Lots of talk we are interested in Marc Guehi. Anyone reckon he would be a good fit for us?

Not sure who we drop to slot him in. He's not coming to us to play second fiddle to anyone, I don't think.

It's a strange link to see, and it would be a lot of money for him to come and warm our bench.

Likely just the rumour mill as usual. His agent is probably drumming up as much interest as he can.

I don't see why his agent needs to drum up interest when Liverpool is still interested in bringing him in during the summer and he's still interested in making that move. It's more likely that the news sites who are panicking and trying to generate clicks on their articles.
This Jan transfer window has been very quiet so far and the only big transfer (Semenyo to Man City) was done smoothly with no drama. They need stories to survive and if there isn't one, they'd just create one to remain relevant.

I would be surprised if there was not a long precedent of agents and selling clubs shopping their client/player around so that they had better leverage in wage negotiations and so that the selling club were able to recoup more of a fee.

That definitely happens wire. I'm just saying that I don't see it happening in Guehi's case. On the contrary, I feel that his agent would be better placed to keep him where he is now and go on a free at the end of the season so that he can get a huge signing on fee and potentially higher agent fees.

Fair point. Perhaps it's Palace then, as I imagine losing him on a free would be disastrous for them.
