On my break at heathrow so thought to share the info, busy night this evening, colleague claims to have bendtner boarding a flight to Lisbon, 2 flights arriving from France, one of which I saw for myself with an arsenal official waiting to escort the passenger(no idea who) swiftly into a waiting car, other sighting is mearly rumour, hopefully the signings we've bin waiting for

Believable5 Unbelievable12

That is just rubbish. he`ll be in the arsenal team to face udinese 150%. you probably saw bridget nielsen getting on the plane.

Agree0 Disagree0

How do you know he was an arsenal official its not as if he had the kit on

Agree0 Disagree0

Which flights/terminal?

Agree0 Disagree0

Hmmm you had no idea who the player was being escorted off but you know who the Arsenal official was? Care to enlighten us cause as you yourself know we all know what the Arsenal officials look like especially th ones they send to pick players up look like. So who was it?

Gavsta

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe the official had an Arsenal sign to let the player know he would be picking him up lol

Agree0 Disagree0

You're are joking...... A french man at Heathrow, surely not Monsiur

Agree0 Disagree0

Help bendtner not in squad and not even in training. so your sighting of bendtner could be very plausible.

{Ed022's Note - So Bendtner, Vela, Denilson, Eboue, Clichy, Nasri and Fabregas out... We're selling half our squad! It wasn't strong enough to start with. The reinforcements need to be signed!}

It's being reported that we have agreed to sign Gedion Zelalem. Before you get too excited, he is a 14 year old Ethiopian-German.

Good to see Wenger can do transfers when he wants. Perhaps now he'll focus on the first team

Believable13 Unbelievable6

Check out whats gioing on- how much wages do you think a 14 year old is going to be on? Keep up with what's going before making stupid comments

****Jérémy Toulalan due to have his medical at Colney tomorrow afternoon****

Will come out in the news this evening/tomorrow morning. Already in French media this evening

Believable4 Unbelievable36

HE JOINED MALAGA EARLIER IN THE TRANSFER WINDOW

Agree0 Disagree0

Rubbish hes only just joined a new club

Agree0 Disagree0

He just signed for Malaga... seriously think up something realistic if you're going to lie

Agree0 Disagree0

Signed for Malaga a couple of months ago

Agree0 Disagree0

He signed for Malaga ages ago mate

Agree0 Disagree0

And yet he moved to Malaga only two months ago?

Agree0 Disagree0

Load of rubbish .. hes only just signed for malaga

Agree0 Disagree0

Ha ha ha he has signed for malaga in june 2011

Agree0 Disagree0

You are a moran. Toulalan just moved to malaga

Agree0 Disagree0

I am 100% sure Toulalan just signed for Malaga this summer So unlikely as he has just moved n on top of that Malaga are the Man City of La Liga So we cudn't touch the wages he is on now either. Sorry

Agree0 Disagree0

.........Ha...Ha......With stars to highlight it and everything .....Tihi... Made laugh though.

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe its a different french player...just got the name wrong perhaps ? hmm

Agree0 Disagree0

Uhm...made me chuckle he plays for Málaga
Might be a good idea to let the rumours to the ITK's or just read Wikipedia first.

Ha Ha Ha ha

Agree0 Disagree0

I swear this rumour cud also go down as banter....

Agree0 Disagree0

He has already moved to malaga i think so gd work

Arsenal had a scout watching Scotty Parker yesterday expect a bid for him. 100% true and I think he would be good for Arsenal as his workrate is unreal. Crabby

Believable13 Unbelievable26

He is a good player by not the Quality for Arsenal football

Agree0 Disagree0

Not the quality? Disagree, committed, capable, exactly what we need

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd take Parker's determination, grit, experience, steel and sheer feckin effort in a heartbeat. I love the way he sets about a game.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do they have to "scout" Parker, dont they know how he plays from the last so many years in the EPL?

Agree0 Disagree0

Hmmm best player of the season in the PL last year by a mile. I would'ny say im his greatest fan but considdering our midfield atm how could any one say no. We need some grit we lost ours (GL Cesc).

Gavsta

Agree0 Disagree0

I know aw does not like signing 30 yr old plus players but your dcm lack exp he as already played along side wiltshire for england is available on loan so he not using up your transfer kitty make perfect sense

Agree0 Disagree0

Would love to see Parker in the shirt, we need people who would sweat blood and tears for the Cannon

KaKa to be announced on season loan, Bendtner going the other way for season loan. To be announced Thursday afternoon.

What bendtner to madrid u on drugs

Agree0 Disagree0

Bendtner? to real madrid :L i cant wait to see that one unfold on thursday wont happen ha.

Agree0 Disagree0

So you are telling us that Bendtner is going to Real Madrid? How stupid do you think the readers of this site are?

Agree0 Disagree0

What a ridiculous rumour and waste of time posting it

Agree0 Disagree0

Bendtner and real Madrid in the same sentence Who told you that..? Bendtner?
Drakey

Agree0 Disagree0

I honestly think that Bendtner would laugh at this too.

Agree0 Disagree0

Didn't you know he is the best CF in the world? Where have you guys been?

Agree0 Disagree0

Think that the poster of this rumour MUST be Bendtner hmself lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh my god I wish i could hit the "unbelievable" button a hundred times..and there should also be a button for "LOL" and "Idiot". Should be in the banter section i suppose

Agree0 Disagree0

This is the biggest pile of dog resources i've heard on this site yet, but still yet entertaining. Lets face it NB52 would never go to madrid hes going to Barcelona to replace mssi DUH

Gavsta

Remember real Madrid did take Adebayor on loan for a season so you never know

Hearing Rumours of:
potential loan deal for Kaka,
Bargain deal for Drogba,
Wenger style signing of Zarate,
An expected rumour of Hazard,
The defensive choice; Cahill, Samba & Mertesacker.

Now my analysis of these rumours.

Personally if the Kaka loan deal comes off i'll be ecstatic. Fallen out of favor with real, but still looked quality for Brazil in their short world cup. Would still prove to be an amazing player. Wenger work the magic please

Drogba - Hearing prices ranging from £3mil - £10mil, Personally i think hes worth around £8mil considering his age, but could add some real steel to the arsenal team. if this comes off, id hope to see a 4-4-2.

Zarate - Very internationally under-rated. quality player still relatively young, 24. Hopefully signs soon for around 8Mil, if Drogba & him sign, would leave us with awesome options up front.

Hazard - Likely to sign on CL qualification, personally would hope he signed either way, excellent player, possibly offer arshavin the other way to lower the price would be a good idea, as Miyachi looks to be future star (i would believe one of the worlds best wingers in a few years time)

Cahill/Samba/Mertesacker - The defensive choise, likely only one will sign, i hope we actually sign 2, personally i think they're all just a bit better than what we have, samba could be a great bargain with his height and strength. but would much rather have spent big on Subotic.

Believable10 Unbelievable20

I could agree with all those but than it said drogba

Agree0 Disagree0

Erm, thats good and all, but if nasri doesn't sign a new contract who's going to replace cesc. If you say Ramsey I ought to stop talking to you. And zarate -_- omg wow he is so overrated, rather have Adebayor back than zarate in our first team.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ramsey And Wilshere together would, they were good enough to do it last year, they proved when fab was injured that they could do it against the best. They did it against Man Utd, and we won (Ramsey Goal), Admittedly we could do with Parker, but im unsure whether wenger is even considering signing anyone of that role. i think he believes Wilshere, Ramsey, Song, Frimpong will be enough players central midfield players if we opt for a 4-4-2 style.

And zarate, would be one awesome bargain for 8mil, name me a player of 24years or less that we can get of that caliber at that cost. Great back up for Vp and Drogba if he signs.

Agree0 Disagree0

Your havin a laugh ar'nt ya

Agree0 Disagree0

Zarate is good...but lets look at our opposition.

Rooney, Berbatov, Hernandez, Anelka, Drogba,Torres, Caroll, Suarez, Kuyt, Aguero, Tevez, Balotelli,Dzeko.

Now we have Van persie top 3 in epl when not injured...even chamakh is last on this list...and zarate would be second last...unless we are competing with the spurs strikers then we have 1,2,3 position compared to them

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Aug 2011 18:23:08
I don't think it's so much Arsene's fault that we're not signing players, I think it goes much deeper than that, most notably the board and how they feel about spending/wages. I believe Arsene does want to sign players like Cahill, Baines, M'Vila, Hazard etc, I'd say we can hope for two of our targets, at a push 3, and maybe a loan... Possibly Kaka or Parker?

Mike. {Ed002's Note - A loan for Parker would suit everyone.}

Believable17 Unbelievable9

Parker is not good enough to play for Arsenal.

Agree0 Disagree0

Neither are half the players who ARE playing for Arsenal...

I heard the transfer saga for nasri has finally stopped because he has been named in the champions league squad so the likes of man city and the newly team linked real madrid don't want him because they can't use him in europe, do you believe this to be true ed?? {Ed002's Note - I suspect a push to sign him then. If not, perhaps a new contract.}

Believable10 Unbelievable5

ed are the chances of us gettin mvilla 50 / 50 or not plz tell me {Ed002's Note - There is a chance if a decent bid is made. Much will depend on who else bids. Inter, Arsenal, Manchester United, Juventus, Genoa and perhaps Liverpool & Chelsea have also shown an interest or enquired about M'Vila this summer. There is a chance - but perphaps not 50-50.}

Heard through fellow lawyer chat;
1) Jagielka agreed
2) Hazard agreed
3) Zarate agreed

Trying to get medicals & paperwork/reistration through in timfor Satuday.

Believable13 Unbelievable18

I really do hope that this is correct.
Though I thought that Hazard would be confirmed after wednesday?

Agree0 Disagree0

It was the phone jacker lol. sold a mars bar there boy

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats about 66m spent about time

Agree0 Disagree0

The sources are getting more inventive I'll give you that

Agree0 Disagree0

Fellow lawyer?
You can't spell 'time for Saturday'.

Agree0 Disagree0

A lawyer that can't spell registration...impressive

Agree0 Disagree0

Not being funny but why would we sign 2 wingers when we have - walcott, gervinho, chamberlain, miyaichi, arshavin, possibly nasri will stay.. I would say 1 could be brought in but definitely not 2, we have more important places to be filled..

Agree0 Disagree0

First off zarate is a striker, not a winger. Secondly, saw this and thought it was interesting: Italian station RAI UNO ,,reporting arsenal fc in talks with Mauro Zarate ,,confirmed by lazio spokesman

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Aug 2011 17:11:25

No way would he be in Holloway Road now... Nice try though.

Agree0 Disagree0

If we do sign Jags.. I hope he looks better then he did on Saturday
Looked lost and slow..

RUMOUR not confirmedMauro zarate set to sign for arsenal in £12 million deal & to wear number 9 shirt, could be in squad for utd game

Believable16 Unbelievable12

Is Zarate actually any good? I'm not being sarcastic, just too lazy to look up his stats on the web...
Max Farnham

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope not 15 goals in 3 seasons.

Agree0 Disagree0

He scores 1 in 4...his goals though are very very good ones..i remember a fella that played for juve that joined arsenal with the same kind of stats and i think he done ok....:)

Agree0 Disagree0

His goal stats are not very impressing thou.
but i remember him when he was playing at birmingham. he just like the younger version of messi back then. really energetic and quick feet kind of player.
im not sure what happen to him at lazio that makes they want to sold him.
is he really develope from the birmingham time?
but i think he can be as good as kun aguero if he fit our style of play..
maybe AW see that he can develope zarate to be top striker at arsenal.
thats why AW decide to cash on him (if this rumor is true)..

Arsenal to swap Nasri for Mario Balotelli Wenger has always been a fan and he is now well down the pecking order at city

Believable7 Unbelievable22

He has been a fan but we are going to have a team of bad boys not
frimpong balotelli wilshere song gervinho no one will mess with them

Agree0 Disagree0

If wenger can sort his head out he could be brilliant if not a complete pain the neck.

Agree0 Disagree0

Great. We'd finish the game with 3 players

Agree0 Disagree0

Italian gooner here, you get a lot more insight and understanding about managers and club activity from his home nation media, have sky italia in the house and from a interview with manchini, he basically says how he loves wat arsene does with the players and how he likes to prize them away once there the finished article and will continue to do so, with Barry not wat he wants and de Jong possibly going expect a "raid" for wilshere in jan or next summer, horrible horrible man

Believable6 Unbelievable9

Are you sure?? Mancini has signed:

Vieria
Clichy

Thats the only Arsenal players, and Clichy was far from the finished article and Vieira was the expired article?? Think he may have signed Sylvinho aswell, but Hughes signed Ade and Toure..

I may be mistaking

Agree0 Disagree0

I laughed when I read the end. Wilshere was linked to City earlier in the year and he told them where to stick their money. Fortunately in Wilshere we have a player with some loyalty who realises he is making a fortune doing what he loves and doesn't need even more money.

The only way Wilshere will leave is if we completely capitulate over the next few seasons.

mhc503

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope the Jan raid for Jack is false, but i do hold out hope as he seems to have a real passion & loyalty for Arsenal.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mancini is a genius...
Kolo Toure £16m - on a drugs ban
Adebayor - £25m moving to Tootenham on a free
Clichy - £7m on the bench
Nasri? - £25m to warm the bench & wish he was playing for United.
Man City - spent zillions - result to date 1 F A Cup

Agree0 Disagree0

Your not mistaken, it's the blueprint of the club and we develop youth he likes, rather buy it than put the graft in,

Italian goon

Agree0 Disagree0

Citeh are all about buying short cuts for sucesss, it may will hurt them one day...

Agree0 Disagree0

Hardly a horrible man, doing his job to the best of his ability more like - football managers need to be ruthless, and he's somewhere moeny is no object

Jags is on route to coloney for his medical, evertonian source has just confirmed, fee thought to be around 16 million, 70,000 p/w. Everton need the money, expect hazard to sign depending on wensday, things will come good.

i would love drogba to come because he is good and we beat the spuds in the race but how will chelski react to it ps how much is drogba worth and what is his wages ed roughly {Ed002's Note - Chelsea would have no objection if he asked to leave and his value would be less than £10M. I don't want to get in to wages at all, but it would be affordable. The problem would likely be the player who wants to stay. He has an offer of an extension from the club for an additional year, but he wants two. If he were to leave, it may be for a big pay day in the Middle East or Russia (he has discounted Turkey I understand) before perhaps a final year or two in the United States. I would doubt he would be keen on staying in England - and Marseille remains an option.}

Believable4 Unbelievable12

22 Aug 2011 13:25:44
Rennes say that Yann M'Villa is staying at the club. So thats another one weve missed out on Expect only Dann/Mertesacker and Hazard/Zarate no more. Wenger aint going to wait till the last minute to splash the cash he just doesnt want to spend for some unknown reason. Granted the youngsters are promising but they have to be blended in with experience people such as Parker, Jagielka

Believable9 Unbelievable15

Wenger Doesnt Deal With Transfer Ivan Does

Agree0 Disagree0

It's not missing out of the player isn't moving is it?

Agree0 Disagree0

Hazard/Zaurate and Mertesacke are all apparently dependent on CL qualification and lets be honest, other than TV, no one is experienced enough in DEF, for that reason only, Di Natalie and Co. will pull us apart of Wednesday. 3-1 on agg, 2-0 on night :(

Agree0 Disagree0

Again what the poster of the first reply said...

Rob

Agree0 Disagree0

How do you work out it'd be 3-1 on agg if it's 2-0 on the night? It was 1-0 in London...

Agree0 Disagree0

Great supporter you are, saying we are going to get thrashed before the game.

Agree0 Disagree0

How it become 3-1 on agg when they win 2-0 on wed night?
you already write arsenal off. the game not even start yet.
you wouldnt know who will start.how the team will play.
relax man....

Agree0 Disagree0

Surely it common for a club to deny that a player is for sale? I'm not saying for a moment that this means M'Villa is due to sign for us, but it is trigger-happy re-action by the original poster to determine that this potential transfer is off. For example, refer to last Friday weeks Press Call at which a certain Mr A Wenger denied that "anyone was leaving" even when my Mum could predict there was...
Max Farnham

Agree0 Disagree0

Eeerrrgghhh

The sight of an 'arsenal fan' backing the otherside to win ... disgrace.

It's all a bit hysterical this innit?

We have a good squad - just pop over to the official Arsenal site and check out the recently released A & B squads - which can be amended up to Sept 1st and then imagine a few more faces added to that (possibly one or two gone even).

There really has been a lot of useless talk around lately, the game on sat did not define the season unfortunate as it was.

When I first went to the footy in the 70's there was none of this cynicism, none of this baying for transfers and obsession with defining success by cash spent ... it seems a poorer time now despite the squillions flying around.

[Wenger] will add a defender of experience (jags), a midfield general of sorts and a winger in the next few days and then we can get on with the football - wining and losing (a few) as always.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Aug 2011 12:52:27
can someone tell have the bids that we made for mvilla and hazard been excepted
just buy anyone decent plz

Believable10 Unbelievable13

I believe the hazard one will be if we qualify into the champions league proper and for the m'villa Rennes have said wenger can start talks but yet they have come out saying arsenal have made no approach so I don't know what's going on there but wenger will do his utmost to sign him.We have also made an approach on jagielka and we are in deep talks with Zarate as we hope to make him a gooner before Saturday.

Agree0 Disagree0

The chances of any bid being accepted are nil as Arsenal simply refuse to pay the requested fee. I am totally appalled at what is going on at Arsenal at the moment. Everybody keeps saying "keep the faith", but let's look at the facts. No trophies in 6 years, our best players are being sold, we have a manager presiding over a team that has won just 2 of the last 13 league games and that struggled to overcome Leeds, Huddersfield, Orient and Ipswich in the cups, culminating in an embarrasing defeat against relegated Birmingham in the Carling Cup Final. Why on earth is Wenger still in charge? Surely any other club would have installed a new manager. We now have empty seats at the Emirates and yet absolutely no urgency to do anything about it. Rant over, just like our season - already

Agree0 Disagree0

Bids? i think your find there are NO bids im affraid. its all talk.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wow panic.... Lol i think we will do well this season as we always do. People are unrealistic they expect far too much

Agree0 Disagree0

There are some pathetic peiople on here , we are 2 games into the season.

Agree0 Disagree0

"The chances of any bid" bloke, keep your shirt on mate, one bad run in 13 years and you want Wenger out?

It was people like you that used to sing "Fergie, Fergie on the dole".

Agree0 Disagree0

1 bad run in 13 years? when did we last win anything? the bad run started 5 years ago

Agree0 Disagree0

Take on ManSheikty shirt, drink some oil and go to sleep. Sack AW and then what? I'm sure you have a great solution...
DrchoGunner

Agree0 Disagree0

I am the "bloke" referred to in this thread and have supported Arsenal since 1971 and was last at the Stadium to watch a pathetic performance against Udinese at the cost of £47.00. Unlike previous posters on this forum, I do not see why we should settle for mediocrity when we are paying probably the most for a seat. Like a previous message said, the bad run started several years ago and I repeat, 2 wins in 13 league games is not good enough for a team that is supposed to be "top 4". Wenger is not as good tactically as everybody thinks and is frequently out-witted by managers of lesser teams - he has no plan B and never has. He has been brilliant for the club financially, but sadly there is no sign of any improvement on the pitch, in fact things are looking pretty bleak when players will only consider joining us if we are in the Champions League - Arsenal is not a big enough name now to attract players regardless.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Aug 2011 12:19:04
arsenal have agreed terms with lille (23m) for eden hazard yes trust me this is 100% he will sign a 4 year deal at 80k a week he is in london right now 4 years so thats 2 playing for us and then we will sell him to city
Rumours doing the rounds at the weekend were jags, baines, lescott, cahill and mvila. Not really news but just hope we get Baines, cahill and mvila we will be pushing this year with these players. These 3 and hazard would cost around 70-80million but think it is massively dependant on qualification for cl to have the money to spend. Hazard is done though don't ask me why he is moving to a team who haven't yet got cl football but he is
Also think we should go for drogba if available and get Kaka on loan if we can but i think i might wake up in a minute

Not sure if this rumour is true or not. Lost faith in Arsene and the board. So until I read it on sky news or see a photo of the player in the red and white of Arsenal I went believe anything. However, if its true then that'll be good news but we need a CB, midfielder to replace cesc and a striker.

Agree0 Disagree0

Didnt Mata Say He Was Staying At Valencia??

Agree0 Disagree0

The same canal+ that said we bid 20 mill for mvilla, only for the chairman to say we didn't . Alot of agents at work at the moment ,and media not knowing what is going on.

Agree0 Disagree0

The interview with canal + was after their game on Saturday against Caen. He wasn't going to say he was off straight after the game was he? 1 it would cause a bidding war which arsenal don't want 2. Why would he need to although it was reported he waved to the fans at the end of the game maybe an indication he wont be playing against marseille next saturday? Guarantee this rumour is true as he is currently having his medical as we speak

Agree0 Disagree0

No he is not why lie to people and give them false hope? there is nothing to gain from it

Agree0 Disagree0

"Guarantee this rumour is true as he is currently having his medical as we speak"

that's a big statement to make- how do you know? be good to hear some reassurance, even if you cant fully reveal, etc

Agree0 Disagree0

You know lying about it won't make it happen. No need to tell rubbish

Agree0 Disagree0

In other news

We have just signed Messi and Ronaldo for £5

Agree0 Disagree0

He's not having his medical. everytime a player has a medical its does be all over this forum quickly. granted they are never sure who is actually doing the medical

Agree0 Disagree0

I saw messi and london colney...he's here for medical...we are going to win every game single handidly...

Squillachi + Almunia + bendtner + eboue's right shoe which he tripped over when he was leaving to be exchanged for this magical man, also forgot denilsons toothbrush...unused apparently.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hazard is dependant on us qualifying for CL... Why would he leave a CL team in Lille to come to a Europa League team, should we fail to qualify?

No medical.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hazard is staying at lille. Mvilla is staying at renne.

Not this year boys

Hi, I'm a Chelsea fan and a mate of mine is on the medical staff at Stamford Bridge. I have some news concerning one of our playesr and your club that I think will please you. Didier Drogba will sign for Arsenal or Spurs for £3million on thursday. Contract talks to extend his time at Chelsea by a year have broken down and Spurs and Arsenal are set to fight it out for his signature. It is believed the player himself is keen on Arsenal as they can offer him European Football and because of his friendship with Gervinho (who was at Stamford Bridge on Sunday watching his friends) However, the Luca Modric deal could ultimately decide where he ends up as he may be offered in part exchange.

Mac

Believable15 Unbelievable17

Send Kalou and Benayoun to Spurs and Drogba to Arsenal. done. if only it were that easy.

Agree0 Disagree0

UTTER UTTER HORSE TURD.

Only a week ago Drogba was saying he wants to end his career at Chelsea. And 3 million? Are you nuts? He is still one of the best strikers in the league and possibly the world, why AVB isn't starting I have no idea it is ridiculous. if I was him I'd walk actually. Hmmm. Maybe joining a rival would make some sense....

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd take that, he's quality. A big, strong, experienced, proven goal scorer in the EPL.

Not sure I can see it happening though, I'm sure Wenger would only offer a years contract which by the sounds of it wouldn't please Drogba. I can see Harry getting his mits on him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Its on football 365 now. Would be a great signing. Strength, power, experience. Bargain.

Agree0 Disagree0

Drogba Is Good But why Should We Take Their Cast Off

Agree0 Disagree0

Spurs are 5/4 favs to sign him Arsenal are'nt even in the betting.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah looks like a real harry signing to me tbh- would be good for us for a few seasons no doubt, just can't see this one coming off though

Agree0 Disagree0

"Drogba Is Good But why Should We Take Their Cast Off"

Simple. He'd be good for us. You even said it yourself. There's no shame in signing a good player that another club doesn't want. Look at Inter, they signed Real Madrid's cast offs Sneijder and Cambiasso and look where that got them.

Don't be as childish as to say we don't want him JUST because he played for Chelsea.

I hate the spuds but I would take Bale over Arshavin any day, granted I wouldn't pay 40m for him but at a bargain price I'd bend over backwards to get him, same with Drogba. 3m for a proven world class striker. Yes sir.

StEvE

Agree0 Disagree0

Well I for one, fancy RVP and Drogba upfront - any team would fear that front two we would be unstoppable witha bit of width from the full backs

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree with steve and the comment below, would be a great signing, and if the fee of £3mil is actually even close then thats such a bargain, i'd happily accept it if arsene even went up to around £8Mil for him. Great player just AVB is betting on the refinding of torres' form.

i have a friend who works for walsall fc and he likes to stay in contact with former players. yesterday he told me he was on the phone to aaron lescott who is joleans brother. apparently he said we made an enquiry over jolean lescott about a swap deal with nasri and city are getting jan vertonghen as a replacement. although i would have loved it if we went for vertonghen i thought about it and lescott wouldnt be so bad. hes tall, english, experienced and would cover at cb and at lb. not my first choice but i would be happy with this signing as long as he takes a wage cut. i also asked my friend to get in touch with scott dann who is another former walsall fc player so hopefully i can give u some news on him soon.

Anyone else scratching their head this morning, Mata signing for Chelsea. Were we not about to sign him about 3 weeks ago, is Wenger and his scouts really that foolish to allow deals to fall apart and then have our rivals come in with a few million more and get the player. Wenger knew Cesc was going all summer and nothing was done. Getting a bit tired of us being linked with players only for the yids to come out and say they are interested too. Maybe Harry should get his own scouts instead of using Jamie. Cahill should have been done after the liverpool game, no ifs or buts, cheque book out, contract signed, Man utd here we come. Sadly nothing.

I still think signings like Hazard, Mvilla, will only be done after udinese, hopefully after we qualify.

Why are we being bossed by Mancini in regards to Nasri, Does that smug little italian not realise even his own players dont like him. Also two games in and the media morons are already looking at the table as if its a done deal.

come on wednesday.

Roger the alien

Believable17 Unbelievable4

You have to remember Wenger and the scouts find the player, Wenger then tells the board he wants this player. the board (ivan gazidis) then approaches the desired player's club. At this point the talks break down because the Arsenal board dont want to 1. spend too much money on any player and 2. if they do meet the club's asking price they then have a wage policy that cannot attract big names or keep our big names

I really think we need to lay of Wenger. bring back David (Mr Arsenal) Dien.....??

Agree0 Disagree0

There is no excuse for not signing Mata, we coud have matched Chelsea's transfer fee and salary offered. The only explanation would be that we got Hazard instead of Mata. otherwise, there is no excuse.

I think you are talking absolute sense I 100 % agree with everything you say, time for Wenger to stop kids that are up and coming like they are f*cking in an elevator (yes that's an Ed Sheerhan lyric) and bring in Cahill, Hazard and a few more, a new CAM or Striker would be nice as well as some defensive beef. And I love what you said about Mancini, he is a smug little git that doesn't realize he is City's owners puppet, who only go for people who are doing well, as they don't know anything about football. Lets face it, Mancini won't be there for ever, surprised he hasn't been sacked already

Come on Wenger, turn this ship around

For gods sake

Lille say £26 mil will get hazard, wenger offers £20mil, now watch man city, chelsea and man utd come out the woodwork, they ain't gonna haggle over 6 mil, this guy is gonna be huge

If the boards blocking u spending money arsene, give em an ultimatum, they are ruining your reputation The board love u They put a bloody statue of u up

Grow some balls man

Believable22 Unbelievable5

Bang on the money mate. but look at what happens, we bid for Mata, guillem balaque says its a done deal, then we pull out and Wenger says he doesn't need to give a reason, 10 mins later he signs for Chelsea, he's gonna be a superstar for them, and we missed out either because the prof thought they wanted too much or the board stopped the transfer, im sick and tired of this s**t.

Agree0 Disagree0

We dont need wingers we need a cb and a def mid, why spend 27 mill on someone you don't need

Agree0 Disagree0

Well the only consolation for wenger in the pursuit of hazard is that teams such as...

Barcelona
Madrid
Manchester Utd
Manchester City
Liverpool
Chelsea - after mata

Dont need a winger and are not looking to buy one as they have world class players at those positions, or players heavily invested in already.

Arsenal do stand a very good chance but we have to force lille's hand to sell him to us...thats about it.

Dont be surprised to hear in 3 days that spurs want him.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's becoming a joke, we're a laughing stock

If we don't sign hazard now wenger will regret it, ive followed hazards career since he was 16 and I signed him on football manager

Agree0 Disagree0

Hes Not A Winger Hes A Cam And Like Most These Days Can Play On The Wing

Agree0 Disagree0

So you want us to buy what we don't need and not buy what we need, just cause you signed someone on football manager doesn't mean we should sign him in real life.

Agree0 Disagree0

You will actually find hazard's preferred position is as a cam, hes great on the ball and would provide flair and a quick counter attack.

In the hope nasri stays cause wenger does invest in talent this year, you may find nasri and hazard could play either role.

Agree0 Disagree0

So far this season we kept 2 clean sheets, but not yet got a goal.

Are you sure it's defensive midfielders and centre backs we need?

Believable15 Unbelievable17

We will be lucky to get 1 player in let alone 10

Agree0 Disagree0

They may all be targets, but I can't see the club signing all these players- right now, I would take 2-3 and feel happy tbh- in reality...? we're see

Agree0 Disagree0

It would be great to get a third of all those players, but I think that Wenger is under the same spending limits that he has been under since moving to the new stadium, and also we cannot compete with the big boys when it comes to wages. When the new fair play rules come in,we will stand a better chance.I'll cross the names off on your list as we sign them in the next week or so,but I really can't see many of the names on your list being in an Arsenal shirt come September 1st.BUT WE LIVE IN HOPE.

Agree0 Disagree0

Buy all that lot, if only no way wenger will but 1 maybe 2 unkown kids and thats our lot, we will struggle to get in top 6 let alone 4

Agree0 Disagree0

Spot on mate, we may get one of them, please do not let it be Jagielka, did you see his attempt to defend and stay with Tommy Smith when he scopred for QPR, shocking

Agree0 Disagree0

Hopefully we can get these players but unfortunately I cant see it happening I think we may get m'villa but thats probably it

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe 2 of them. Wed will be crucial, CL will make it easier. But it's too late anyway IMO.

Wenger ready to splash the cash and ease Arsenal crisis

Arsene Wenger has finally been pushed into trying to make a dramatic splash in the transfer market.

Wenger has got bids of £15million and £20m-plus respectively in for Rennes midfielder Yann M'Vila and Lille forward Eden Hazard. And the Arsenal boss is also going back for another crack at Everton defender Phil Jagielka, having already had two bids turned down.

Wenger still expects Samir Nasri to leave despite his £22m move to Manchester City being held up by a £3m row over agent's fees, as revealed by Mirror Sport last week.

But Wenger is clearly ready to spend big to try and ease the growing problems at the Emirates after a summer of frustration in the transfer market.

France international M'Vila is seen as a tough midfielder to provide physical strength alongside Jack Wilshere, although Rennes do not want to sell and have already knocked back one approach.

Hazard has been on Wenger's hit list for more than two years but again Lille do not want to sell and have rebuffed numerous approaches.

However, Arsenal are ready to test Lille's resolve with serious money and go for one of Europe's top prospects. Arsenal have already signed Gervinho from Lille this summer.

Wenger recognises the need for a centre half - especially after losing Laurent Koscielny to a back injury - and sees Jagielka as his first choice ahead of Gary Cahill.

Arsenal have had bids of £10m and £12m turned down for Jagielka with Everton reluctant to sell but they will want closer to £20m.

Arsenal have enquired about Cahill but, despite Bolton believing bids were imminent, have always backed off to further suggest Jagielka remains no1.

But Arsenal may be tempted to go back for Cahill if Bolton lower their £17m price as the window nears to closing. Birmingham's Scott Dann and Werder Bremen defender Per Mertesacker are other options.

Believable10 Unbelievable8

You say there is frustration in the transfer market, not for Chelsea, Man city or Man Utd, they just get on and pay what is needede, the only club that struggles with their endless ' enquiries ' and insulting offers are Arsenal, what are we playing at. Remember Wenger will only buy players who are better than the ones we have, that means just about all the players you mention will be here for pre season - LOL.
