Arsene using Sanchez as the striker against Leicester as he is the best option, why doesn't he just buy a striker that will score 20+ goals. Lacazette for one.

And one who would replace Olly as our number one striker? I think that's the real problem for Arsene.
Williams would have become first choice to partner Kos making Gabriel and Mertesacker bit part players instead of sharing the role.
Draxler would play week in week out no games for Ox and Theo
And any top striker would also play each week meaning either no Olly or if we played two strikers no Aaron or Elneny or Xhaka and what about Jack?
Arsene struggled with having to leave out Ospina for Cech last season simply because he and his players are so close that work decisions have to often come second to keeping people happy.
I think this is the real reason behind our lack of activity and the spending less of an issue than we have all thought in the past.

Gunner - I think you are right. He has to find someone good enough to justify dropping Giroud who is pretty damn good. Squad harmony and competition.
Leicester demonstrated the importance of harmony.
Ties in with - the player has to improve the team

To upgrade Giroud - it's expensive and limited choice due to top strikers being happy at big big clubs and our budget.

Hernandez would do nicely
Williams would have been great
Draxler on the wing for pace and directness
Plus a fullback.

SY mate he doesn't want to find them, Artetta Rosicky last season Diarby before them Theo 10 yeaes of unrealised potential Mertesacker! None would have been around so long at Spurs Everton Liverpool let alone utd City or Chelsea.
Arsene likes to keep it cosy and unfortunately that doesn't lead to a team with the right attitude or mentality to compete for big prizes.

G62, you are spot on man! Top managers need to be ruthless in this day and age and have to be willing to drop players if they are playing poorly, or if someone better comes along. The fact that Wenger isn't, and would rather Arsenal be the good mates primary school club where everyone gets a turn and winning or losing doesn't matter as long as you play and try your best shows a complete lack of professionalism from him.
You're bang on about the mentality as well! I think the adage 'Complacency is the enemy of success" applies to our players.
I can the the squad undergoing a massive overhaul when we finally get a new manager in charge.

We don't necessarily need to replace giroud we need something different up front. And two frigging center halfs. Digging ourselves a hole.

That's why if we do buy we will buy alternative to Olly that won't obviously displace him making him number 2 as Lacazette would.
