Wayne Rooney has left the Manchester United training ground - and sources understand he has yet to hold talks with manager David Moyes over his future.

this is a bit of a bummer. I wanted to know asap where we stand with him

3434

1.) Hopefully, where we stand with him is about a million miles apart. give or take.

2.) After the mess being made with Higuain don't expect any of the big names Arsenal's been linked with to actually move to the club. I can see Ligue1 being raided and a move for Benteke. The Gareth Barry story sounds like it has a lot more credit to it than peole think.

3.) But who has linked them? No one at Arsenal football club that's for sure.

4.) Lol yeah gareth barry story lots of credit coming from a web site and the sun. get real

5.) The 32 year old Barry? Are we moving forwards or backwards?

6.) Wenger out now because he taking the ARSENAL down the drain!

7.) It's 10:30 at night and my ribs have only just stopped hurting after reading that Gareth Barry story,, seriously Barry?

8.) Ha there is no way Barry will come to Arsenal. this is just the media playing on the fact that we are going for a dm. personally I think Wenger will get Fellani for a DM role

9.) 04 Jul 2013 05:34:08
The mess with Higuain, what mess is that then?
The deal not being done as quick as you would like is not a mess, it means your impatient and not really clued up

10.) Barry wrote the artical himself :/

How likely is it that Arsenal want Benzema? And would madrid let him go if we went in for him?

And on a separate note, what do people think about Bony from Swansea? My view is that he would be a perfect fit for the striker we need. Would be interested in other peoples views

3434

1.) I would be amazed if we got Benzema. IMO he is world class and would be unbelievably good for us.

Not going to happen though.

As for Bony, again, I'm not really sold on the guy. He's a good player but I just think we need to look and get better players in.

2.) Why would he want to come to Arsenal? IMO he has a better chance of winning things were he is, for now anyway

Has anybody actually seen this Alvaro Morata play? I haven't so I was wondering if anybody could tell me what sort of player he is and if he'd be a good fit at arsenal

3434

1.) He is technical, good finisher and has some height 6'2 I believe. He still has a lot of development and filling out to do as never really had a run of games at Madrid.

2.) I have seen him play and have been impressed. He is tall, athletic and has a good finish on him. He shows good composure In front of goal. How would he get on with the physical nature of the PL is not known, but in my opinion is definately worth a punt. Madrid rate him highly and that's why they don't really want him to leave, but he himself I believe desperately wants to play regularly. He has been impressive for the under 21s when I have seen him. Personally I believe if he played for the next 6 months for any team he would shine and be pushing for a place at the world cup, and I think he knows it as well. Morata to us makes perfect sense for us and for him, but not for real. If we did get him on loan it would be a good deal for us short term and also gives Wenger 6 months to work his magic and get in his head. I would love this to happen.
Flybo

3.) Not entirely sure what to think of Morata.

He has potential to be world class, but at that point, its likely Madrid come in for him again.

Just Read Ed002 comment on morata that loan option with an option to buy maybe a viable option, and with Madrid Surely to recruit a Forward in the summer aka Suarez, i'm not sure Morata is a player who will wait 3-4 years for an opportunity.

In regards to wengers thinking, quite a few players will be on the market this summer, with the likes of Benzema, Diego Costa, Jackson Martinez, Rooney, Mandzukic, so on and so forth.

So to agree to Morata anything other than a short term option may not be what we are looking for.

Im Still holding out for a striker this window, and we have around 22 days to do so.

4.) Been a fan of Morata a long time

Have a feeling if Florentino focused on being a club Pres and not footy matters, Morata would be playing more

If we got him on the permanent, he will be a game changer in due time

I've always stood by Wenger when loads of fans were doing the whole #wengerout stuff, I always argued his case. So now I ask how all those people who wanted to sack him, how do you feel now? Without wenger we would NOT have signed Özil. He was key in that signing. You just have to read what he said after he was confirmed. So in my opinion it's time to sign a new contract, 3 or 4 years maybe. If be interested to read any replies

3434

1.) Mate I'm totally with you, I agree with a lot of you, I think he was a bit too cautious in spending the money.
Like he said if it was a special player like Suarez and Ozil, he'd spend it.
I think we all know Ozill will be a success and I think we will see a change in his spending. In the next few windows I reckon he will only add 1 or 2. But biggies.
You make a good point, massive players like Higuain, Suarez and Ozil were more than happy to go and play for him.
It could be worse, we could have Moyes. I don't think he's blinked from 11 o'clock last night.

2.) He bought one very very good player but only got got three other players who are average at best. I don't want Wenger out but I woulda liked more signings

3.) Sorry mate can't agree with you at all. All this should have been done and dusted ages ago we've signed 1 top player Ozil, Flamini on a free and well Sanogo I will reserve my judgement on him at the moment as so far he hasn't set my world alight. No I think that Wenger has had a good run now and hope he bails out gracefully. If a suitable replacement turns up maybe someone like Klopp I would be happy to wave him good bye. Just like we need changes on the pitch we also need changes in management they should go hand in hand.

4.) Great signing, but there should be no new contract for Wenger until end of season. let's see what he can do. Don't even need trophies, just for the team to show true competitiveness and not just going for the 4th place trophy.

5.) Just because he signed a player dosen't mean he should get a new contract. It's the very least he could do, after all he is our manager he is supposed to buy world class talent for a world class team.

He hasn't redeemed poor decisions of the last few years with one signing. And maybe Ozil would not be done without him but what's to say another manager wouldn't have gotten higuain or cavani or any number of players.

Im not a Wenger out person by the way but I don't agree with what you said in the slightest

6.) All Wenger needs to do in the next few windows is buy 1 world class striker, and 1 world class CB. If he does that then we will be a team challenging for the title. A new manager would not do anything differently. The only difference is that new players trust Wenger totally. So he can help our transfers. And players like coming to stable clubs

Man U have approached Özil's representatives to buy. Now I'm really worried. I thought this would be our one big deal

3434

1.) Arsenal r probably offering ozil 70k per week. Utd could really use Ozil. Sure they will offer him 150+ and that will be that.

I actually don't want him to go on loan. My reason behind this is because he is so young I think that he will be very impressionable. Sending him to another club so early could completely change his play. So I think Arsenal need to keep hold of him for a few more years in the reserve team and then promote him to the first team whens he's 18/19

Do we know if we got any money for him?

Would be a good signing as a squad rotation player. but not really the world class we need right now. even though I would like him here

We don't want him to go on loan, we need to sell him

Wenger has always had a soft spot for Ramsey. That's why he always plays him (even when he's out of form). So I don't think he'd get rid of him like that

I'm annoyed to like most fans, but I really do think that after 1 game in a season it's a bit early to say that don't you think?
