Hi eds,is monreal leaving?and I have just heard that we are looking to sign portugals nineteen year old left back who currently plays in ligue 1,is there any truth in this rumor?cheers

{Ed002's Note - At the start of the window I would have said yes as Arsenal were looking at left backs - Baba Rahman was of interest, as was Ghoulam as a possible option. Now, it seems rather late to be looking at a change.}

Have not posted before but I had to reply to this. For me Monreal has been our best player the past 4 games. In fact he was great last year too. He must not be allowed to leave.

Hello eds,just a question,will arsene sign only a striker before the window shuts?what about Ospina situation?will he be moving?

{Ed001's Note - I don't expect anything other than a striker, simply because the right one is proving so difficult to obtain. As for Ospina, I believe he is going to stay this season, unless something has changed.}

Hey eds,the lacazette situation seemed to have cooled off,any news on him?the only information I know is that his playing attitude seem to be down that Lyon is willing to offload him,also can you update the latest karim saga...lastly on the potential outs and ins on other positions,cheers

{Ed002's Note - There is interest in Lacazette from a number of clubs including Roma, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Arsenal and, in particular Chelsea & PSG and there have been a number of discussions about his future - but with only three of these clubs. Manchester City moved to buy Bony in January and now need to be making space if they are going to continue their interest in Lacazette. With Jovetic and Dzeko leaving in the summer nothing will come of it unless Aguero were to also leave - and a move to Manchester City seems very unlikely regardless. Bayern have not pushed with their interest and will likely put a number of issues on hold until another matter is addressed. Juventus has moved for Dybala and that will end their interest. Arsenals efforts are also elsewhere for now. Guy Hillion has been looking at Lacazette on behalf of Chelsea and there has been a couple of meetings discussing several players including Lacazette. It was made very clear that any transfer this season would be very difficult and most unlikely - although that was before Lyon obtained a new striker. PSG are desparate to sign a high-profile French player and they will look to force through a move this summer, but it will be difficult and there is certainly no agreement at this time - but at some point he may well end up there. Roma has also discussed the player with Lyon but will be priced out of the market.

Nothing has changed with Benzema.

As regards to aguero ed. I know city have mega bucks but I think a player like him would eventually want a champions league medal and real need a top class striker. I know they have benzema and all us arsenal fans want him here but as good as he is he isn't as good as aguero and he's the only striker that could take real up another level as the other options are at barca and they couldn't get any of there fantastic three?!

{Ed002's Note - Lucas Silva was subject of discussions with Real Madrid and Chelsea and ended up making to move from Cruzeiro to Madrid knowing he would struggle to get game time last season. Unfortunately for him, Casemiro is now staying in MAdrid which will further limit his opportunities so they are willing to let hime leave - preferably on a loan. I understand that it was a third party who made contact regarding Manchester United in January, but it is unknown if they are acting on behalf of the club or not. Real Madrid has spoken with Porto and Chelsea about the player and I understand that enquiries have been made with his agent by Arsenal.}

Over the 2 remaining years of his existing contract he needs to get very very close to the title and I think he might well do it.
If we don't challenge seriously between now and then its difficult to see how another extension would be accepted by the fans and Arsene must know that too which is why if its possible he will sign top players given the chance.
