!

Decided to nurse this raging hangover by watching the full match again, paying particular attention to Ozil.

The only thing missing for him yesterday was a goal or an assist, but personally, i thought that was the best he's ever been in an Arsenal shirt yesterday. Was gutted to see he didn't get MOTM, he really put himself about, got stuck into tackles (and won them!), his passing was phenomenal and he just pretty much silenced every critic by putting in a real shift and working his arse off.

He's starting to look worth what we paid for him now. I think apart from Ramsey, he'll be our most important player next season.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

31 May 2015 14:00:42
The bloke was class on grass when we got him but its took a little time for him to settle and people to stop expecting magic from him for 90 minutes a game.
He was booed by a small section of our fans last season which hardly helped him.
I've always thought he was an unbelievable signing that everyone would come to love if they gave him time.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 May 2015 15:42:26
So apparently Ozil did get MOTM according to the Arsenal site. Thought it got given to Cazorla by the BBC pundits...

Agree0 Disagree0

31 May 2015 20:51:39
Ozil was my MOTM - he was left wing, right wing when we needed width; fought for the ball using strength, made the crowd stand up and applaud because of his vision, dummies, flicks, passes and control.

He, like Fab used to but actually better as Ozil tries to play more killer balls, keeps the midfield ticking and always free for a pass. When all our player congregate in the box with a parked bus - ozil will play second fiddle for the team and drag people wide or deeper
Thought he was awesome and nice to see the papers and www. Picking up on this a little later after the excitement simmers down.

He is not the stand out player due to how he plays but when you reflect back on a match you suddenly open your eyes to his impact.
Nothing taken away from the rest - Coq, Per, Hector, Kos, Santi, Sanchez. They were awesome too.

To be fair mate we should congratulate the boy on his team winning back their "We finished above Liverpool Trophy" ;-)

Agree0 Disagree1

31 May 2015 16:48:50
Hahaha, see it's times like this when the whole 'we have class thing is blown out of the water!' A few idiots are more concerned about the big mufc than actually taking the time out for enjoy a memorable achievement.

It's like school on here sometimes, I came over to congratulate u and stoner and Malaga first response is to act like children (like they have won the WC or CL or even the league).

Is that inferior complex u have of Manchester United that hard to contain these days?

I don't blame either of u, we know how u you both work, when arsenal are winning u can't stay away from the page and when they are in trouble u can't be found for love or money!

I don't hold it against either of u though, in fact I feel really sorry for both of u! X.

To the others that actually do care about there team winning something and not thinking now is the time to gloat I congratulate u all.
Back to back FA cups is not easy to do at all and u have done it well.

3 times in a row? Would that be a record? Maybe u could.

I remember 3 years back when we were going for a 3rd league title in a row while trying to win a CL final against prob the best league side I have ever seen in peps barca, it gets harder each year!

U to guys believe it or not, when u won it last night mufc fans first reaction was not one of bitterness, there will be none, we no the team's we have to catch to get back to where we will, u ain't one.

Again a genuine congratulations from me to u all.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i believe you chris and think stoner and malaga were out of order, they are maybe just carrying on the banter from when you were not so nice about their club, but i do believe you are in earnest mate..

I know ed, I don't blame them, like I said when it's going bad they are nowhere to be seen. So maybe they are just stuck in the moment.

It all just sounded very Liverpoolish to me. Shame really as most on here are actually really happy about the win and rightly so. Why would I not congratulate them they deserve it.

Back down to earth after yesterday, the world cup boycott.
I think the home nations should not only support the boycott but lead the way because there were so many reasons not to take part in either 2018 or 2022 even before this weeks events.
Of course if no one followed it would be written off as a token guestre from 4 teams who were never going to win it anyway but that shouldn't stop us doing the right thing, plus I'm sure the move would gather momentum and support between now and the qualification games starting.
