Jenkinson looked good in one game, crap in another, AOC is early days, Joel shipped to Lorient, Young and Arteta haved set the world ablaze in the last two days, Mert might be too slow for our high defensive line sort of play. Gervinho looks class :) did i miss anyone?

Yes not bad, its just a shame that in losing both Fab. and Nasri that alot of our creativity in midfield has gone. Santos, Mertasaker and ofcourse Gervinho are the 3 main 1st team singings really and I think all will do well for us. Arteta will rotate with Wilshire depending on the tactical circumstances , He is a good reader of the game and good passer and good set play delivery although not as quick and skillful as Fab or Nasri.

Beyauon will make a contrubution as backup and will not let us down, he is a decent dribbler and is quite creative. Kind of Like Rosicky maybe not the stamina for 90Mins in our side but can make a impact from the bench, decent temp loan signing till Wenger makes a big bid for Hazard.

Jenkinson has done better than expected really and looks a solid backup to Sagna. The Korean, Campbell(who has gone on loan) and AOC are the unkowns and may not see a big contribution from them yet.

I would have liked M'Villa as a DM and another CF but it was all left too late really. Wenger done well to get these on final day.

Hopefully this will shut those whingers up for a couple of weeks until we draw a game lol

Fair play to Arsene and Arsenal, they were under the cosh and did well.

The lack of a top midfielder still hurts, this Arteta could be excellent backup but as a starter? not really a great choice.

I'm not that happy and think we could've done better but let's see how this team performs, lots of new names might mean new chemistry, new style of play and etc so who knows.

Mertesacker- ive seen steam trains turn around faster. Arteta can fill the fabregas role, he is a similar type of player anyway, just not as good scores less goals - which is why GERVINHO was brought in, so that we now have a front 3 who can all score a few goals

Per Mertesacker isn't my cup of tea either buddy, allegedly he has a reversing a alarm so you know to wait whilst he turns himself around :) that said he is a very accurate tackler (less than 12 red cards in 200 games I hear)

Also he is big heads the ball well, and captains Germany - so we need his organisational skills and loud aggy voice LOL so long as he does what Vermaelen tells him!

No this is a good squad, time will tell if it is better or worse than last season; for now I can only say it is different

Overall i think we are in a decent position. these are not sensational signings but we are not man city. we already had some fantastic players at the team and, if nothing else, we are much better equipped for the rainy sunday at stoke now. some real leaders and experience in the ranks. we will never stop playing great football under wenger. and rvp, wilsh, verminator and shezza provide a world-class spine. a diverse, rich squad, even if they are not the headline grabbers that we may have hoped for. cant wait to see the results against swansea next week.

Arteta is a great player! Infact he has practically ran the Everton midfield for years now, if he can step up and perform for us - you know he will be amazing here.

I for one hope we do sign the lad, and on a long term deal too :) If he does come though I can't imagine what the hell Everton will do.

So we missed on M'Vila...Rennes wanted much more then Arsenal offered. That was supposed to be our marquee signing and that is why Wenger was in France. I followed the french newspapers and they are so good at keeping their mouth shut when it needs to be done. I expect, based on performance, for Cahill to arrive in January and maybe one more midfield player (M'Vila, Hazard) to replace the ending loan of Yossi, who is just a transition signing. remember, Arsenal still hae about 40 mil in the bank after yesterday, so expect at least 20 mil to be spent in January.

Arteta deal is back on!!! Wenger has personally restored this transfer from the death as he sees him as the ideal replacement for Fabregas. This is a great signing if we can pull it off. the leader in the midfield we have lacked.

M'Villa - Apparently in North London, Rennes Holding out for £30 Million

Goetze - Dortmund want £40 Million for the 19-year-old. Highly unlikely for that deal!!

Hamsik - Arsenal ready to pay £25 million, but looks unlikely

Benayoun - Still in talks

Arteta - Apparently wage and agent's fee is the issue. I wouldn't say it's dead yet but I'm not holding my breath.

Let's see how much punch we have in the Market by tomorrow!

wenger is trying to sign andre ansah the ghanaian international to add some muscle and pace to his frontline. he's available for free as he is out of contract.

they may wait til after the deadline as he is a free agent and so can sign after window closes. however afc are worried someone else will get him if they delay.

If he is on a free then why wait?

The weekly wages is a killer even if he is asking for 20k per week..after all..why bother signing just to be send away for ANC in Jan..

Arsenal have officially pulled out of a deal with Everton regarding Arteta. That means the only deal is a loan move for Benayoun.

Gutted about this. Arteta would have been great for us as he is a leader. Benayoun will be good but he is not a leader.

why are we going for arteta? he is 29 and is always inured. i would have loved it if he played like how he was 3-4 years ago but he isnt that good now. wenger is being good but i think he is jut going for cheap quality buy signings. 10m thats why.

I am not disgusted we simply didn't sign Cahill. I am relatively pleased with that because I think he is over-rated and has way less experience than Mert, who I do rate higher. I am furious that Wenger left it this late to confirm this though and messed around with stupid bids instead of getting the Mert deal done ages ago and bedding him in. We needed a world class striker before Bendy goes and Vela went out on loan and Chamakh lost form, so I have been seriously disappointed with what's gone on so far bearing in mind we all wanted a world class experienced striker to come in. Gerv is great though. But one for 3 isn't good. The Santos deal is great, I am very relieved, hence why I said semi-livid. I think to mess around this long and then to go for the defender who was at the bottom of everybody's lists this summer, who people have been slating for weeks now saying he's slow and off form hence being dropped by Germany, I think that is pathetic business. It seems like we don't have a clue what we are doing. We all wanted benz, Higuain, that calibre (on top of Gerv), and the fans have made that very clear, and so far we have signed someone who can't play for us yet, and a 3mil Korean striker... not exactly what we have all been hoping for is it? So I will rant and rave and if you don't like it that's cool, each to their own, but as soon as it's done and dusted I will be behind the team like no other, so those telling my to 'grow up and support your team' can eff off IMO because you're preaching to the converted there.

11 is strange, but I think he'll play left back and mentor Gibbs. He's 28 so in a couple years he'll leave and Gibbs will be more ready... smarter and stronger.
