Arsenal to bring in Alex from Chelsea on a free as Gary cahill joining in January! What do you think Ed? {Ed002's Note - Alex is not on a free transfer.}

Believable5 Unbelievable26

Wenger said there is no chance of bringing in a cb and I honestly agree with him so I guess that effectively rules out Alex

Greg

If you didnt agree with him, would that mean we might buy a cb? wakey wakey

I Personally Believe The Whole Herny Loan, Rodallega, Zamora Crap Is A Smoke Screen. as Ed Has Said Henry Has Just Played A Whole Season Plus she's 34 And The Other Two Are Gonna Wanna Start Week In Week Out. just My Opinion

Believable22 Unbelievable4

Good call, I hope you're right. I love Henry but don't think him on loan is a good idea...even if he is technically the best striker on the planet we could get on loan...

Raz

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree... although I thought Henry was a 'he', not a 'she'

Agree0 Disagree0

A smoke screen for what though?

Am i the only one who doesn't think we should be going back for henry on loan? i mean, don't get me wrong he can do a job and i'd love to see him come with another player, it's just i think we should be aiming for someone who is at their peak for our second striker.
EF

I don't think we should sign Henry either mate, I really don't.

Not sure on the Henry thing. I would not want to see him less than his best for Arsenal it just would not be right considering his legend status for us.

I think he would still do a job for a loan period (more creater than scorer i feel now) and would be better than Chamakh, but not sure he really has the legs for the EPL now to be as effectrive as he was.

Agree0 Disagree0

My bigger concern is the short loan period. He will be with us for 2 months after which we will be in exactly the same position as now, even if he plays very well. This means we could be left in the lurch for the last 3 months of the season, potentially relying on ineffectual Chamakh and unproven Park as backup for RVP. There are plenty of good strikers out there, and we would be best served by one that can offer us something for the full remainder of the season.

There is just a question of whether Wenger actually thinks we have a striking problem, or whether we just need backup for backups with Chamakh at ACN and any potential injuries. If the former, we will hopfully buy someone. If the latter, an Henry loan would be more likely.

I will personally be waking up every morning hoping to hear that Chamakh is going (obviously before his first ACN game on 23rd Jan) and we are in for someone like Podolski. This would be much better than loaning Henry.

I agree my reason for not bringing henry back is because it might spoil his memory at arsenal if he doesn't play well it think he should fininsh his career somewhere else and come back to arsenal and be a assistant manager as this is pat rices last season with us. I would hope wenger dips into his wallet and buys alex pato he is only 22 full of experience and as ac milan want tevez he will not cost us more than 25 million. And people say they ant cahil and pudolsiki so do i but wenger has ruled out the signing off both of them.

"The Star" reveals that Arsenal are also looking at the possibility of bringing in the out-of-favour Fulham and England striker Bobby Zamora, who has reportedly fallen out with his new manager Martin Jol and is looking for a way out of Craven Cottage.

The Star says that Wenger is set to offer Jol the Moroccan international Marouane Chamakh in exchange for Zamora if a quick decision can't be made on Henry quickly, as Arsenal can't afford to wait until the African Cup of Nations to begin before bringing in some cover for Robin Van Persie.

Believable5 Unbelievable27

Really doubt it. Plus Chamakh has to agree to this. I think he wants to go back to France if he leaves us so this is very unlikely. I would, however, be more than happy with Zamora as a back up.

As anyone taken a look at QPR's Taarbt?
He's a good playmaker and fits into the team just like Arteta.
No issue with pernit etc and QPR is willing to sell (and not expensive too)

Aj@ {Ed002's Note - He comes with significant baggage and has not adapted well to the EPL. I suspect he will head for the Mediterranean. I think Malaga will be in with a shout for him.}

Believable5 Unbelievable18

No Thanks. To much of a moody spoiled brat, not a team player. Yes he can be good when in the mood but this is only in brief moments. If Arsenal want to be serious they shoud be looking at the likes of Cotze etc..

Agree0 Disagree0

Good player,bad attitude,no thank you.

Wenger now thinking about Henry, will this be due to him impressing in training? I hope if he comes in on loan he dosen't tarnish his legendary status. Ed whats the chances of Henry coming in on loan? {Ed002's Note - There appears to be a chance, which surprises me as he has played a full season and is due to be in AZ for a pre-season around February 20.}

ed do you have any news on either casemeiro, eriksen or mkhitaryan
please post
kb {Ed002's Note - Sao Paulo's Casemiro has the attention of Arsenal, Juventus and Porto. He would need a work permit to play in England which could possibly be an issue. Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea and AC Milan have shown an interest in Eriksen. He has already rejected both Manchester City and Chelsea but AC Milan remain the most interested club. Back in mid July someone from the Milan Press Office said he had heard of interest from Manchester United and that now appears to be the case. I doubt that January is an option for a move but perhaps the summer. The player has expressed an interest to move to Spain. I know nothing of note regarding Mkhitaryan.}

Asked about getting Henry on loan...
"That's why I have Christmas Day off - I have to think about that,"
"Short-term is ideal for us, but I haven't made any enquiry yet. Thierry is not here at the moment. It has never come up in conversation!

"The first of January is the vital date for us. We have seven days to make decisions and I will make a decision in the next seven days on players."
