Evening, Glasgow rangers fan here, just browsing through, I see there is talk of Wenger leaving? had a discussion with a few mates RE who would take over, My suggestion would be M Laudrup, talented young manager, what do you think?

Kriss

Believable8 Unbelievable3

Yeah I agree think he would be good- has done a great job at swansea this season. Plays attacking football, well respected, etc.

Agree6 Disagree0

I would love Ladrup to come to us. and get a couple of players along with him to arsenal.

I remember last summer I had suggested getting AVB and was shot down by a couple of fans here, but I having missed out on him, I do not think we should let someone like Ladrup slip through our fingers.

Just suppose for one minute that the consortium bid did go through. How many of the current first team would you want to keep? Personally I can only see that JW is up to it.

Believable4 Unbelievable4

JW10
Cazorla
Pod
Giroud
Monreal
Vermaelen
Walcott
Koscielny
Chambo

Everyone else can leave as far as I'm concerned. Keep good young players like Ryo, Eisfeld and Gnabry. TV5 is just on bad form, but he's still one of the best Cb's in the league.

Just my opinion.

Agree12 Disagree3

Bit harsh. Don't forget these boys have shown especially in second half performances that they can turn it on. Santi, Podolski, and a whole bunch are worth keeping. We just need a mixture of some areas of first team improvement and some bench player improvement. The sad thing is this is closer to 10 players than 1 player!

Agree3 Disagree0

Wilshere
podolski
giroud
cazorla
koscielny
vermaelen
jenkinson
monreal
gibbs
walcott
ramsey
Ox
Schezny

thats for the squad not starting line up,
would love to add;
gotze, jovetic, hummels, cesar, gonolans

Agree8 Disagree1

I agree with the above post entirely. That would keep a good core and add some true world class talent.

Agree3 Disagree1

Shezza
Gibbs
Monreal
Jenks
Kos
Verm
Cazorla
Wilshere
Rosicky
Ox
Walcott
Podolski

Ramsey needs to go on loan, Giroud can stay as back up but I do not rate him. The rest go simply leave along woth Wenger and the board.

@waq - gotze, jovetic, hummels, cesar, gonolans.

Don't disagree, in fact keeping the players you mention and adding these would make be very exciting I think.

but they would cost the best part of what a 100mil?

I just can't see the club investing that sort of money, at least not in one transfer window.

Agree1 Disagree1

Sorry can't agree with the majority of players listed: shezza, gibbs, jenks, rosicky, giroud - just not good enough to make a difference.

Big summer ahead changes need to happen tactics strategies players.

having one system 4, 5, 1 is easy to figure out the best teams in the premier league knows how to play against it as we play the same players week in week out.

what you will find out majority of the 1st team now will be second string come summer ed do you see a majour clear out with players or am I going of on one

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Mourinho must want the Utd job with his comments after the game,

Believable14 Unbelievable1

That's funny was thinking the exact same thing it was like he was trying to ease the loss on em or something

Dave 6

Agree9 Disagree0

That was my initial though too

Paul

Agree3 Disagree1

I'm not too sure Jose thinks like that, he's more likely to just come and say he is the best manager in the world and is the only man for the job! He's going back to Chelsea, Moyes to Utd, we've got Wenger for a little while yet and then Peps on board for the revolution

05 Mar 2013 21:40:53
technically we are the last english team left in the champions league. so atleast wenger can stick that on his cv.
GS

Believable7 Unbelievable2

Whats the odds he uses that at next press outing as a positive for the season

Agree8 Disagree0

That counts as a trophy

Lets face it if we had Raphael Varane, he'd probably be playing line Vermaelen and we'd be slating him. If Oxlade Chanberlain was playing for Manchester United we'd be like why didn't we buy him

Believable19 Unbelievable2

05 Mar 2013 21:19:47
Just look at the tactics, substations and ability to change formations tonight with Manchester United vs Real Madrid. This must have Arsene Wenger mesmerised. He's probably looking at encyclopaedias thinking can you really do that

Believable11 Unbelievable0

Spot on. both managers far far superior

Agree7 Disagree0

Love looking at substations. Especially the ones above the toilets outside the Emirates

We need a centre back, a top quality 1! How on earth did we not see varane

Believable3 Unbelievable2

He looked very good tonight and 20 years old. he's going to be some player

Agree3 Disagree0

Im certain we were looking at him, and it wasn't one of Malaga's sources either!
Ah well just another one we didn't get, that list is ridiculously long now.

Agree3 Disagree0

05 Mar 2013 20:28:10
Varane is the latest player that Wenger has come out and said that we wanted to and tried to sign him. What does Wenger think this achieves? The fans are unhappy with the transfer dealings of this club, and some of the players we have signed, so why come out and say we could of signed a quality player it does nothing to help the fans or the squad. He's done this before, think he said it about Ronaldo as well.

I also saw a question today that I was interested to see what people's answers were. That excitement that United fans felt when they signed RVP or city Aguero or Chelsea Hazard, when was the last time you felt that as an Arsenal fan and what player was it?

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Pod. but he's not played in his best position. he's a goal machine!

Agree6 Disagree1

As an arsenal fan I'm interested in this feeling you call 'excitement'? What is it and how do I get it?

Agree1 Disagree0

Well I was personally very much excited when we signed cazorla in the summer

rightly so

asyd

Agree5 Disagree0

Davor Suker. only one I ever heard of and was a big player at the time

Agree0 Disagree0

Pod and Santi
before that I'd need a hand.

Sheeny

Agree3 Disagree0

Your question at the end is a good one. It wouldn't be Henry as at the time he was struggling in the Italian league and a sub for the French team. So I suppose it was Overmars even though he was coming back from an injury.

Agree1 Disagree0

Arshavin

1404

Agree0 Disagree0

Honestly for me I was excited about Podolski but and Cazorla and Giroud but nowhere near as excited as man u fans were about RVP and my city mates about the likes of Yaya and Aguero - honestly they needed the tissues.

The only player I can think of who I was that excited about was Arshavin because he was simply amazing when we signed him.

ernesto valverde is on Kreonkes next short list for the next manager. One to watch.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Stan hasn't got a short list ffs, he has to get told we are the ones in red every time he comes to a game

1404

Agree3 Disagree0

05 Mar 2013 20:19:14
Do you think if we kept RVP into his last year of his contract, we would be in this position in the league?
If so I hope Wenger and the board are happy with the £24 million. We will lose a lot more money if we are out of top 4. We won't be able to attract the top players. Great gamble. And Wenger is complicit with the board, because he could have sold him abroad to Juventus for less. Even he couldn't be that loyal to the board, where he just agreed to sell to Man utd.

Believable7 Unbelievable0

05 Mar 2013 20:10:03
Champange Charlie,
Who is your first choice to be next manager I remember you wanting Bould to takeover is this still the case? If so why.
To me he don't look interested on the bench, to me if he has had arguments with this is no excuse for his behaviour on the bench.

Believable7 Unbelievable0

Bouldy has been gagged!

Agree3 Disagree5

Bouldy will be gone within 2 weeks. We should be busting a gut to keep him. It's Wengers fault

Agree3 Disagree4

Of the 3 who would you prefer?

Laudrup, Moyes, or Klopp?

Gotta be Klopp for me. Love what he's done at Dortmund.

Believable12 Unbelievable1

Klopp then Laudrup never Moyes

Agree12 Disagree1

He's a poor man's Wenger.

Agree2 Disagree11

Pullis?

Agree6 Disagree10

I have it on good authority that it is mourinho who is replacing wenger! this is dependent on a takeover and is why wenger will move on rather than upstairs and is also why we did not spend in January and concentrated on renewing the British based players contracts as this is what the team will be based on! this info is from an x player who told me rvp was going to utd ( in june) it does all depend on a take over this summer though!

Agree3 Disagree6

Oh that's why we didn't spend, thought it was unusual as Wenger is like Puff Daddy when he has some cash in the back pocket, you can't stop him for spending

Got to say fergy is one brave man, dropping rooney, love him or hate him I respect how he switches things up and is not predictable.

Wenger needs to be more courageous too, maybe blood some of our younger hungrier players.

Fergy I actually hope your gamble pays off, new found respect.

Shaneyd

Believable10 Unbelievable5

I'd like to put a name forward a name as Wengers replacement. Tony Pullis.

He'd be perfect, we've got the players for his system and he'd keep happy all the Gooners who have short memories in relation to what was life before Wenger.

Seriously, who wants to watch the rubbish we play at the moment. We just want to win!

1-0 to the Arsenal. we used to be so proud to sing this song it was embarassing. Only when Wenger did we realise there was another way.

Georgie Graham's boring boring army!!

If wenger is to be replaced in the summer I am hoping it is luadrup and I hope wenger either goes upstairs or to madrid. Luadrup's future appears to be unclear regarding Swansea. His presence would not require an upheaval with regards to some of the more attractive components of Arsenes preferred style of football. In addition, Swansea this season have showed that they are more capable of pressing the opposition quickly and defending as a team than arsenal have been. While it appears that we have a personnel problem at the cb position, the tactical flaws are the most notable, and these mistakes don't help our confidence at the back: a possible reason why we see individual errors cost us so often.

Either laudrup or someone we've never heard of

Believable1 Unbelievable0

i would like to point out that over the last 3 months there has been smart talk from wenger about players like messi and canavani joining the club. there was even an interview with wenger thinking cesc would return 1 day.

1 thing about wenger I have learned over the years is that he all ways gives hints.

would a new owner like usmanov or the arabs go for this caliber of player.

would a player like messi want a new challenge at a new club and league?

i believe if there is a new owner by next season I would not be surprised to see the best in the world arriving.

do we not deserve a crack at the big time?

wenger will not be manager next season.

i am expecting the best of everything to arrive for next season.

f*** the cost we have gone with out for long enough.

HAPPY DAYS

Believable4 Unbelievable13

Come back to the real world

Agree11 Disagree0

Blow the lot! that's what I say live the dream.

We need to do whatever possible to ensure 4th place next year and CL.

Agree2 Disagree2

Champagne Charlie: I have read your repetitive posts now for months slating Wenger and arguing on your soap box as though you alone are the voice of Arsenal.
But only today I realise just how ridiculous a character you must be. Wenger discussing Messi was not a hint at all. His tongue was so far inside his cheek it was making the bed when he made that remark. Likewise, if you think for a moment that Messi would leave Barca for Arsenal (potential takeover or no) then you have no idea.
You are welcome to your opinions like any fan, but think about quality over quantity. Your opinion is not more important than those of others, especially when you're trotting out this standard of tosh!

Bobby Bollinger

Agree11 Disagree0

In all respect charlie that is mental mate, Messi! Really? The same messi that only signed a new 5 year contract about 4 months ago? The one that has a 200m+ buy-out clause?

Fabregas maybe, Messi NEVER! besides if he was to move I think Pep might Want a word with him u think?

Why should we not go for these players.

we pay for these sort of players to play at he emirates all ready.

if we are sold for 1. 5 billion you can bet they will invest hugely in the 1st team.

usmanov will spend.

arabs will spend.

it will be a different arsenal.

Agree1 Disagree2

Love the sign off bobby.

Mickey Moet

Agree2 Disagree0

You person Charlie - you talk as if Arsenal have some divine right to success. Why don't you pi$$ off and support Utd.

Agree4 Disagree2

Usmanov has stated he'd spend £100m if he took control but also said this will debted to the club and not from his own pocket.

Agree2 Disagree1

What Usmanov actually said was he was prepared to put £100m into the team and that was 3 summers ago, however the board wanted no such money. Usmanov said he wasn't even looking for a place on the board. Months later, he then retorted why would he even want a place on a board full of dinosaurs? He didn't say he'd do it if he took control, completely the opposite, he said he'd do it and not even want a seat on the board he just wanted arsenal to get back to fighting for top spot and actually challenge for the champs league.

Now hears the real killer of the week, lost to spurs on Sunday, come Tuesday, according to most people I have spoken to, the whole football world will be watching, Man, UdtvReal Madrid. The veiwing figures for this game, are expected to trounce any C, L, game in its history, that just goes to prove, if it were needed, the gulf between where we were, and where we are at now, this game will bring in massive revenue for both clubs, our return leg in Munich, holds very little interest out side of the two clubs playing in it, non Arsenal supporters have long lost interest in watching us play, so to conclude, no C, L, football next season, less live sky, or espn, coverage, loss of revenue, and loss of the fear factor we used to have, great job Wenger and the board. Plum, Red.

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Thing is, people still think scoring and our midfield isn't a problem and that our whole world will change If we buy a new defender.
Weak performances where we have 60%+ possession and still lose a game have been on going for 2-3 seasons.

Daniel if you could see my posts from 2 years ago you'd know I agree with you and have been saying the same thing for a long time. Our attack it crap. Look at how City and United go all out it's just a case of when, with us it' always a case of if we score not when.

We are competing with Sp&rs now!
What a joke. We used to be winning titles at their stadium. They used to look at our team with complete awe. Now we are chasing them. Iv just driven home playing Sunny Crockett's theme from Miami vice, just to calm me down.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

You sound like a scouser mate, talking about the old days.

Chin up! In Wenger we trust.

Mick the Gooner.

Agree3 Disagree8

I think its more like they are competing with us.
they had to reach up to our level not the other way round.
Waq

Agree2 Disagree1

To be honest I couldn't care less if we are competing with Spurs when they are a top 3 team. That's not bad. What's bad is we are nearly 30 points off the league leaders and the mid-table games we have in the remainder of the season are a serious threat to our top 4 trophy - that's a joke.

Agree3 Disagree0

05 Mar 2013 16:33:44
arsenal never lost the winning mentality ARSENE WENGER did.

we needed a fresh direction 3-4 years ago and there was no 1 at the club to make that decision

1 fact remains is he has not 1 a trophy in 8 years he has made some terrible signings, his youth policy has failed we have only ever produced 2 world class players in cesc and jack.

progree?

Believable5 Unbelievable3

Not to forget even of those two cesc was snapped from Barca. Ok he was just 16, but then he was very talented even for a 16 year old.

So for me we have only produced one top class player in wilshere. But then some may say even that was a fluke because as big a club as ours is atleast one top class player is bound to come from our academy. Its basic probablity.

Agree0 Disagree1

Shut up Champagne Charlie. You're a person with a short memory.

You ever been to The Emirates? Wenger's built that house!

Did you know that Song's market value when we sold him was £24m? That's after one great season followed by one not great season filled with Hollywood passes. Yet again we gave our biggest Euro enemies a serious discount on a player didn't replace. {Ed027's Note - And now he's sitting on the bench, the you have to understand is we almost forced him to leave

Believable4 Unbelievable0

I know we did but I don't get why, apart from some attitude stuff? Selling footballers for a bit of attitude is like firing a wrestler for being too macho. And I was one of the one saying get rid - amazing what hindsight does. There is no way on earth we are better off without Song and that is saying something. But why force him out? Or if so, why not get what you can? For such a frivolous club we really do enjoy giving Barcelona our players on the cheap!

Song always was, and still is a donkey, was a good bit of business.

Theres is no way the board will allow Wenger to go unless he wants to, and even if he does go, some one like Moyes would be perfect for them, keeps the purse strings tied up tightly, we will not be getting a flambouyant high spending manager, if Wenger goes and that's a big if, expect much the same from the shareholders, they will expect there financial returns, ahead of club success. gibbs over monreal anyday for me

I don't see it with monreal thought he struggled to cope with sessegnon,

dont get me wrong brand new settling in time

but gibbs is class makes us play much ebtter and him and pod had a understandingtbh

Yorkshire Gooner Joe :D

gibbs or monreal?

Believable1 Unbelievable10

Deffo Gibbs for me. But I do like Monreal. I just don't get why we sign these diminutive, quiet players. Why didn't we bring in an alpha male player for once in our sorry lives who will come in and yell at those around him because that's what the job requires? Even if Monreal spoke perfect English he looks the kind of guy who wouldn't say boo to a goose!

Agree2 Disagree0

Monreal is quality yh he had a bad day against Lennon but it will take him a couple of months to get to his best when Walcott skimmed Maldini that didn't make him a rubbish defender

I just prefer Gibbs. I think Monreal's great but I have been looking forward to Gibbs coming back.

HI JOE

yeah very disappointed about sunday.

just no plan again, same old, same old.

i do not think monreal has been given the best of training at the club,, let's face it something has gone wrong.
went from so good to so bad when bould came in.
it seems like wenger does not like being told where he is going wrong.

very disappointed about the rumours about bould leaving,, watched him a lot in the reserves. BIG FAN.

hope your well mate

Maldini was 45 when he came up against Theo. Lennon took the mick and Monreal is only in his mid 20's.

Agree1 Disagree0

05 Mar 2013 14:58:21
Noticed some discussions regarding Bould leaving in the summer due to a rift with AW, if this is true and he is no longer taking the defensive training sessions he should leave now. He sits on the bench with a face like thunder, with no emotion at all.

We already have a manager who looks like he has lost a tenner and found a pound, the assistant should be the bridge between the manager and players and should be a communicator.

There are many other ex-arsenal legends who would fit that mould before bouldy.

I would like to see maybe Winterburn or Dixon, maybe Keown they are all a lot more vocal and have a passion for AFC, I would love to see Ian Wright but that can't happen as long as AW is in charge.

BTW what is Ray Wilkins doing at the moment, he would be perfect!

337

Believable7 Unbelievable3

This is what happens when you promote from within it usually ends up being someone who already has way too much respect to challenge the status quo. If all this stuff is true and I were Bould I would be going to those higher than the manager and saying do something about it or I walk and go public. It's not hard. Bould was one of our special players once upon a time, he's just another in along list who are now disenchanted with all things Arsenal. I can't stand seeing him on the touch line. No direction to the team, no comms with Wenger, who is as silent anyway. How can we expect the players to want to be there when they get zero direction?

Agree2 Disagree0

There's an old expression :- "Something Rotten in the State of Denmark ". Well my take is :- Something rotten at the top at Arsenal.
Will all these little snippets of info. or rumours come together in the summer, or sooner?
1. Middle East Bid.
2. Piss-poor results.
3. Training ground disagreements.
4. Vermaelen to Barca.
5. Usmanov lurking.
6. Wengers sarky Press responses.
7. Bouldy's facial expressions.
8. Fan discontent.
Surely something has to happen, or will Silent S, Gazidis, Wenger and the Board just carry on in the same blind manner? I'm praying that change will come, but fear we will drift into mediocrity. Not a happy Gooner!

Agree3 Disagree0

"cos I'm an anorak, the Denmark quote is from "Hamlet". Come on You Gunners!

05 Mar 2013 14:32:51
We need a new striker, someone that turns up for the big games and can guarantee a fair amount of goals per season, but there has been a lot of talk of Ashley Williams potentially coming in recently, I think this could be a clever mover if it comes off. He's a LEADER at the back, organizes the defence well, not afraid to tackle, and is pretty quick. Add to that the possibility of Amorbietta coming in as well, then we would have two beasts of centre backs, both quick, both extremely strong, and both not afraid to get stuck in.

I know these may not be the marquee signings we've been shouting out for, but with a defence of

Jenks/Sagna Williams Amorbietta Monreal/Gibbs,

We have strength, height, Pace, Power, tactical awareness, positioning, everything we seem to be lacking at the moment! Add Begovic/Mignolet and we would have a quality Defence.

Either Capoue/Wanyama/Gonalons to come in at CDM would not only help protect the back four but would give Arteta rotation and a chance to move up the pitch when needed.

Striker options is the one where the money will be spent, but I doubt we would be getting a Falcao or a Cavani, I wouldn't be too surprised to see a move for Mario Gomez or Wilfred Bony,

So in Summary.
GK Begovic/Mignolet
DF Williams, Amorbietta
CDM Capoue/Wanyama/Gonalons
ST Gomez/Bony

I reckon that would add Pace, Much needed Muscle and players that can get stuck in and tackle, Plus a choice of strikers who can score on a regular basis.

Thoughts?

N. Wales Gunner

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Well fortunately for us we do not require marquee signings to improve us drastically - just solid players who are good at their jobs.

But, whilst Wenger is in charge, he will choose status over talent, so he wouldn't drop Mertesacker. It's so ironic that he' been our 'best' defender this season yet arguably most of our defensive problems are because he is in the side in the first place. Because him, Vermaelen is a shadow of his former self (and a lack of decent coaching) and Koscielny who had a world class season last year was dropped inexplicably!

My defence for next season would be like this: Gibbs, Koscielny, Williams, M Richards. Also I wouldn't take Gibbs on pre-season I would tell him to smash the gym for the entire summer and put on a few stone. Time our boys became men. I don't know about Amorbietta at all so for that reason won't speak about him. He got some pretty bad press on here not long ago.

I definitely want a true DM to come in. Don't care who just a good one, we all know the potential candidates!

I would be really disappointed if we signed Mario Gomez - not because he's not good, because he is, but he's not a massive improvement on what we've got. We need a massive improvement. Nobody in the league would be scared of Gomez. He is lucky to have a incredible team behind him both at Bayern and the Germany team. but his attributes are so similar to Giroud, he's just a slight improvement.

We need a totally different type of striker.

The one thing that has annoyed me more than the fact that we lost to the spurs was the smug smile on Gallas's face when he came on.

He was brought on in the 90th minute to clearly waste some time, meaning he is not good enough to play, so what on earth did he have to smile about?

337 are you thick or what?

Gallas was happy cause Spurs were winning and taking pole position in the race for the CL.

Dull, ignorant Gooners like you are not what the club needs at a time like this. Please keep your stupid posts to yourself.

I still can't get my head around these people claiming the reason we are struggling is because the board have not giving Wenger any money.

Rubbish, sissoko cost newcastle 2 million, Wengers brought Santos for 5 million! Wenger spent 10 million each on Kosceiny, Mertesacker and Vermaelen. 10 million on podolski, the same on arteta and Giroud. This man cannot be trusted to sign anymore Players.

He seems blind to the fact that the defensive side of the game, (namely stopping counter attacks after are prolonged but aimless possesion football) should be the number one objective! Nearly every goal we concede is either a mistake or a counter attack.

Obviously you cannot stop every goal however the ease in which other teams open us up is embarressing.

The players mentality needs questioning as well, they act as if they are always hard done by, if they get fouled they moan and moan to the ref. Any decision given against us is always wrong. Instead of rolling there hyperthetical sleeves up and digging in together, battling for a win and staying strong they whine and moan at the ref or each other, this comes directly from the manager's body language.

We need a real coach now, a man's man to galvanise the club, not an arrogant, moaning, defeatist little shadow of his former self, Arsene Wenger. Wenger needs to admit to himself and the rest of us that he now longer has what it takes to compete at the top level.

We need to fight harder now than we ever have and this is not the man I would trust to lead us into battle.

Ridiculous post. There's no way you've seen anywhere near enough of those players to know whether they'd be good enough.

Looks like you searched for Fullbacks on Football Manager 2013 and said "Yeah all these guys must be good as they have good stats, or potential ability. "

Absurd.

I for one am very concerned with the direction the club is currently going. I don't think they'll get champions league unless chelsea really mess things up. And we only have to look over our shoulders at liverpool how many years have they been floaring about in europa now? And massive debts building because of it! I need some reassurance ed that our club will be able to come back stronger next season because at the moment I just see defensive problems, managerial mishaps, takeover rumours and embarrassing performances on the pitch.

We'll be ok.

In Wenger we trust.

10 games (30 points) to go!

"Relax, and support Arsenal"

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Everyone knows the spurs are catchable, they are very average. We over ran them in mid field, just awful defending cost us and not bringing podolski on for Giroud.
What the fans have the hump about is Wenger and how he's doing things.
A lot I talk to don't even want to finish top four, so there would surely be changes.
By the way, I really think we will catch the spuds.

Werner isn't leaving this summer. His contract runs through 2014.

Wenger would never dishonor a contract.

Ed001 I saw you write 'if they can convince Kroenke to sell' which I found interesting - financially does it not make absolute sense to sell now, considering we are regressing in almost all areas of the club? (before people question that - we are. Increasing wage bill, naff players, poor coaching, unhappy staff, lost manager, imbalance of power etc, no youth achievement or prospects made by our academy, we are regressing badly).

Maybe I am being simplistic but the only reason I can think of for not selling is because SK would rather use his stake in the club to borrow against that value in other areas of business but I do not even know if that is possible? But right now the club has been valued ridiculously high and surely unless we start winning things that is only going to decrease? He will never get what he being offered right now surely? {Ed001's Note - for me, and a number of people who are involved in this kind of business that I have spoken to, this is the time to make a sale or an investment. Just like you, we all think that the club is probably at its highest value, with the new TV deal for next season, but reducing attendances, it does seem to be the right time to sell for a profit.}

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Cheers for the reply Ed, it's weird because it does seem the only time to sell, he'll never get what he would get today again. But then you see he owns 5 teams or something and doesn't care for their successes at all and it makes me fearful he won't sell up. I just pray someone with an eye on success makes him an offer he'd be stupid to refuse.

Also, just to clear it up, is SK actually able to use the club as leverage? I can't imagine the club would want any owner being able to put the club at risk in deals that aren't associated with helping us (e. g. if SK wanted to buy another sports team could he borrow against the £1. 5bn valuation of AFC, and if something goes wrong, could the creditors possess Arsenal?) but I have no idea.

I know what you mean. in fairness he played pretty well throughout most of January but he hasn't done much since, real shame. I thought he looked like he couldn't be arsed most of the spurs game.

I agree we should have let him go when we had the chance, I was one who said sell him. he has a good game every now and then and some think he's world class he's to inconsistent and we could have got another striker in jan if we tried hard enough but basically he was begged to stay

Did you see the way Kolo Toure played last night. passion, determination, aggression. we lost a great deal when Wenger let him go, and kept Gallas.
He backed the wrong horse. Did you see Gallas`s smug smile when he came on, on Sunday. it just says it all.
