Gareth Barry. Oh no! Supposedly he is set to discuss a move to arsenal tomorrow. What a flaming liberty.

Also Christian Benteke has put in a transfer request, supposedly those lot down seven sister road are planning another international signing.

Sad state of affairs, Barry, seriously wtf, if this comes to pass they can stick their season ticket.

Believable41 Unbelievable28

32 year old who wants 100k per week? I am not going to believe this. unless Wenger is desperate, which means no other signings are going to plan.

So right now the Strikers list stands at

Lewandowski, Cavani, rooney, higuain, jovetic, benteke, suarez, soldado, negredo, damiao

and we have PSG, Arsenal, Real Madrid, Spurs, Liverpool, Chelsea, Bayern, Man City, napoli

8 teams and Strikers.

I hope we can wrap up higuain and the others can scrap over the rest.

Agree1 Disagree1

Just face it we Ain't singing no one it's the same old news with arsenal all the players linked just to keep the fans happy just be prepared for more disappointment

Agree2 Disagree0

Even if we don't, i'm happy with the squad we got.

Agree1 Disagree4

Last post your a joker

Agree0 Disagree0

Why why why would we buy barry come on is that the best we can do? same old same old getting second rate players
come on arsenal we can do better then that

Agree0 Disagree0

Please no, Gareth Barry?

Agree0 Disagree0

'Even if we don't, I'm happy with the squad we got'?

Are you f'n drunk? If we don't bring any decent talent in then we are heading down the table to become mid table nobodies who's main game of the season is going to be the games against stoke and fulham! Whoo hoo! Exciting stuff!

Agree0 Disagree0

Well give your ticket to someone who is less of a glory hunting **** than you. are you sure you are not a spud?

Igloo

Agree0 Disagree0

You must be joking on barry no way will we be top 4 with these sort of signings

Agree0 Disagree0

Cavani is off to PSG
Lewandowski is off to Bayern Munich Klopp has said on a free when his contract expires

so out of the rest I want Higuain and think it should be between Rooney/Jovetic as our SS's to pair with Higuain

Agree0 Disagree0

The club know that there is a waitinglist for season tickets and therefore if you want to give yours away there will be plenty of takers. Having said that, if you spend hard earned money to support your team you are entitles to vent your anger and I feel that the club are taking us all for mugs - £70M - yeah right!

Agree0 Disagree0

I completely agree with you. I'm seriously considering giving up my season ticket as I'm sick of the lies from the club and not even trying to move forward and win things. One full season from JW10 and watch the bored try make a profit on him too. It's called asset stripping and it's being done right under our nose

Stan and gazidis out!

Agree0 Disagree0

Igloo are u sure your not mate? Were talking Gareth friggin Barry here mate AKA Lonesome George

Agree0 Disagree0

I am absolutely sure of my note. I don't
have to like what's going on. But I support Arsenal FC. Not the board, not wenger, and not any player. What makes me maddest of all is whiners, most of whom have only supported the club since Wenger has been there, or had a ticket since we moved. My guess, the guy who wants to give up his ticket, is also one of the persons who boos at games. do proper gooners a favour, give up your ticket, and get out of our ground!

Igloo

Agree1 Disagree0

Gareth barry what a top sighing. lol

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2013 16:59:58
I doubt wenger will sign him he is 32 for one thing, its papers making crap up.

Also igloo supporting is funnily enough showing support (keyword) do the people of the club to help them achieve things. You are dangerously close to being a supporter of nothing more than a word.

What is worse is when people want to see a new board manager and players. A Suggestion if you want high paid players and people with a hole in their wallet, try man city or chelsea.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would prefer milner in defensive mid

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said Igloo!

Agree0 Disagree0

@ igloo,
you got to be joking right? showing ambition is what normal human beings do. am sure you are so used to coming last in everything you try

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Jul 2013 10:00:12
@igloo,
i didn't write that post you responded to, but I would disagree with your 'glory hunting' comment.

doesn't every fan want the best for their club, regardless of which league/status they play in? I think the majority of arsenal fans just want us to challenge for silverware- again. currently, in comparison to the top 2 and teams around us that would mean improving the team. yes/no?

all we want is for the manager to invest what the club has for transfers and bring in the best possible players. many would see signings like barry as not pushing our squad forward - would you say he is the best player available for that position, given our budget?

many fans have lost faith and patience with the club/wenger and a signing like barry doesn't exactly inspire many of the already disillusioned fans, who pay top prices, seen our best players leave, etc, etc. (i pay just shy of £1500 for ticket)- I could go on.

we just want the club to push on and do the best it can in the transfer market. do you really class that as glory hunting?

Everton Manager Roberto Martinez will look to sign Momo Diame from West Ham for £3.5m (his release clause)

Following this, then Fellaini can and will be sold to Arsenal.

Therefore, don't expect Fellaini to sign before Arsenal head off on their Pre-Season tour of Asia.

Believable50 Unbelievable27

Old news, rumour was release clause closer to 7 mill and the was talk mo was/has going to sign new contract plus martinez allowed him to leave wigan on a free cause he wasnt getting enough games under martinez

Agree0 Disagree0

It is a midfielder from PSG that everton are meant to be looking at as a replacement called Clement Chhhantome.

Ed0029, please ask Ed002 whether higuain will sign for arsenal this summer and then tell us? {Ed029's Note - Ed02 has explained elsewhere (on the Liverpool or Real Madrid page) that Arsenal returning with a further bid for Suarez is dependent over what happens in the "coming days" with two other players. I reckon one he is referring to is Higuain as he said on the Real Madrid page that something is going on and he might be able to answer tomorrow but the papers might have the story on Wednesday in any case. That is all I know about it mate.}

Believable12 Unbelievable7

This is just my hunch but I think tottenham have something to do with Higuain to Arsenal being stalled.

They have special relations, and perhaps they might have put it in subtle terms if higuain joins arsenal, then any chance of bale joining madrid are off.

perhaps with villa now at athletico, they may look to get some deal where they can acquire higuain.

just think there is something fishy. and its coming from the lane to me.

Agree0 Disagree4

Maybe we simply haven't made a bid for him?

France TV saying we have had a bid accepted for Fabien Lemoine from St etienne
Absolutely no idea who the hell he is

Sussex Goon

Believable23 Unbelievable25

Can't find anything about this on the internet. never heard of the guy either.

Agree0 Disagree0

Big signing we have all been waiting for. Oooh I could crush a grape

Agree1 Disagree0

Another "big" signing - 5ft9in midfielder whose main claim to fame seems to be he had to have a kidney removed 3 years ago as a result of a tackle. Transfermarket quote a price of £4 million. Don't know if he is DM but unlikely at his height.

Agree1 Disagree0

He's a cm not a player we need so can't see us signing him he doesn't play dm and we have enough cm's

Agree0 Disagree1

How much more French Rubbish do we have to sign. Wasting money now

Agree0 Disagree0

Think we would be better signing Keith Lemon by the sounds of it! Why not sign an amputee whilst we are at it fu** sake!

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2013 20:10:55
Sebastian Perez - 18 year old Colombian defensive mid offered a trial with a view to signing if he makes a fist of it. Usual YouTube snippet showing him as as world beater available if you can be bothered. In fairness he did well at u20 world cup and as one for the future could be interesting.

Latest news from several websites and sources reporting we are 'comfortable' with Fellaini's buy out clause of 22m-24m and we look to tie up a deal this week for Higuain first and then focus their attentions on securing Fellaini's agreeing his personal terms.

ESPN claimed we have signed Cesar and Grinter looks to be our new 4th CB.

Believable23 Unbelievable33

If i'm being honest it now looks like higuain is very doubtful indeed. we will not bit 30 million for him.

Agree1 Disagree1

Didn't see anything on ESPN. been on their site!

REAL MADRID president says arsenal have never made an offer for hig. marca

Shalom_ajul

Agree1 Disagree0

I'm sorry you believe Perez?

Sky report we sent representatives to tie up a deal and you think we haven't even made a bid, several newspapers who are reliable, several websites reporting wehave a done deal for him. His Father and Brother come out an speak about how close he is to signing.

Don't believe everything the media throw at you, we will sign him. We will not sign Suarez as we won't make a second bid.

As for Cesar ESPN during the Confederations Final verbally reported it google ESPN Arsenal sign Cesar.

Agree1 Disagree0

Don't know how to read this post - is he saying we can only negotiate one deal at a time. Surely it would have made sense to get all deals done as soon as possible, then get all the new players off to the tour of the Far East together.

Agree0 Disagree0

Of course that makes sense 'smartie1947' but we all know things in football don't always go to plan. Perez is trying to play a game right now, Fellaini well I personally feel he will come after we sign Higuain.

As for the fan above 'Shalom_ajol' do you remember when our season ended and Gazidis spoke in an interview responding to why we haven't signed anyone. He said a some clubs haven't yet appointed managers.

Have faith our team will be strong enough to title contend next season.

The mind games have begun. perez stating Arsenal have never made an offer for Higuain. Not even the 27 mill Euros.

Stating that they intend to keep higuain.

Believable23 Unbelievable16

I don't know. There is no real evidence that we have made an offer. No one at AFC has confirmed or denied (nor should they).

I just wonder how much of this story has been fuelled by the fans and the media.

Don't get me wrong, I would love this to happen. I'm just not totally convinced. It's not the way I have ever seen Arsenal do business in the transfer market (from memory at least).

justagooner

Agree1 Disagree1

Lies, Fibs and half-truths. The typical Arsenal fans diet. Fed to us by the Management. Still, some way to go yet and miracles do happen!

Agree0 Disagree2

The bid was very real. reputed journalists and bigwigs, don't just make stuff up, like some on here.

Suarez bid also was quite real. With new age media, there no longer is transparency. I could doubt the fees involved, but to categorically state we have not made a bid, is just insulting us.

I really do hope we land suarez and then they can keep an unhappy Higuain, and Barcelona should just demolish them in their head to head encounters.

Agree0 Disagree1

When it comes to P. R. and keeping fans in the loop, then Arsenal are abysmal. I accept we don't need to know the precise details of every transfer, but surely in such a transfer, we can at least be told if a bid has been made, without knowing the quantum of it. All info on this move emanates from Madrid, and that is simply not good enough.

Agree2 Disagree0

My view is that we have been doing this for some years now the club keeps talking up big name signings.
Always post losing them to other teams ie Chelsea, city, utd etc that we will only pay sensible sums for quality. They are still doing it to us guys promising so much and delivering so little!
Unfortunately this is the new Arsenal a commercial monster that uses the fan base to suck up Hugh profits every year and in return we all get 4th place! Expect more of the same. From Kroenke sports enterprises!
I went on talk sport 2years ago and stated he was asset stripping the club expect two more experienced players to be sold same every year. Oh and don't forget the cheap 1/2/3 million pound signings we get as a token each year. don't forget The club received £60 million tv revenue and we still won't spend it!
Has anyone done analysis on the accounts big clue how companies that control over companies take the money management fees, and inter company service charges please someone with some determination exposé this monster and save us from the laughing sock we have become.

Agree0 Disagree0

Are Arsenal actually going to buy anybody or just make a load of high profile unrealistic bids.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2013 19:18:33
i agree with Ed0027 on this. perez is a lying person

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2013 15:29:17
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez says there's been no offer from Arsenal for Higuain.

I quote: "We don't want him to go. furthermore nobody from Arsenal has come here, or made an offer, not £27euro, nothing. There is no offer"

So there you go, this explains why Higuain hasn't signed. We haven't offered. Now I wonder how much of this original story has been hyped by the media alike.

justagooner {Ed027's Note - We offered, we have agreed, he is just a...

Believable19 Unbelievable16

Not Arsenal rumours, but David Villa has agreed to join Atletico Madrid for 5. 1 Mill Euros. Which means he won't be joining the Spurs.

which means the striker pool just gets smaller and smaller.

Im beginning to worry that we won't even have a fallback option.

If gomez was our fallback, he is gone, and now so has villa. Lewandowski is off to Bayern in a year, and Cavani and Falcao are starting a french revolution.

Higuain, Suarez, Rooney, jovetic only credible strikers remaining, in that order for me.

Agree3 Disagree0

I for one am now sick of the BS and just want to get the deals done. If we lose out on the Hig, Rooney and Fellani then serious questions have got to be asked of the board or whoever is supposed to conducting our transfer dealings! Feels like another year of transfer dissapointement to me.
BAS.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree Ed he is chatting complete rubbish there we have agreed a deal and fee their trying to scupper the deal demanding more cash.

Agree0 Disagree0

From what I can gather, his agent said he would not move/talk to another club unless Real had agreed a deal/or given him the nod, seems he got it and personal details were done in quick time, then Real wanted more money, seems to me he trying to make AFC out to be the bad boys in all this when its Real who are messing us around. Again have never heard of a fee being agreed and then hours later more millions being added on, ok nothing was signed and it is up to them to say yes or no to the deal, fine I can live with that. but adding on more after a deal has been struck. never heard that happening before.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2013 15:10:54
I have it on extremely good authority that AFC are still quietly pursuing Rooney. There were apparently meetings over the weekend in London between Rooney's represenatives and senior AFC officials. Higuain is likely to go through this week with Felliani certain to follow. Any potential movement for Rooney will depend on the quality of additional signings and the wage package. AFC will not match his current package but he knows that nobody else will either, including MUFC.

Believable19 Unbelievable21

If rooney is available then Chelsea will be his destination. they are in need of a striker badly. especially one with rooney's qualities

Agree0 Disagree1

Lakerville I believe you are absolutely right about Chelsea being in for Rooney. But he is not available as in his club want rid it's more a case of their are obvious issues with Rooney wanting assurances in the side and some other details we don't know why he is believed to want a new challenge. His former Assistant Manager believed he could leave and hinted that in an interview but I think Wayne isn't going to come out and make a formal request to leave as he did before, knowing it's knock on effects. Chelsea are reportedly in for Jovetic too though as well as Hulk and they're keeping Lukaku it would seem. There is still a chance he could join us.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2013 15:10:51
Florentino Perez had a conference earlier and Higuain was mentioned it dosent look good does it? "As of now, he won't go. Besides, Arsenal have NOT made a 27m offer for him or anything. There is no offer. "

Actually gutted about this I really hope there are better cards under wengers sleeve. Why can't these signings be as simple as it should be.

Benjamin Gunner {Ed027's Note - He's a lying kn*b ain't he

Believable12 Unbelievable7

Just for that I hope wenger, pays 40mill for Suarez and he can keep his unhappy gonzalo Higuain.

Not only will he not be able to sell Gonzalo, but he won't have a stellar name to add to his galactico range, if we nab suarez, considering, cavani and Falcao will be nabbed by then.

Come one wenger. as unlikely as it is. put in a 35 mill bid and see Florentino piss his pants.

Agree1 Disagree0

Except Suarez wants to leave England because of the press here. I doubt any English club including Liverpool can keep him in England.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2013 05:43:52
Hey eds! I heard that Arsenal made a bid of 30 million pounds for Suarez and it got rejected. Any truth to this and what are your thoughts on it? Who would you like to see in this transfer window? Thanks! I'd like to hear others opinions as well! Haha {Ed029's Note - ED02 said that he understands that there was an offer made on Thursday afternoon.}

Believable30 Unbelievable14

08 Jul 2013 09:48:02
It seems like it was an offer made mostly for reasons other than buying the player tbh. Maybe to help with the higuain negotiation etc.

But at the same time if it was accepted for that price arsenal would have been happy.

Speculation ofc

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi Ed! Does that mean Arsenal wanted Suarez and Higuian? Did Arsenal try and look at Suarez as an alternative? That is serious ambition from a Liverpool fan!

However sometimes I think Arsenal get linked with top players that they could afford but don't want too. I have suspicions they do it to keep you lot happy. let's be realistic Arsenal know 30m will not get Suarez and he won't move there anyway as I don't think you lot pay much which is probably what matters most.

Thanks. {Ed029's Note - From what Ed02 has explained it won't be both.}

Agree0 Disagree0

This all smacks of desperation. Suarez is a quality player but comes with baggage and also a lengthy ban at the start of he season. Why can't we just get all of our deals done and stop messing around. I think that yet again we have been told a complete pack of lies about available finances. If we had that much available surely we can afford to "pay over the odds" to get the right players in. The consequences of not finishing in the top 4 are much more than juts a couple of million. Same old story I am afraid - all talk and no action - fed up!

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah I agree. Because I've been seeing that it was used to push the deal for Higuain. But I think it was made thinking that it would be rejected in hopes that it will make Higuain get wrapped up quicker, and also if Liverpool happened to accept the bid. GREAT! I think it was used almost as a win win situation. It makes sense to me. How bout anyone else? haha

Agree1 Disagree0

Sign the Hig. It's so simple. Arsenal fans deserve a high class striker after losing rvp.
Pay what Real want and make it happen totally fed up.

Aussie Gooner

Agree1 Disagree0

Suarez is undoubtedly one of the best strikers in the world and yes he does come with baggage but personally would love to see him at arsenal and i'm sure wenger would get the best put of him. Out of suarez and huguain suarez is the better option in terms of a proper out and out striker

Agree1 Disagree0

Arsenal not willing to increase bid for Higuain, is what I have heard. The offer on the table is over Higuain's Market value to them.

Madrid, seem to want to keep higuain, but he wants a more prominent role, which will be unlikely, hence his move is still 50/50.

Ibrahimovic wants a move to madrid, if they sign Cavani. His agent is trying to push a move if they sign Cavani. Chelsea are also looking at Ibrahimovic. (not sure how that reunion will go)

Madrid do not want to pay over £35 mill for Suarez. liverpool want over £40 mill, unless he asks for a transfer then the value will drop. Liverpool are going to buy another player in anticipation of late bids for Suarez in the last week of the transfer window.

Marseille not willing to offer over 6 mil for gervinho, arsenal looking closer to 10 mil, lyon also interested.

and last but not least Arsenal expecting a bid for Koscielny if Thiago Silva moves to Barcelona.

Agree0 Disagree0

and also. thanks for the reply Ed0029! haha love the page guys!

Agree0 Disagree0

Utter Madness! The guys banned for 10 matches. and who knows what else he will resort to on the pitch. I say get the Hig snapped up asap so the squad can set off on tour and properly prepare for the start of new season. Devongooner

Agree0 Disagree0

The liverpool echo which is always bang on says liverpool want a higher fee than Torres coupled with a suarez transfer request! I think he's staying to be honest.

Agree0 Disagree0

I see this as Arsenal threatening Real Madrid, if they're going to be T**ts over Higuin, then we'll push up the price on Suarez.
In any case, that's what I'd do! haha

ColbyGarry

Agree0 Disagree0

Belated move to rush thru the Higuian transfer.

Wenger and Arsenal are way to naive in the transfer market

Agree0 Disagree0

We never prepare properly for the new season as we always leave it too late to bring in new "quality" players - I just don't get why the penny has not dropped about this yet - perhaps the club is to busy counting the pennies instead!

Agree0 Disagree0

I concur with many of the respondents. Why on earth are Arsenal bidding for Suarez? I agree he is a World class striker but he also comes with a lot of baggage and he wants to leave England, not Liverpool. I believe Higuan is a better option and why is Arsene ignoring someone like Remy of QPR. Remy already experience in the premier league. I see more turmoil before Arsenal finally get their man and he won't be who we - the fans - are expecting - AGAIN.

Arsenal set to swoop for higuain for a fee believed to be at 26million. But ther is another twist xabi alonso is set to join for 13mill.

Arsenal are going to bid for fellaini but only 19million for the Belgian.

Arsene wenger is searching for a great cb but is having second thoughts so he will buy a young cb to compete with for Miquel.
