i think from now on when a player goes to madrid, you can almost definitely guarantee we will have no interest.

they are a petty arrogant club and I hope athletico use the money from the falco sale wisely and push them down a league place.

maybe it dates back to them chasing viera every season for a few years and we turned them down only to sell him to juve wasn't it?

anyways the whole thing seemed like sour grapes to me

good luck to the hig, it could have been special {Ed052's Note -

Arsenal are looking to sign france under 20 international Gilbert Imbula.

Ive only watched a couple of clips of this guy but he reminded me of everything I liked about diaby

Odds have been brought in on all the major betting sights for Arsenal signing Rooney. Still can't see it but would be happy with it as a statement of intent! I would prefer Higuan though.

Nice to see a few positive posts on here for a change.

Wow is all I have to say, WOW. Out of all the Madrid players we were linked with, Ozil was the one I thought least likely and yet here he is signed sealed and delivered, HAPPY DAYS!

Long may Real Madrids stupidity continue if its going to benefit us like this in the future. They truly have more money than sense.

Would have been nice if the Ba deal had came off as not that long ago he was scoring for fun in the EPL but Ozil should mean Podolski and Walcot will get their chances up front now.

There has been quite bit of in-fighting going on here recently and someone mentioned we are being laughed at on other teams pages, WELL hopefully that can stop now and we all get behind team and manager alike.

This could be the catalyst for a very good season for Arsenal. Chelski have admitted we are contenders by pulling the plug on the Ba deal. An action humiliating for them yet a compliment for us.

I honestly think its time to start practicing your smug expressions boys ;-)

thought i'd attempt to distract the grumpy doom and gloom posters on here with a question.

Can anyone remember the last Scottish international to play for Arsenal?

Ive been wrecking my head and I can't think

Two hours to kick off and feeling hopeful, COYG!

Arsenal Forever

1.) Don't know if he was the last but Charlie Nicholas comes to mind

2.) He scored for leicester against us in 2004.

3.) Charlie Nicholas is the only one I can think of.

4.) 01 Sep 2013 14:38:12

Flamini is done and dusted now. Two year deal with possibility of a third.

Now before people on here start about what the boyos across the fence have spent this season, let's look at we have just acquired, FOR FREE.

An experienced defensive minded midfielder who has played in the top European divisions for top European teams throughout his career.

A player who knows the manager, knows the staff, knows the north London rivalry and knows what is expected of an Arsenal player.

A player who's versatility will almost certainly be utilised before seasons end, given the regularity of injuries to our squad from the 'lets kick the arsenal' teams in the EPL. Also importantly a player who will kick back.

This was good business for us. Give him time to prove it this season and if it doesn't work out, he's got to be worth at least £1M to a promoted team or someone in France next season.

Squad player or regular starter? Time will tell but I can guarantee other clubs will be envious of this transfer, UTD included.

Arsenal Forever

1.) Agreed, worth having on board with CL experience and could even mix it with the youth for the carling cup run.

2.) Flamini signing is NOT on Arsenal.com, NOT on BBC.co.uk and NOT on Sky.com so what makes everyone think this is a done deal and that he will be lining up to knock seven shades out fo the spurs on Sunday?

3.) Wow Flamini! I am so excited I will have to change my draws. Is that the best we can muster . Forget about great players want to play in the Champions League imagine this scenario . Agent to great player " You're in luck Arsenal want you, great history, fantastic supporters, beautiful stadium and they are in the Champions League "
Great Player :- " That's fantastic who will I be playing with?"
Agent :- "Errrr no one you've ever heard of! "

Unless something happens with Suarez to Madrid, Benzema is a no go.

An agent coming out and saying that doesn't leave much hope.

In fact it actually makes it look like Benzema has no interest in joining us, otherwise his agent would be trying to stir things up by:

A: Getting the transfer done, in which he would be entitled to a large fee for his services.

or

B: Go back to Real looking improved terms for his client given the interest from us. (Agents are usually entitled to a percentage of a clients earnings)

On another note, a nice win yesterday with two very good finishes from Podolski. The team looked great on the counter but it would have been nice to keep a clean sheet!

I know he's an ex spud but I reckon we should have went for Darren Bent. The guy has that uncanny knack of being right place right time and with todays inflated market, he would have been a bargain squad player.

About a month back I posted asking how everybody would feel if flamini came back and now it looks like its going to happen.

Now to the untrained eye that might look like a lucky guess but I've been IN THE KNOW the entire time

My girlfriends aunt has a friend who is married to a man who works with a guy that likes to jog in the area that wenger lives and he stops regularly to have a conversation with Wengers gardener, who is a nosey sort that likes to poke through Arsenes cupboards and steal toilet roll when the Wengers are not at home. SO YEAH i'm pretty clued in to what's going on at the Emirates ;-)

Have not posted in awhile as everything has been so doom and gloomy since the villa game.

Remember last season, when we needed to pull the finger out and every game we played was like a cup final. Well because of that motha fuggn Villa result this ENTIRE season is going to feel like that. Pretty exhausting.

I've read the harsh criticism Wenger/board have been getting on here with people threating to give up season tickets etc and I urge them for their own sake to reconsider.

As bold an action as it seems, it would only go unnoticed as someone will happily step in to pay for the seat. The only person losing out would be themselves .

It seems like nothing short of a pitch invasion will make this current board take notice of the fans but let's hold that in reserve, get behind the team and for ONE MORE SEASON trust in Arsene.

P.S. The gardener also said that Wenger uses Double velvet loo roll. (WOW how the other half live)

Arsenal Forever

1.) Double velvet . NOT too SHABBY.

Always good to have a poster with REAL inside info, that is definitely not retroscpective.

Two thumbs up.

2.) I don't even know what double velvet is. you can imagine how poor I am

I agree what was said about a web site above, I once read an article that we had signed joe cole on a free transfer lol. Still it is hard not to get disgruntled when everyone else around us seems to have no problem securing their targets and we drag our feet

I just read on a website, he is scared arsenal will wreck his 'dream' move by not activating the release clause. It also said the clause was £23m and not £22m

Scooby Dooby, you need to wise up! That specific games is mentioned because He was by far the Best midfielder on the pitch, playing against arguably the best team in the world and what age was he?

It will get to the point where specific games will not need to be mentioned when people speak of Wilshere but at his young age and the fact he spent a year out with injury, certain games are still fresh in the memory.

No one should forget that this kid is only really starting what should be an exceptional career with the gunners.

Im not English but I do like the England team. However, IMO JW10 can play as many flat games for England as he wants, as long as he performs for the Arsenal I don't care. Blame the English management.

Interesting debate. Can someone explain the abbrv HGH? For me personally its CR7. I watched him last night in Belfast and he was the difference between N.Ireland and Portugal, who btw are ranked 100 places above. Looked like we were going to cause an upset at one point until CR7 took it up a gear.

Ive always admired your dedication to the 'In Arsene we trust' brigade but you really are starting to lay it on thick my friend.

I see part of your point though.

There is a few names on here, who really should get tested for bi polar disorder, such is the u turn in their comments after the spurs win and ozil transfer
