Hes 30 years old, we are not getting his best years. At some point soon he will start going downhill. We don't need players with no future and no future value. Kos is 2 years older and he's struggling big style. I think desperation and short term thinking is wrong.

Yes. Quality addition.

My point is, if all the top six clubs had to sell up their squads tomorrow, i think in worth and value all the teams could get for their players, we would get far less pounds in. Our players are either too old to sell, too far out of contract, or not worth the super amounts some players are going for. We are ending up with a squad that is short sighted and worthless in comparison. Every team in the top six bar us could sell one or two of their players for 100 mil plus, we couldn't. Loyalty to players and bad buying has left us in a bad place in my book. Why do we need another depreciating asset like evans. If its not because of desperation. Most of our players we would have to sell on for a loss, not a profit, that is very poor.

Not good enough.

The only reason we sell at a loss is bad management. Its simple either sign a extension on contract or F*****f. If wenger and the cronies on the board followed this mantra we could have the funds to buy quality and progress.
Arsenal football club is the number one priority. Its the only reason we turn up to games. Yes we like world class stars there but a player giving 100% heart to the club (wilshere) is a lot more satisfying than watching a prima donna holding this club to ransom.

SU is he really an upgrade, on mert maybe, the others i'm not sure. Plus he's 30 years old, we used to sell them at 30 as over the hill. i'm not excited by the prospect at all.

Arsenal need a CB having sold Gabriel last summer.
Current CB's:
Koscileny - 33 in Sept and carrying a persistent achilles injury
Mertesacker - retiring at the end of the season
Chambers - Poor, never will be a top CB
Holding - Decent young CB, needs experience
Mustafi - Best of the bunch
Monreal - Not a CB

I believe Evans will give us 3 or 4 seasons and at £20-25m is reasonable value in the current market. In the summer we need to sign another CB, a top class one.

What a great description of our defence. made me laugh! How can we even say we take the club seriously with that! Please.

Agree with RG61. he's not my first choice. but the rate we're going were going to struggle to finih in the top 6 let alone champion league places. I can't see us attracting better in Jan and we need people now. It plug a gap that we have left since the summer. Typical Arsenal and their poor Summer transfer windows.

Yes I agree also. I'm not going to get into the money side of things but for the right price could prove a nice piece of business. He wouldn't be long term solution and would like that to be addressed asap.

I remember people championing williams last year. Same type of standard, a few of us on here tried to point out the obvious. he's not getting in the everton side now. Average overated player. Evans for 5 mil, yes, back up, 25 mil most definitely no.

Steve you need to forget about the money mate. You also need to take into consideration our current crop and our situation.

25 mil back up defenders, who aren't going to be playing regular players are fine for teams like citeh, chelski or man u because they all ready have better players and won't ne relying on your jonny evas very often.

If all our scoutng network is coming up with jonny evans, we are in deep trouble. Bye bye CL football for the future.

Herbert Chapman, thank you for everything you did for our club. The fans will always respect and remember the legacy you left and the trophies you won. You passed away a number of decades before I was born but your name continues to live on.

FA have done the right thing with one hand _ banned Wenger. I love his passion but respect the ref no matter how useless he is. We all knew Mike Dean would screw up and he did.

FA did fa with the other hand as Mike Dean should also be suspended as he showed a lack of respect to Cech plus was totally useless on the penalty call. He couldn't wait to point to the spot and decision was so wrong. No different from a player making a very bad rash decision and being banned from a red card and have to answer questions after the game _ so should the ref.

Wenger then went on to embarrass Arsenal by moaning a gaining about the next penalty _ just say you didn't see it rather than dragging my clubs name and your great name through the mud. It's the sort of crap that annoys me about Jose _ if you are going to copy one of his traits, I suggest it's a different one.

Truth be told in both games _ we should have capitalised on our upper hand which would make the decision irrelevant and we should have defended better.

Maybe we need a change of formation with the emergence of jack and maitland niles. We definitely need more legs and protection in midfield if we go back to a back 4
4 3 1 2
Cech
Bellerin kos mustafi monreal
Ramsey xhaka jack
Ozil
Sanchez laca

Laca definitely needs more suppport up front.
Ospina
Debuchy chambers holding kola
Maitland elneny coq
Iwobi
Walcott/ welbs giroud

Obviously if walcott, ozil and sanchez leaves they need to be replaced.

I am up for a 4 4 2 especially if we have a clear out so we get the right players in the right positions.

If we play 4 at the back then we need a defensively minded CDM and Defense savvy fullbacks or we will get exposed because Bellerin bombs forward leaving us exposed plus CM do the same. I believe the 3 at the back drives more protection once we loose possession.

This would put more pressure on midfield to offer width and backbone ~ hence just 2 up front for me

Biggest signing we need ~ Keown as defensive coach and to get some backbone in the team.

Henry ~ ambassador to help bring in talent and develop attack as we are too indirect

Cech ( need to replace next year )

Bellerin kos ( need a long term replacement ) mustafi monreal ( need long term replacement )

Mahrez (new) N’zonzi ( that type of player ) Jack OR Rambo Zaha

Ozil and Lacazette

I don’t think we can play 4 4 2 until we sort out the CDM rock plus get better wide options ~ fed up trying to see 4 arsenal players attacking through the width of the centre circle.

I would put the following team out. this is if we make no signings.
Cech
Mustafi koscienly
Bellerin maitland niles kolasniac
Ramsey ozil wilshere
Sanchez lacazette

Its a balanced team. Maitland niles is fast powerful and calm on the ball a good trait for holding midfielder. It will allow ramsey ozil and jack to make runs into box knowing we have an insurance. Its strong and compact. Bellerin niles and kolasniac just infront of the back 2 will give them support and allow the mid field 3 to create. Sanchez and lacazettes pace is enough to scare defenders. Their link up play with midfielders is up there with the best.

With subs of walcott xhaka holding iwobi nelson willock elneny welbeck giroud ospina.
