We all know Arsene always prefers one up top so, if Deadly Dan does good in the absence of Monsieur Giroud, and scores a fair amount, does Olly come back as our main striker or does Danny boy keep his place as our No.1?

Or, two up top?
Personally, I would love to see what they are like as a twosome.

What say you?

I'm guessing it will depend on how many a fair amount is, if he's putting them away for fun along with Sanchez and Walcott he'd be mad to drop him.

Equally I'd be amazed if he went too up top, he only overloads our attackers when we're getting desperate.

I note that looker Louis Van Gash has said today he let him go because he simply didn't score enough.

I don't think Danny Boy has come to us to play second fiddle to Giroud, once he is fit again.
Welbeck has come here to get regular playing time, and to be honest, by the time we get to the new year, with Walcott back playing as well, Giroud could find it hard to get a full 90 mins.
Not sure if Welbeck and Giroud would work together though.
Really excited about Welbeck, he could be a massive player for us now, and the future.
Wish I could be at the game on saturday, but couldn't get a ticket.COYG

Nice dilemma for Arsene

{Ed007's Note - Yeah, it's like asking what bollock you would rather have cut off. Why did Wenger get rid of Bendtner and sign Welbeck when Georgios Samaras was available on a free?}

Ed,

Good shout Samaras, especially as you said, on a freebie.

Win/win.

{Ed007's Note - I'd probably rate Samaras as good as Welbeck, obviously WBA disagree, they signed Samaras instead!}

5.) 12 Sep 2014
Lol well looks like ed is a bit bitter. Sounds like a Manchester United fan from Surrey maybe? On a serious note though, you're entitled to your opinion, but Welbeck is clearly a better footballer than him. He's certainly younger. And if you did in fact support Manchester United as I expect, isn't a bit short sighted to get rid of a young striker who has never got a chance to play up front regularly, and keep a player with his best years firmly behind him and a bog fat tummy in front of him, and a striker that spent about 5 years of the 7 before he moved to you out Injured and hasn't hot form for a year, and get a new striker who's not been fit for quite a while and, if rumours are to be believed, has pretty shot knees?

6.) 12 Sep 2014
People where on here crying out for a god like striker. Samaras fits the bill

7.) 12 Sep 2014
He is a Herculean kinda chap to be fair ulster. Kinda looks like a spartan as well. God ed you've sold it to me. Get samaras in!

8.) 12 Sep 2014
I'd bring him in as competition for Szeneny and Ospina. I read somewhere once that jesus saves

Ed007 is a die hard Celtic supporter

10.) 12 Sep 2014
It will be intersting for sure when Giroud gets fit, as to where they all fit in, athough wellbeck can be used out wide I rather walcott and Sanchez take those spots. At least now Giroud has some genuine competition for his place which will keep both on their toes.

Welbeck played a lot of our season we lost out to city on gd upfront mate, he got 2 league goals!

Maybe its a bit funny u now lording him before he's even kicked a ball ( or fallen over it lol)

{Ed007's Note - You've had the Cruyff Turn, the Ronaldo Step-Over now we've got the Welbeck Fall-Over-Ball.}

CR, don't be bitter - he played 25 games last season (most out of position) and got 9 goals in the league.

Or did he fall over 9 times and the ball bounce off him?

Obviously 337 reading is not your forte lol I said the season we lost on Goal Difference, the year city first won the PL!

Danny played a lot of the season in his favoured position and scored TWO goals, I just find the creaming over a player before he's kicked a ball for u funny.

Hell I must have missed that, somebody lording Welbeck up.

I'm guessing United buying two world class players to add to the zero they had before is something to get chipper about.

At least they managed to hang on to Anderson, Valencia, Carrick, Smalling, Jones, Young, Fletcher, Fellaini and Evans, they will make the difference coming of the bench ;-)

You got to love em :-)

Lol red dog u have got to get over this united complex u have my friend, simple fact is many arsenal fans have been claiming welbeck as the 2nd coming! I said many times I feel he will do well for u just u lot need to calm down a bit!

Remember he was our 5th choice striker and I would call any1 a liar if our 1st 3 strikers would not of been preferred than Danny.

Welbeck was put on the wing for a reason my friend.

CR, just to clarify my reading is fine, but surely a player should be judged on 'recent form' not past?

I could pick a season from the great TH14 time at juve where his stats were worse than DW, but as we know once he joined the mighty Arsenal things changed slightly!

Now bugger off back to your own page
