Hi ed
Hope everyone is enjoying euro 2016. According to sky our mostly likely targets right now is Dembele, Gotze and Boufal. Do you see one of them actually joining us?

Daanvh26

{Ed025's Note - its all just guesswork from the press daan, if we believed everything the chip wrappers write all teams would have a squad of 85, arsene will have his targets mate but he will keep his cards close to his chest..

1.) 20 Jun 2016 15:39:28
Thanks ed025. I know 99% of rumors don't ever happen but can help but dream.

26 May 2016 11:08:36
Hey ed, any truth about the Kalidou Koulibaly coming to Arsenal?

Daanvh26

{Ed001's Note - I don't know mate, sorry.}

1.) 26 May 2016 11:53:02
Highly doubt this one. Doesn't feel like a Wenger signing at all.

Would cost probably 25+ mln!

{Ed001's Note - how much did Ozil cost? Chambers was not far off that amount!}

2.) 26 May 2016 12:22:08
I asked the same question on the European pages and Ed002 was good enough to give me an answer.

He said a few clubs were interested in him and that arsenal's interest was "tentative".

3.) 26 May 2016 14:51:39
Sorry, I meant more type of player versus cost:

Koulibaly is a beast, don't get me wrong, but he is a very rash in tackle (makes for great youtube) , but in the premiership that's a lot of 50/ 50 situations. (ahem, Gabriel! )

He isn't "like" koscielny as some have suggested.

So my guess is it's a lot of money for someone that is not a ready made starter.

Hi ed
Seeing a lot of rumors of Ramsey going to barca. Do you see Wenger willing to sell? Would Ramsey be willing to leave?

Daanvh26

{Ed025's Note - hes not good enough to go to barca mate..

1.) 17 Jan 2016 13:51:32
i disagree! i understand you base it on his indifferent form at times but i think played in his right possition at Barcelona he would be amazing in that side. he plays well with good players.

2.) 17 Jan 2016 16:49:10
Why don't we just not sell him its a backward step there's not many better than him on his day.

3.) 17 Jan 2016 20:52:25
'on his day' that's the issue. It's 'on his day consistently' that separates decent players to good and great players.

4.) 17 Jan 2016 22:00:55
But u only gave to look at ozil last season he was terrible and lazy at times this season he will get player of the season the fact is some of our players play a lot better when we have the likes of ozil Sanchez and jack playing as they influence games a lot more and bring the likes of ramsey into the games but i do agree he is inconsistantat times but to attract interest from Barcelona ge must be doing something right wiuld you rather we sold him? Who do u get to replace him?

03 Jan 2016 08:15:35
Hi ed
What do you make of the Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang rumors?

Daanvh26

{Ed001's Note - why would Dortmund sell him?}

1.) 03 Jan 2016 15:11:50
Didn't Dortmund want to offload him? I don't know why, he's doing the business for them!

{Ed002's Note - There is seemingly no remaining interest in Aubameyang from Juventus, Real Madrid, Spurs, Roma or either of the Milanese clubs. Whilst Dortmund are happy to see the back of him, it will only be at a high price - and I think that may well block a move in January as it did in the summer. The player has made it clear that he would like to move to Italy. However, that has not deterred Barcelona, Chelsea, Arsenal and Valencia who have had him watched again this season so an offer in January is possible. However, I suspect the asking price would make a move to Valencia unlikely. I cannot imagine a move to Barcelona being viable until one of their first choice forwards moves on. Arsenal or Chelsea might be best placed if they have the stomach for the expenditure - but it would be a very major change to the Arsenal approach to buying players with a €60M asking price. Dortmund will keep him rather than let him leave cheaply. Plenty of baggage with him as well.}

2.) 04 Jan 2016 17:14:17
that's a lot of dough! cheers, ed.

Hi ed
Reading a few articles that is saying Elneny is basically a done deal (Except for visa) . Do you have any idea on the real situation?

Daanvh26

{Ed002's Note - It is not a "done deal" until the paperwork is processed. If you use the search engine you will see my views.}

Hey guys

Tough break for xhaka agenst the swans. Gifting them a goal, Sig still did well to finish and Cech did not put much effort into the save. The red card was a bad challenge and a bit harsh, but still red.

Do you guys seem him coming straight back into the team with Coqu back?
I still think he is a great player, I think at 24 he must just mature a bit.

Daanvh26

1.) 16 Oct 2016 10:46:23
Viera got 8 red cards - two in two matches ( Sunderland and Liverpool at the start of 00/ 01 season) . He worked out ok for us.

Viera took plenty yellows for us exactly like Granit did yesterday because he took one for the team. Cannot work out how it's a red as plenty defenders in between him and gosl plus a long way out. Guess that's life
- rough with the smooth.

Think the young man needs time to adapt but will work out just fine. Ashley Cole was a little rash in tackles and a red card sorted him out. Will be interesting to see how he reacts to the card and Wenger.

Think Coq will return.

2.) 16 Oct 2016 11:13:38
There is nothing to worry about IMO, and no reason for punishing him. He just seemed a bit off yesterday, that happens. But I think Coquelin is still a bit above him at the moment. Being established helps, and Coquelin learned the hard way. He's stronger now. But I can see Granit become strong too.

3.) 16 Oct 2016 11:19:06
I think it's brilliant we have Le Coq ready willing and more than able to step in and reclaim his place which can only be a good thing for the team and Xhaka long term because he will learn from his mistakes better if it costs him his place for a while.
Red or not a Red is debatable but as far as referring decisions go so far we've had a lot more go for us than against us to date this season, which is excellent news because every team that wins anything needs the rub of the green along the way.

4.) 16 Oct 2016 10:45:40
The good thing is that we have Coquelin and Elneny who can replace Xhaka whilst he is out. I would like to see Gibbs given a chance ahead of Monreal, whose lack of pace is evident.

5.) 16 Oct 2016 11:51:48
The new rules that were introduced this season say it was a red card.

Stupid red card.

6.) 16 Oct 2016 12:07:07
What are the new rules?

7.) 16 Oct 2016 12:13:53
Deliberate fowl where you don't attempt to go for the ball.

8.) 16 oct 2016 17:43:52
malaga - that sentence is under the section:

denying a goal or an obvious goal-scoring opportunity

goo.gl/NhnGke

I can't see the new rule and have to think there would be far far more reds if that was the new rule.

9.) 16 Oct 2016 17:47:06
Sounds like an excellent rule change to me all we need is for referees to be consistent with it, if you kick someone with no intention of playing the ball you should walk imo.

10.) 16 Oct 2016 19:34:18
I think it was a definite red, irrespective of where it was on pitch.

He made no attempt to win the ball, but to take the man down.

Xhaka probably expected a yellow, but the challenge was worthy of a red.

11.) 16 Oct 2016 22:15:48
Hope the rules are applied for all because this can only help footballing sides - wish they brought it in years ago. Would have stopped Reyes getting bullied and Neville kicking lumps out of Overmars.

12.) 17 Oct 2016 16:11:01
Everyday pundits are applauding 'tactical' or 'professional' fouls. Well, they're either applauding them or saying a player should have committed one to 'take one for the team'.

Football is a contact sport and it is becoming ridiculously softer every day. Yes not attempting to get the ball can be dangerous and someone may even get hurt god forbid, but automatic red cards? I'd guess more serious injuries are caused by high arms when jumping for headers as opposed to deliberate trip-ups and they are usually only worthy of a yellow. The great England teams of the past would struggle with this as I thought tough tackling and no way passed by any means was part of the English DNA - or however Wilshere put it that time.

Hey

Arsenal must be the slowest club ever to confirm transfers. Friday night it looked like we were ready to confirm 2 signings. Tuesday afternoon and we are still waiting.

Ed's why always the wait?

Daanvh26

1.) 30 Aug 2016 15:27:01
You will only have to wait while tomorrow night.

2.) 30 Aug 2016 16:50:51
Perez announced already. Video is out on the arsenal youtube channel. Mustafi maybe later today.

3.) 30 Aug 2016 17:43:05
Both confirmed.

4.) 30 Aug 2016 19:01:17
mustafi ain't confirmed yet.

5.) 30 Aug 2016 20:35:13
He is now.

6.) 30 Aug 2016 20:40:53
I think he has.

7.) 30 Aug 2016 22:43:07
Malaga said not confirmed.

So, confirmed than :-)

28 May 2016 14:11:32
Hey ed, are you aware of any deal for Zapata. There is a lot of talks about the loan deal he has, do you know the situation there?

Daanvh26

17 Jan 2016 18:08:16
Wenger has to be one of the few managers who will make a signing. Get all the fans excited and then not give him a few minutes run out.

Daanvh26

1.) 17 Jan 2016 18:39:14
Sometimes it's better for them to sit on the bench and get a feel for the club, rather then just throw them straight in.

2.) 17 Jan 2016 18:55:39
Is Stoke away the best game to throw him in when he has only trained a few days.

Perfect scenario - we are up in the game and he comes on to get debut under his belt

We would have slaughtered Wenger if he had played and looked poor especially with everyone saying we need a world class CM / CDM. Media would have had a field day on Wenger and player.

3.) 17 Jan 2016 19:14:05
Elneny might just turn out to be the bargain of the season but a lot of people seem to be expecting an awful lot from a £5 million signing from the swiss league, he may well need time and it might be next season or even the one after we see the best of him if ever! In premier league terms £5million really is a punt not a statement signing.

4.) 17 Jan 2016 19:24:08
He may or may not turn out great we will have to wait and see. But if he was 50 mil and had a world reputation, he would have played. He obviously isn't but we hope he is in weeks and months to come, we need him to be.

5.) 17 Jan 2016 20:40:04
Hope so Steve but the this Elneny thing reminds me of Bielik last season who people were saying would go straight into the 18 man squad if not 11.

6.) 17 Jan 2016 21:04:58
My argument not about what is the best footballing time to give him a run out. More a view of finances and supporters. Fans and viewers is what give football value and money. Giving a new signing 5 minute run out first game available, see if he can score a winner does a lot more to gain fans and good moral for a club.

7.) 17 Jan 2016 21:37:24
Daan, it only takes a split second for a player to make a silly mistake, just allowing him to get used to every aspect of the pl is a good thing, he needs to settle first.

8.) 17 Jan 2016 21:43:03
Surely Arsene will know from training wether he's better than Flamini and decide if and when he plays.

13 Jan 2016 13:37:07
With all this waiting for Elneny to sign, I know now what it must feel like to be a Chelsea supporter waiting for Hazard to score.
