V true but its a good thing he is undereated, miles better than terry cahill and kompany. I don't think giroud can catch the thug they have a good cushion

I am slightly confused, I don't think we have a Need for a new keeper
to me Shezza is a great keeper who happens to be
a bit naive and occasionally has a lapse in
concentration but I think he has immense natural
ability and he deserves another chance

He's a good 4th place keeper but he's too unreliable to win a very litle with, all keepers make mistakes but Szczesney has days/spells where he goes completely off script so has made himself untrustworthy.

To be honest IMO the one position Wenger appears to know nothing about is goalkeeper. He really needs to take a step back and let his gk coaches advise on any new signings. Wenger inherited one of the best keepers in the world when he joined Arsenal, but since Seamen retired, you can only say Lehman was as good. Apart from that, Wenger seems to like younger or cheaper keepers who turn out to be too inconsistent, such as Mannone. I fear Shez is joining that list. Gk is as an important position as a striker, and therefore we should have tried to sign Begovic, who IMO is amongst the best in the premiership, and more importantly has been consistently good over many seasons.

I'm no expert on keepers but to me most keepers are good shot stoppers its positioning and decision making that sperates the best from the rest.
Not making mistakes is 80% of the job and making brilliant saves 20% imo

certain players lack maturity. Wilshere, Schezza, poldi, campbell that i can think of and its this maturity that makes them either over confident, or over prone. wilshere has run down that clock, his potential days are over, he is not far away from being a liability and sold. Schezza needs to put more hours in practice, needs to bring up some consistencies, he needs to be at the same level as de gea, courtouis and ter stegen, if not he is another wasted potential.

Totally agree G62. Every keeper playing in the top leagues are good shot stoppers. Look at vorm, he was fantastic at Swansea. Not sure why he decided to go and play 2nd fiddle at Spurs. However, IMO what sets top keepers out is their decision making. For me, as an ex keeper, coming and taking crosses sorts the men from the boys. You call for a ball, you come and get it. Nothing is more appreciated by the CD, s than knowing when the keeper calls they can move out the way. Builds terrific confidence from the back, shows right through the core of the team. This is why I think Begovic is a class above. He actually is not necessarily the best shot stopper in the premiership currently ( that would be Lloris or De Gea) but his all round game is very good.

he has been saying this for a long time
I find it kinda funny though that we Arsenal are

I wouldn't be disappointed with Aurier but where does that leave our wonderfuly gifted bellerin
I think Bellerin is going to a great fullback and we would be foolish to halt his growth as a player
