Perfect scenario - we are up in the game and he comes on to get debut under his belt

We would have slaughtered Wenger if he had played and looked poor especially with everyone saying we need a world class CM / CDM. Media would have had a field day on Wenger and player.

Elneny might just turn out to be the bargain of the season but a lot of people seem to be expecting an awful lot from a £5 million signing from the swiss league, he may well need time and it might be next season or even the one after we see the best of him if ever! In premier league terms £5million really is a punt not a statement signing.

He may or may not turn out great we will have to wait and see. But if he was 50 mil and had a world reputation, he would have played. He obviously isn't but we hope he is in weeks and months to come, we need him to be.

My argument not about what is the best footballing time to give him a run out. More a view of finances and supporters. Fans and viewers is what give football value and money. Giving a new signing 5 minute run out first game available, see if he can score a winner does a lot more to gain fans and good moral for a club.

Daan, it only takes a split second for a player to make a silly mistake, just allowing him to get used to every aspect of the pl is a good thing, he needs to settle first.
