My sources are telling me that Arsenal have agreed a fee with Montpellier for Olivier Giroud. The fee is believed to be around £12.8 million plus Marouane Chamakh on loan for a season. But we will have to pay about 50% of Chamakhs wages as he earns around 50-60k while Giroud earned 15k. Giroud has agreed personal terms but no we are just waiting for it to be announced and it will be announced by the end of the week. We are also going to announce M'Vila after the Euros. I know for a fact that Yann M'Vila is gonna be an Arsenal Player after the Euros.
Ed, Ivan Gazidis said that there will be exciting news in the transfer window with Arsenal in the next few days. Is there a chance that it could be Kaka or Llorente? Because apparently last summer, Kaka failed a medical at Arsenal. {Ed002's Note - When Gazidis was screwing with the fans and saying that Kaka was on another continent in discussions with another club. So even if he does arrive, it won't be what was being referred to. Llorente is someone Arsenal may have shown interest in.}

Can't see kaka coming to us h is everything that doesn't epitomise a wenger signing.I'm guessing he'd command a large fee and astronomical w
ages.sorry mate think its bs

Giroud earns more than £15,000. per week. Montpelliers president, Louis Nicollin said "So long as I'm president, you'll never see a Montpellier player earning £40,000 a week." There wage bill is small, yes, but I don't believe the £15,000 p,w wage lock.

I wouldn't be suprised if Chamack was involved in part of the deal, I don't think Montpellier don't have another striker ready to take the place of Giroud.

Ben X.

Agree0 Disagree0

Exciting news will be giroud and M'Vila no Kaka. I think the signing of M'Vila will be a really big singing what we needed since patrick left !!!!

Agree0 Disagree0

So a defensive midfielder is exciting? Come on now. There's a lot of talk that Giroud and m villa will be announced during the euros. Do you honestly think Laurent blanc would allow that to distract his plans? I dont think so.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah, signing France's biggest player in boring. "Defensive midfielders" like De Rossi, Xabi Alonso, Toure etc. are boring players

Agree0 Disagree0

Giroud DOES earn 17,500k PW. Equating to about £15k...

Just read on FIFA.com that Willian is set to leave Shaktar this summer, with a bid from Chelsea being turned down in January. He is a fast, diminuitive AM, and would be a talented alternative for any midfielder we would want, Eds?
GoonerMuzz {Ed002's Note - Chelsea would not pay anything like the asking price in January - but it must have dropped as Roma are very interested now.}

Believable7 Unbelievable10

Would love this to happen but don't think it'll happen

Wenger could let Squillaci go on a free to increase the chance of him leaving the emirates

Believable22 Unbelievable5

Of course he will go on a free. He is reportedly on £50,000 a week, with a year left, so we save £2.5million if he goes on a free. There is no way anyone will pay anything for him. A dreadful signing, quite what Wenger saw in him is beyond me.

Wage trimming

Agree0 Disagree0

Thank you for your efforts sebastien (especialy your goal vs stoke in your first season that got us 3 points) but your arsenal career is at an end unfortunatly for you.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wenger's worst ever signing?

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair to Wenger the guy was a French international defender and for how cheap he was at the time it was a fairly logical option. These transfers happen all the time. Can't win em all.

In Arsene I Trust.

Agree0 Disagree0

If we got £2m for Cygan we must be able to get £2 for this man LOL!!

Agree0 Disagree0

We will ask for some fee for him, that isn't the problem with him though it's that most clubs who'd have him won't pay the wages he's on so it will probably be a loan with 50 % or so of the wages paid by us.

I am a sports journalist with Africa independent television(Ait) I am in calabar for the super eagles nations cup qualifier with Rwanda and after 5 days of prodding, Olivier Giroud's team mate at Montepellier John Utaka, the man whose two goals earned them the trophy on the final day, has finally let the cat slip out of the bag.... Olivier Giroud has signed a four year contract worth 12.4 million pounds with Arsenal Fc. He went further to confirm that the player will sneak into London after France has secured a quarter final ticket at the Euros to tidy up personal terms and present himself for unveiling.

Believable24 Unbelievable10

Seems as credible as this site gets.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope you are correct........guess we shall by the end of next week.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed can you get the address of where the post came to prove he is where he says he is pls. {Ed002's Note - In terms of credibility the question you need to ask yourself is whether or not Giroud is able to sign any contract at all at this time? And the answer is no. However, regardless of this, there remains a very good chance that a move to Arsenal can be completed.}

Agree0 Disagree0

He never said he was coming to sign. He said tidy up personal terms.
I actually believe this source. {Ed002's Note - His words were: "Olivier Giroud has signed a four year contract worth 12.4 million pounds with Arsenal Fc". It is like some sort of joke explaining the simplest things to some people.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm a sports journalist with you're full of s**t...

Everyone in the word knows Giroud is signing for us....but thanks for the inside scoop

Ed you miss read him he cost 12.4m his wording is not great {Ed001's Note - he definitely said, and I quote "Olivier Giroud has signed a four year contract worth 12.4 million pounds with Arsenal Fc." This is simply not true. He has not signed a contract, he can't do so yet. He can agree to sign one when the window opens, but any suggestion he has already signed is a lie or a suggestion that Arsenal are breaking FIFA regulations.}

Laudrup wants to secure Bendtner to Swansea......hopefully true and hopefully happens

Believable25 Unbelievable6

He can go for the right price nothing silly

Agree0 Disagree0

I feel Bendtner is finally maturing and could be of good value for us. So don't let him go on the cheap.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Bendtner would think he is too big a player for Swansea to be honest, although that is about his level in real terms. I can see him moving to Germany.
