Won't bore you by where this comes from, you've heard it all before I'm sure.

Fabregas to be unveiled Tuesday.

Three teams in for Fellani, he wants to come but we are not offering the most.

Rooney agreed terms three weeks ago but he's using us as a stalking horse to flush out other bids home and abroad.

Liveinhope

1.) The fact that Mata can get into the Spanish starting 11 and Cesc can't I'd believe that he has to do something to force the issue in WC season?

Dandan

2.) Fab will not come so let's just let it go.

3.) No, no, please do bore us with where this comes from, because since Cesc came out publicly stating he's staying at Barca, everyone else has dropped linking him with a return.
How are all the internet ITK's convinced Rooney is coming to Arsenal, whilst all genuine journalists are saying chances are he'll stay OR go to Chelsea?
Paul

4.) We will get to weds and guess what?surprise, surprise- no announcement was made on tues.

Not going to happen.

5.) Spain can add all the midfielders they like. their strikers are absolute garbage.

to win things you need to score goals.

mata was a travesty yest. so was xavi and quite a few other big names.

6.) Torres and villa might be average, but michu certainly isn't.

7.) What time today will Cesc be announced?

. now the club say no Welbeck.

It's like offering a starving man a sh*t sandwich and then kicking it in the gutter.

Thank you Arsene for all your hard work today.

Right.

Heard over the weekend the following from someone who works for Man United, admittedly via a third party.

We've mad a second firm enquiry for Rooney which is being entertained. HOWEVER Rooney and his agents have told arsenal that he wants to see who else we sign before he'll negotiate.

So, no Rooney it is then.

ALSO from someone who works in the club:

Club in some disarray internally. Brady left as you know some time ago, he had a personal fall out with Wenger.

Steve Rowley and Wenger have lost confidence in each other and no longer speak. This is due to Wenger ignoring the targets Rowley highlights in favour of the recommendations of the clubs foreign scouts.

Gazidis and Wenger's relationship has totally broken down and they also do not speak, this started after the ill conceived press release he gave at the start of he window about the money we had available.

Wenger apparently angrily accused Gazidis of undermining him, putting him under pressure to spend, and also forcing prices up for players he may be in for. which I have to is about what has happened.

As the window goes on the two camps have been at each other throats and a couple of deals have fallen through as each side try's to get he upper hand.

Dick Law was bought in over Wenger's head by Gazidis and against Wengers recommendations. Law has no football experience and treats every situation as a business takeover deal. He is far too aggressive in his approach and the initial bids are so low he winds the other parties up.

No idea if this is true, just thought I'd pass it on as it makes a lot of sense.

Bloody depressing if true.

Liveinhope

1.) If this is true, it's worse news than no signings

2.) Did you see Gazidis and Wenger during the Asia tour?

3.) Not sure if the low bids are down to law, we've been doing it for years and I've always been told wenger controls all aspects of transfers

4.) What a load of rubbish! Opinions are fine, why do people have to pretend factual inside knowledge? Total bilge from start to end is my opinion.

With that fella from one direction signing for Doncaster and us having no luck in actually signing anyone that plays football, what celeb should we sign instead and why? {Ed027's Note - Mo Farah, because he's awesome

Liveinhope

1.) Vanessa Feltz. So we can shove it in goal.
Flybo

2.) I feel raymond blanc would be a wengeresque signing, he's below 5'11 isn't he

Bergkamp5353

3.) Axl rose closest thing to suarez outside football

4.) I would rather Usain Bolt then Gervinho or Santos.

5.) Hi, Flybo! awesome :) haha couldn't stop smiling after reading this.
COYG andi:)

6.) Id have to go for the queen. she supports arsenal and would add to our british core. plus she would have a bunch of security guards around her on the pitch so no one could tackle her

hamilton

7.) Cheers andi.
Flybo

8.) Chuck Norris the ball would put itself in the goal!!

9.) Flyboy that's the funniest thing I've heard for a while

10.) The word 'it' means the difference between me reading a comment and moving on, and me reading a comment and laughing about it hours or even days later, which I will. Thanks Flybo, for making me look mental when I go out in public!

Starting to see reports confirming what I long suspected in that Arsenal transfer targets are part of the internal power battles within the club.

Basic summary - all the big name we are linked with are given to Wenger by the board to go in for to bolster against the Russian who is trying to use fans frustrations as leverage.

These targets are against Wengers instincts and the American is 100% behind him, so they just don't happen.

Don't expect to see big names with inflated salaries whilst the club is being pulled in two directions like his. There will be signings, but he usual Wenger type ones.

Depressing explanation on our transfer policy being played out in the media at the moment. {Ed001's Note - I thought the Arsenal board no longer had any shares and so no power? I am sure I read that it was only Kroenke on the board that had shares now.}

Liveinhope

1.) 01 Aug 2013 11:48:33
I'm sure your right about the shares, but the board is there for reason I suppose. I think the point being made is that the board is there for public perceptions about policy while behind the scenes the real power has no interest in splashing out big just for the sake of it.

2.) I'm sure Kroenke and Usmanov have bought out all members of the board and own almost all shares between then with a very small minority in supporters hands.

5.) I have a fealing you're right and that if wenger had been left to get on with things in his usual manner we would have signed some very exciting talent already that could of helped us do well next year. I'm still optimistic (as always)

Saint arsenal

6.) Not sure what this has to do with shares? Everyone knows SK bought everyone out. The problem is SK says he leaves the running of the club to the board but he doesn't sanction high transfers into the club.

This story doesn't surprise me at all. The board know what needs to happen, have said the money is there a million times, but then say it's up to Wenger to spend it. I don't even know if our board and Levy combined are even capable of identifying good players. Our scouting system is a waste of time as Wenger never pays any attention to it.

We heard it was Stan who wanted the money for Nasri, but Wenger wanted to keep him. We heard it was Stan who told Wenger to sell RVP to the highest bidder regardless of the socio-political impacts on our club (handing our fiercest rival the title and all the baggage which comes with having to face the flak as fans) as well as losing one of the greatest players in world football.

I have no doubts at all that there is friction between the board, the manager and the owner. SK is not a football fan, not an Arsenal fan, and is in the wrong business. We have a board who know what needs to happen but seem to be unable to get it done. You have Stan willing to spend as little as possible and take any money for players that he can, and then you have Wenger an entity unto himself.

Look at Bayern. 'How can we be one of the world's greatest clubs?' seems to be their modus operandi. Ours seems to be 'how can we get away with doing as little as possible, but maintaining a presence somewhere towards to top end of football. '

Ed, any idea of how season ticket renewals are going at all?

It would be interesting to see if our transfer activity would quicken up a bit if they were slow. {Ed027's Note - not a clue, i'd imagine they are fine though, something like 10,000 was a waiting list and that's not including existing holders

It's Blaise Matilde, linked with him for several years now

Better than nothing, which is where today was heading. Massive anti climax though. Makes you laugh when we hear that deals will only be done if it improves the squad. Given we didn't have a striker a deal for me would have improved the squad.

News flash:

No he's not. Not for £40million he's not.

Can I have Eds job whilst he's on holiday, I've got as much chance of getting it as we have of signing a £40million international from Real in his prime.

I can't wait for even this last excuse to be stripped away to see what happens.

Obviously Real Madrid are the only team in the world with any players. No other team has any players that may improve our team at al. None.

Really? We believe they are the only team with players better then what we collectively have?

B*llocks for the highest order.

Seriously, we need to stop doing this to each other, it's not healthy.

We. Will. Sign. No. One. Of. Any. Status. Under. Wenger.

I know it. You know it. Everything else is toss.

The sound of silence

The crying game

It's over

It's the end of the world as we know it.

Money in my pocket (I can't find no love)

Please release me, let me go. {Ed022's Note - This last song a reference to Cesc Fabregas or Luis Suarez...?}
