so i'm hearing that Sporting Lisbon are interested in both Manchester United's Anderson and Newcastle's Chiek Tiote. Both DM's which has to be sign that Carvahlo is leaving! I hope we are serious about this kid because he looks like a world beater and less injury prone than Sami from Madrid

Ok So Real just signed the NEW ALONSO from Sociedad. surely that free's up Alonso to move on - how would you guys feel about signing Alonso from RM? I have heard a lot of murmurs about Arsenal signing two RM players - could that be Alonso and Hig?
How do people feel about this because although Alonso is old, I see the future of football being built around the Pirlo model - a deep lying DM who plays the QB role and reads play well.

It was rumoured at the time, we put a bid in for him when he was at Liverpool. under 18m. Wenger wouldn't go the extra 1m so he stayed. 18 months later he goes to Madrid for 30m. this is not the first time. Samba and the former Fulham keeper are two other examples. If he (Wenger) doesn't buy some real quality this summer I won't be buying anything from the club shop anymore. Ill rather buy my son a Real Madrid kit than the new away kit. 6 more weeks to change my mind Arsene. then we know if it was you all along who doesn't like spending money. Then our supporters might stop blaming the owner and board. I remember having a conversation with the simple minds singer Jim kerr a number of years ago. He told me that he knew Kenny Dalglish who told him he was never going to allow a player to earn more money than himself, being the manager at the time. Maybe Wenger doesn't think a player should earn more than his 7.2m per year. We won't have to wait long to find out. km

Ancellotti just announced as RM manager - so if the rumours are true. expect Higuain SOON! If not then i'm never logging onto this site again ;)

There is no pleasing us all really... ideally I personally would like us to sign Cech, Hummells, William Carvahlo, Vidal and I would have really Martinez but I hope we get someone like Cavani. NOT Higuain - 66m is a joke of a price tag!
i can't see us spending like that though..

and a random French defender signing as back up who can play LB and CB. Expect a disappointing summer lads!

I really prefer Carvahlo - he is the real deal! Glad we didn't get Kondogbia as i feel he is not an improvement on Coq!
We could always bring Song back for about 2m

A further couple of words - both are better defenders than Kos even though i agree we shouldn't let him go! we should be building on our squad but really if we replace Kos with Varane/Hummels then it won't seem too bad... just IMO

@ed25: But isn't be under 21 and therefore doesn't count towards the 25 man squad!? So keeping him at the club surely wouldn't hurt the numbers game?
I think he's in need of more experience, like JW10, JC (Joel Campbell not Jesus Christ) and other player who Wenger likes. Loaning him to a prem club gives him the minutes he needs to take the step from potential to BEAST

I am worried he will end up as the next phill jones! Used in too many positions and unable to master his true calling - be it CB/RB/DM OR WHEREVER! I don't see him as a RB personally but we shouldn't make him a utility man at such a young age he needs to master one position and we should buy a DM rather than out square pegs in a carvahlo shaped hole!

He's 22 and when he was played on the wing had some bad games, but you'd expect that when a player is played out of position, no? When ever he's played in the middle he's been pretty solid and only now are the "FIFA fans" at the emirates seeing that. Next you'll say Jacks game to goal ratio means he's not good enough either.
