Does anyone else think Roy Hodgson may have found our next DM player?

Last two outings for England Wilshere has grown up and commanded the new role as holding midfielder, yes he still has to tougner up more formidable opponents wil still exploit in that area but promising start.

Please pay attention Mr Wenger.

Like you say ST hardly a grueling test for Jack in these games, I can see the potential but also the draw backs.
He gets injured a lot when tackling others which isn't good for a DM plus his discipline hasn't always been the best at times.
I think Ox could do as well if not better but maybe both together could be brilliant

I believe he isn't the defensive midfield answer for Arsenal or England. His performances recently especially the game against City shows he needs the license to play further forward as his creativity would be far more beneficial than his defensive ability.

As much as I like Jack I don't think that is a position we should be looking to play him in.

We need a ready made DM, if we are going to look down this route then Chambers would be a much better option but again, he is our future CB.

We tried Ramsey on the right wing are now trying Ozil on the left wing, just put them in position A and stop with the fannying around.

So just go and buy the real deal.

If we are playing semi pro players like he was against them yes but against di maria, hazard, yaya then no

Agree with Stoner.

I can't stand all this fannying around.

Was Pires a DM or a striker?
No, he was a winger.

Tony Adams a DM or a RW?
No, he was a CH.

Henry a DM or CH?
No, he was a striker.

Play players in their best position and stop pissing about.

I don't see the appeal of buying number 10's when we have rambo and Wilsh (not complaining about the Özil signing) and playing them out of position!

Dags points out that none of the legends of the past played in various positions, they played where the should have and they performed. Always.

Sorry dags, but Henry was actually a winger first. Also just to chuck this one in, Gareth Bale was a left back, so argument such as these will be invalid. can't remember who but i'm sure I did hear that a striker or midfielder ended up being a goalkeeper (I am being serious)

Yeah daywalker, Henry was a winger at first, but wenger did say "you will come to London and you will play striker." And he did exactly that.

And Bale, yes was a full back, but you can of course change position, and develop into a new position, and once he moved into that new position, he moved for a world record fee and didn't move from that position once there.

When in their youth, players can move from position to position, but when they are fully developed they shouldn't be moved if they are specialists, like Henry, Özil, Pires, Vieira, Adams or Koscielny.
