question for the eds.
with yann m'vilas' fall from grace, and contract running low, if wenger risked his signing. how much do you think he'd cost? secondly, how much for capoue? i won't ask about wanyama, as he'll cost more then wenger will spend. great job eds by the way.
up the gooners. flybo {ed002's note - his contract has nearly three years to run. his price would not have changed much - perhaps 15m euro. etienne capoue has attracted confirmed interest from schalke, anzhi, inter and benfica in addition to the longer term interest of spurs and arsenal. toulouse are not keen to sell right now but i suspect would play clubs off against anzhi forcing the price up if he is to move in january.}

Hi ed,
Any news on Huntelaar some sources are saying we are close to a deal personally i think this would be a quality signing!
cheers {Ed002's Note - Nothing has changed and there is no deal to being completed. The situation remains that Schalke certainly do not want to sell Huntelaar as it is going very well for him in Gelsenkirchen and they want him to sign a two year extension to his contract - and he wants to only sign for a further year. This is the reason for the impasse. However, Schalke said that they would likely sell if he refuses to agree any contract extension, and he hasn't - although that threat was there in the summer and they didn't sell. Fiorentina, Juventus, CSKA and Atletico Madrid have shown an interest with Napoli and Lazio appearing as possible destinations if he were to move in January, but several EPL sides are still looking for a striker: Arsenal although they have other clear targets I would not be surprised to see him being considered), Chelsea (again he is by no means near the top of the shopping list but could be attractive to the club as a second striker) Spurs and Liverpool - both of which are interested at the right price, but I fear not the most attractive of options that Huntelaar has available. There is a valuation based on a buy out clause of 20M euros that Schalke might want to try and exercise, but even with several interested parties it seems unlikely that they could attain such a fee. The player himself could opt to sign a new deal or run down his contract and seek a hefty signing on fee in the summer.}

From what i have read and understand using rational thinking...

The hunter...is Champions league tied...so would that not be a moot situation? especially if his sell on fee is over 10 million? and im sure a few clubs will pop up if he is on the market and wenger will not enter a bidding war...even if it be against the likes of Burton Albion.

Llorente has been frozen out at bilbao and it looks like he's available.

Juventus want a striker, chelsea want a striker.

One thing is for certain if Falcao does leave...Athletico will replace him with another talented striker...they have always had some of the best strikers in their history.

from what i understand about arsenals business tactics, just by being a fan...is that they will throw out some familiar names...get the interest gauged...get other teams scrambling for that said player and then go buy someone else and we all go WTF.

So in short...its not Cavani, its not the Hunter...its probably Carlton cole.

As a mate of mine who is a hammers fan said...cole is a very talented player. If he had a better first touch, better awareness, and childhood in Argentina, Who is to say that we would not say that Carlton Cole is the worlds best player.

Ed you may have discussed this before, but what is your take on Lewis Holtby? We know his contract is running out and he could be available. But is he the type of player who could improve a side like ours? Is he in the Cazorla mould or is he more of a genuine wide man? For if we lose Arshavin, Rosicky and Gervinho (AFCON), I can see Wenger promoting Eisfeldt, Gnabry and recalling Frimpong.

Is it more likely he ends up at Everton? Who claim to have no money?

Cheers {Ed002's Note - You might want to think about the words of Di Frisco. Whilst Schalke have confirmed that they are to offer Lewis Holtby a new contract they are aware that there will be interest from clubs wishing to speak to the player in January. Aston Villa has added to the previously known interest from Valencia, Everton and Arsenal and unconfirmed rumours suggest that both Manchester United and Liverpool may also look to Holtby. Perhaps the most interesting option that he may have is Inter Milan who most definately has an interest after stepping back from any deal for Paulinho. However, Inter are being advised by Di Frisco that Holtby is perhaps two years from being ready for such a move but in my view it remains a possible destination.}

i know out team is great but how about some football players that we should have or we fans want.

i would like holtby even though wenger is after him i want him snatched and then grabbed from us.

2nd is christien tello a superb star striker i think wenger actully brought him but i dont know whats going on there.

wanayama some say we need him but i say not put him u because i was the 1st to say his name on here and also people like him

alan dzegov also is on spurs rader but i would fancy him at arsenal giving us that extra push.
