Btw, been told that Pep Guardiola is the man in mind, if and when Wenger leaves.

Ben you're right he is probably top choice. He is the only manager in the world apart from Mankini who coaches our style of football to a top tier level. He is the obvious choice, he has stated he would manage us very happily as he wants to win the EPL, and he is contracted per year at Barca. For me this makes 100% sense, and it probably does to him too. However, I will not be surprised if Villas Boas is sacked at the end of the season and Guardiola goes there, especially if Roman offers him a larger packet.

Firstly he is guaranteed trophies, secondly he is Barca born and bred and thirdly he has only been proven in a league where 2 teams competes and manages one of those teams! He inherited one of the best teams in history. My 10 year old cousin could have taken over at Barca and won the treble. The Villas Boas case study proves how managers can be very different in different leagues. Give guardiola a team that needs building, does not have the capital to compete and needs improving and see if he does half as good a job as Wenger.

Given that Guardiola ran the Barca youth system before taking control of the senior team i think he is probably quite capable of building a team. He had a very big hand in building the current barca team! And thats the best team in the world!
That said why he would leave his boyhood team where he was a legend as a player and now quickly becoming a legend as a manager is beyond me. He is well backed by the barca board and gets to buy the players that he needs.
What would tempt him to come to Arsenal?
No one is saying guardiola is better than wenger...but his style of play would only complement our current style of play.
As far as buying top talent thats not going to happen as we will continue to buy sensibly.
I expect him to come out to the EPL. but dont you think, chelsea, united, city will pay him 2-3 times what we can offer him.
lets not talk 2-3 years ahead we have a game against dortmund coming up
He has already said he will leave soon because he wants a challenge rather than just easy wins each year
If we couldnt get Guardiola I think Guus Hiddenk would be the man to get. Though im happy with Wenger for a few years yet.

Wenger has said today he only has a few years left. Coincides nicely with guardiola taking a little break.
People should realise that Barca have their own style of play (irrespective of manager) which they have to play by. the Tiki-Taka - Total Football style of play is the Barca way and has been developed over years. i believe cruyf or someone started it there. The managers at barca have no say over the way they play, they are there just to facilitate. with this in mind, all pep has done is bought players in where they have the funding to do so. he is nothing on Wenger.
