A question for the Eds. Christian Benteke looked a threat this week. Last year he was over priced and I am glad we didn't buy him. He has struggled this year, but he was injured for a long time and was scoring goals before the injury. His value now has to be quite low.
My question is how much do you think Villa would sell him for and do you see any possibility that Arsenal would be looking at him.
I think he would be perfect right now if we could get him for say 10m (a price that we could probably on sell him for if he didn't work out). Transfermarkt had him at 10m a year ago.
I usually hate bargain basement buys, which has been our M.O. for the past decade, but in this case, I feel he could actually make the difference between 2nd/3rd and being premiers.

Is there any chance it could be a loan with a loan fee of 1m for 6 months. Very steep I know, but worth it because:
A) He is perfect for what we need this season. Somebody to come on for the last 20 minutes and replace Giroud. He would be a threat and give Giroud a rest.
B) He is not what we need next season. We need a Cavani or somebody of his level. If not, somebody close.
Draxler looks to be a genuine world class player that will have RM and BM beating down our door in a few years. 40m for a 20 year old is not as bad as it sounds in this inflated market. German players also have good resale value.
Plus, none of the strikers that we are being linked with are of the truly world class quality that we need anyway. Jackson Martinez is far too overpriced for just 1 or 2 campaigns. At 27 if he was ever going to be world class he would have by now. Costa is similar, one break out goal scoring year at 25 worries me.
