So if David Ospina signs for roughly £3m then Wenger will have splashed around £50m on three players.

With a supposed £50m left in our transfer kitty and two players needed (CDM and CB if and when Vermaelen leaves). How would you spend it?

CDM: Carvalho, Vidal, Khedira, Bender, Schneiderlin

CB: Hummels, Varane, Schaar etc

I really hope Smalling is not realistic option. I don't understand why we would give United a target they want and take someone they don't want away from them.

Personally for me Phil Jones is a better option then Chris Smalling. I would be angry if we signed the latter he has a bad attitude and isn't ever going to be good enough. Where as Phil Jones in my opinion could be decent. Him and Schneiderlin please.

{Ed025's Note - both very poor for me HCE, they are stoppers and ok at defending to a certain degree, but with the ball at their feet they are woeful mate, in a word..hooooooooof..
