Somebody posted on Utd page.

"Disappointed to see Welbeck celebrate his goal, loyal players shouldn't do that".

Daft comment (which prompted a great reply from Ed007).

He hardly celebrated " Adebayor" style, did he?.

So, question.

Should players celebrate if they score against their old team?

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed025's Note - absolutely..i hate all that not celebrating malarkey, once a player has moved on its a new chapter...give me the adebayor celebration all day.. :)

09 Mar 2015 23:38:47
Stupid. He had every right to celebrate.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Mar 2015 23:40:25
Depends on the situation for me..
If you're a ramsey not celebrating against cardiff, the team who you grew up with and who you left, then fair enough show respect to their fans. If you've been cast aside from united for not scoring, then damn well celebrate your goal against them.

Agree3 Disagree0

09 Mar 2015 23:40:58
I don't agree with the adebayor celebration, but he gets paid to play for us so has every right to celebrate each and every goal he scores.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Mar 2015 23:44:36
Agree Ed,

Although Adebayor's was a bit over the top (but as a Gooner, I would say that).

If you aren't going to celebrate, why join a team from the same league?

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Mar 2015 00:04:06
Very good point Lemon.

Very good indeed.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Mar 2015 00:23:04
Lol so one is ok and one ain't? What was your opinions on rvp last season dags?

I know lol.

To be honest a celebration don't bother me at all, once he left he was gone. I'm sure he will provide me with many more laughs over years to console me. :)

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Mar 2015 01:30:20
I know this is stupid but if you leave a so called smaller club for a top team then feel it's a tad disrespectful but if you move from top team to top team then there wasn't much loyalty to start with ( there's always an exception) so why should they not celebrate.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Mar 2015 07:52:42
I would certainly feel that where a player is sold off by a club and the manager of the selling player disrespects the player so badly - then why wouldn'yt the player want to rub their noses in it.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Mar 2015 08:11:57
the way van gaal spoke about him was terrible. id of ran over to him

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Mar 2015 08:37:33
Chris,

I didn't have a problem with RVP celebrating last season.

Although, I did throw the remote at the TV :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Mar 2015 14:20:28
Havent seen RVP celebrating anything this season! Maybe he will celebrate the fourth place trophy if they're lucky, but can't see it with their run in :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Mar 2015 15:57:09
Haha 337, love it pal.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Mar 2015 23:16:00
Why does Rooney not get booked for being in ref's face all game....

Captain

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Mar 2015 23:44:29
If I were the ref I'd tell him to 'keep his hair on' that would soon either shut him up or get him sent off

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Mar 2015 00:04:42
Captain's role I guess.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Mar 2015 00:25:52
Because he's English.

Great finish from Nacho -QUALITY

Believable1 Unbelievable0

09 Mar 2015 23:23:17
He "dipped" it past De Gea.

It was a "cream" finish.

OK, that's enough.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - sigh..

09 Mar 2015 23:40:08
I thought it was a peri peri good finish, crisp!

Agree0 Disagree0

Man Utd LUKE SHAW of winning tonight. We were almost ROONEYed again. Thank God Valencia was so BLIND. Even ANGEL was missing. In the end, it does not MATA.
Hello, Wembley, WelBack (We're back).

Believable0 Unbelievable0

09 Mar 2015 23:26:25
Nam,

The Eds should put that post into underground "Chambers", so it never see's the light of day again, lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - wipes the floor with the nacho post of yours though dags..

09 Mar 2015 23:47:44
Lol, true Ed.

I felt embarrassed posting the Nacho one :-)

{Ed025's Note - and well you should.. :)

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Mar 2015 22:55:37
Great result and so happy.

But (just saw it on the news), best wishes to the Watford supporter who is fighting for his life after being set on by animals who happen to wear football shirts.

Just an average bloke, a family man, a milkman, who was following his team.

Best wishes mate.

Believable9 Unbelievable0

09 Mar 2015 22:47:16
2 things.

Never been a Rooney fan but he works his socks off, especially against us.
Class player.

Is there a better reflex keeper than DDG?
In fact, is there a better keeper full stop?
(Maybe Neuer).

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - dont forget courtois dags...

09 Mar 2015 22:55:18
There you go again, have you been posessed by Chris red man or something? Le coq was immense tonight, ozil worked harder than anyone, Santi was defending! Nach was class and the ref was spot on with every decision, even AW taking bellerin off when he did was perfect

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Mar 2015 22:58:45
I think DDG and Courtois are definitely the 2 stand out keepers in Prem League, if not the world, Ed.

I think DDG just edges it because Courtois has a better back 4 in front of him.

DDG definitely earns his crust every week.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - he gets more practice than most though dags, because that defence in front of him is a joke..

09 Mar 2015 23:06:39
Very true Ed.

337, I'm just trying to Entice Chris back lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Mar 2015 23:08:08
He does work for the team and took his goal superbly but he is still nothing like the player he was 4 or 5 years ago. His constant bitching to the ref does him no favours with people either.

De Gea is definately in the top three with those two and Uniteds concern must be how much longer they can keep him

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Mar 2015 23:53:10
All fun and games red dog. Unsure if I'd unlesh him against Monaco. Its win or bust. He'll either bag 3 or be subbed off at halftime

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Mar 2015 23:54:23
De Gea, I think, edges it for me over Courtois at the moment Ed, and maybe even Cech because his reflexes are so good and you can't beat seeing reaction saves. I don't think there is another keeper who makes such a contribution and rescues so many points for a team. And yeah Dags, Rooney always turns up against us, he's definitely better upfront too.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - de gea is a great keeper TPG, but for me courtois commands his area better, but theres not much between them imo mate..

10 Mar 2015 08:13:11
i posted in the wrong section lol ouch

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Mar 2015 22:44:33

I'm surprised that no one has posted to thank the sniper that was in attendance at Old Trafford, two great shots and hits on Di Maria and Januzaj, and he even got them booked for it.

Top marksman that lad.

Buzzing after that result, everyone had a good game, gutted for the Ox picking up another injury though. Another hamstring as well, I think there is a serious problem with our fitness and coaching staff.

Still great result, great draw.

Nice one Derby, couldn't be more pleased for the guy and top celebration too.

I'm obviously going to have to get on his case more often. ;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Mar 2015 22:11:40
Great result and performance - only two big saves in game were by Utd. Pretty fair result.

wrll done ref - afte a weak call gor pull of shirt on Danny, you stepped up and denied penalty and rightly booked Utd fir diving (again). You should have booked Rooney for trying to influence all game but that's too big an ask.

So great result and can't complan about the draw either. Nothing is certain but a good draw.

well done boys!!!!!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

09 Mar 2015 22:39:20

Believable1 Unbelievable0

09 Mar 2015 22:46:21
Out of 10 duels with Fellaini...Le Coq won 10!

Fellaini 26m
Carrick 19m

Blind....who cares!

Le Coq....brought through the ranks and has arrived!!

Knew he would! Love the guy!

09 Mar 2015 21:55:18
Congratulations lads. Thought it was an even game, up until we self-destructed with the sending off. Proper cup-tie. Good luck.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - very big of you that noucamp, well done mate...if more supporters were like you the game would be in a far better state..

09 Mar 2015 22:14:58

09 Mar 2015 22:15:35

09 Mar 2015 22:23:26

09 Mar 2015 22:30:29
Thanks Stevie, much appreciated. :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Mar 2015 22:30:29
No bother, lads. I'm a football fan first and foremost, even though I'm hurting like mad right now. I think you'll find that most Utd fans have no bother with Arsenal, despite the rivalry over the years. Both our teams are built on the same footballing principles.

Gunner, unfortunately I think we could be waiting a while for that. On our part at least.

ps. just don't be going and doing something silly, like losing to Bradford or Reading, and gifting the thing to that Scouse mob :)

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Mar 2015 22:40:48
Well played Noucamp.

Total respect to you Sir.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Mar 2015 22:52:33
Massive respect for your post 99. True football fan

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Mar 2015 23:18:03
Sorry, Derby. Didn't see your post, mate.

If LVG would stop trying to show everyone how clever he is, and just put our best 11 out there and let them play, instead of feeling the need to chop and change things all the time, and making totally unnecessary substitutions, then yes, we have a good chance. The game tonight was fairly even up until we lost all momentum with his bizarre half-time changes. And strangely, we seemed to have performed better this season against the bigger clubs, so the tough run-in might actually be a blessing in disguise!

Am I hopeful? Yes. But am I confident? Not at all.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Mar 2015 23:47:51
Lvg is doing a martinez. All this talk about his beliefs etc. Looking back Jose wanted the job. didn't seem a good fit. Would you be challenging now with him? I think so

I backed you for 3rd before a ball was kicked no Europe to contend with. But with most your rivals out of Europe and your run it I think you will miss out

Be close race though mate

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Mar 2015 00:36:41
We're definitely doing our best to muck it up, mate. But sure, as a Utd man, I wouldn't have it any other way. Need to get our excitement from somewhere this season, because we're definitely not getting it from the football on display!

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Mar 2015 21:53:21

I'm off to get my Danny Welbeck shirt! I said he was brilliant. ;-)

Not many of ours didn't play well, Coquelin showed he is no flash in the pan, Ozil great display along with Cazorla and even big Mert.

Great watching Sanchez and Chamberlain roasting Valencia and Shaw.

United really are a poor poor side, a shadow of teams of old, any one playing with that lanky tool Fellaini is never going to be taken seriously.

They must thank god that for now they have De Gea.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

09 Mar 2015 21:26:50
So happy for Welbeck for getting his goal. He's a top lad who works his socks off.

Few observations.

Man u are so error prone.

They are also a very unsprortsman like team, sonething I hate to see.

Cazorla is a beast in central midfield alongside Coquelin, personally I think it's his best position, his qualities shine most in that position.

Monreal is our best left back. He has really come on this season and is becoming one of our most consistent performers and we look all the more solid when he's playing.

Coquelin is a warrior that we have sorely missed for a while.

The battle between sanchez and valencia has been a great spectacle of pace and power.

Ospina is our best keeper and we look far more solid and confident with him in goal.

Di Maria is a person.

Rooneys hair...

That's all for now COYG.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

09 Mar 2015 21:41:53

Believable0 Unbelievable0

09 Mar 2015 19:38:07
I would have liked to see our three best scorers up top, Sanchez, Giroud and Walcott.

With Giroud, Walcott, Ramsey and Akpom on the bench we have some pretty good options all the same.

09 Mar 2015 16:43:01
So,
How do we play tonight?

Go for it?
Attack from the start?

Or sit a bit deeper and attack on the break, like against Man City?

If we play like against City, we win.
If we play like against Monaco, we lose.

We are a weird team.
Sometimes we are full of class and character and skill.

Other times, we are more like a nervous learner taking his driving test and leaving the handbrake on.

Time will tell.

Play on the counter dags

I think this is a must against the bigger teams, how we handled citeh should show wenger this is what we have to do. If we go all out attack they will no doubt pick us off as per usual.

We need a slightly different game plan tonight, with pace n power.

Everyman needs to put there body's on the line for this one

It a MASSIVE game, if we get the win then the confidence will be booming throughout

Don't care how we win but a win is a must ;)

Coyg let's demolish them

Dags with Monaco we were at home. They hit us with pace. City attacked we broke. Wil be interesting later

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Mar 2015 18:16:23
Got to be attack on the break, Man U are fairly useless with the ball, no point trying to press high, have lots of the ball and play a high line. No point exposing ourselves and allowing them to score. We should play the same set up we did at City.

09 Mar 2015 18:23:56
Definitely Derby,

That is the same Welbeck who played the 90 minutes against them at the Emirates and proved what we all already knew ;-)

Would love to see Danny boy come on as sub and score the winner.

09 Mar 2015 14:55:56
Would rather try Walcot tbh

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Mar 2015 15:17:59
Lol i don't think either are going to play, danny might still get a chance to play as a sub, but wallcott sorry boys we have seen the last of him, unless he decides to improve.

09 Mar 2015 17:18:24
Welbz up top for me, we need pace to play on the counter attack n like you say maybe a point to prove, giroud will just slow us right down n that's not what we need for a game like this.

Not too fussed who plays up front, as long as the ox plays on the wing then I'm happy. It would be good to see Welbeck given the opportunity and put in a great performance though.

09 Mar 2015 19:17:41
Red dog I'm not a fan either. But if I was playing him in any game it would be tonight. Interesting line up. I'll miss the game off out soon cheer Us on for me boys

09 Mar 2015 13:25:57
Man U shakey at the back. Let's abandon this tiki taka style today. Walcot upfront, Alexis and Ox on the wings, Ozil or Santi, Rosicky and Coquelin.

Game plan: if they lose the ball, we will outpace them to their goal. Simple

09 Mar 2015 15:13:53
its hard to say. They tend to play well against the better teams.

they beat liverpool at OT, kept chelsea to a draw there in their really bad spell, so they seem to like the big occasion.

id persevere with giroud, if he is missing chances by half time, then we go for a change. i think we should not overplay the occasion. keep to our strengths and if we go back with a draw so be it, atleast we have an advantage then.

I have to say Man U was the worst draw we could have possible had, they seem to have the sign over us...........................I am thinking the best and most likely outcome tonight is a draw

1-1

Liverpool atleast play attacking football, which always gives the teams another chance, and based on yests display from liverpool i would have taken them anyday, so much for your wc coutinho.

The BBC news have already started replaying Gigs goal in the quarter final replay at Villa Park. I was at both the first leg & the replay and it is still deeply etched in my memory. Please, please, please Arsenal erase this with a resounding win tonight.

What's the worst that can happen?
Ok scrap that, may the best team win for once.
Utd are thinking of turning their seats round the other way for next season so their fans can still be loyal to the club but not have to look at the players

Wenger has lead us into 13 quarter finals.

And only lost 1.

Interesting.

But, only a sour note, we have lost 9 out of our last 10 visits to Old Trafford.

Not interesting.

09 Mar 2015 09:12:19
We have never lost a QF on a Monday
We have never lost at old Trafford on a Monday.
We have never lost a QF in which Mesut Ozil has played.
We have never lost a Qf that Sanchez has played
When Calum Chambers is in the squad we are undefeated in QF's
Denny Welbeck has never been on the losing side in an Arsenal v man u game in the fa cup at old Trafford on a monday.
We have never lost to utd in a game anywhere at anytime in which they didn't score.
Statistics prove if they don't score and we do we will win.
With all this in our favour why are we all so worried still? Strange isn't it :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Mar 2015 13:08:23
I hope our players are up for this game tonight, I'm tired of valiant defeats. I hope we sit back and let them have most of the possession as I think we have the players who can hit on the break with speed and movement. I would let Sanchez roam as he makes defenders commit and creates space. A 1-0 win and I would be very happy.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

09 Mar 2015 08:24:51
A) I'm not bothered if we sell Jack.
He only plays half a season, every season.

B) I wished I shared your optimism.
Utd have a voodoo over us.
At best, we will get a draw.

2 0 defeat i'm afraid even though there's no logical reason we should lose to a very very poor utd somehow we always do.
They've been defying gravity for years even under Fergie it was baffling how such an average team could achieve so much but LVG has taken things to a whole new level and somehow got a side that should be fighting religation right in the thick of a top four fight.
How is beyond my brains capacity to understand but the proof of the pudding is in the totally revolting horrible disgusting vile eating I guess, yuk :-(

Wilshire is one of those players, who has arsenal in his blood, i doubt he is going to leave unless we are forced to sell.
