I like the ruthless approach Arteta has taken with the squad. It was so needed, Ozil, Mustafi, Sokratis, Luiz, Willian, Kolasinac, Mari etc, etc, all needed moving on so we could build a better team.

I do worry that we look a bit like plums this week though. Only my opinion, but having the NLD called off, then loaning out 6 players in the following week just looks odd.

Again, I believe these moves are needed, clearing squad spaces and wages allowing us the platform to keep building. Had the NLD gone ahead none of this would have mattered, but the timing is awful haha.

There doesn't appear to be a lot of awareness of future implications of actions at club, there doesn't seem to be anyone to say ' hang on how on how will this look or effect future dealings "

When we went for Arteta why didn't just ask city before contacting Mikel behind thier backs?

Why didn't we just inform Athletico we were going to activate Parteys release clause?

Doing things in a dignified way cost nothing but builds up good relationships for the future rather than resentment that will possibly come back to cuase you problems in the future, it's all so avoidable and unnecessary.

There is a huge feeling in football that Arsenal fooled the premier league last week making the premier league rule makers look silly, why make them look even more foolish with this?

Embarrassing the rule makers by highlighting their mistakes less than a week after you've very publicly had them over isn't a smart thing to do, as I'm sure we will discover later down the line

Job vacancy! Looking for someone with the ability to think before taking action, please apply Arsenal football club asap.

A bit harsh John

I for one is happy with the way the club is run now

How many times did city tap up our players in the Wenger years.

All bang on G62. Historically, i've been very proud of our club. We've always been known to be 'classy' and do things the right way. I think Wenger and super David Dein were a huge part of that.

However, the past few years have led to many head scratching moments where we, quite sadly, look foolish. Like mentioned, I think the ruthless squad changes were/ are absolutely needed, but that shouldn't come to the detriment of the image of this great club.

Should have played the NLD for me. Pretty confident we could have got something decent from the game, instead we look a little naive on reflection with so many departures.

We would have looked more naive if we got beat. There are louder critics out there who would be shouting for MA's head if that had happen.

We all criticize those players loaned out, so maybe we should be patient the club is very likely clearing way for a smaller but stronger squad whilst being frugal to pay more to attract better players.

Yes we were seen as a classy club the way we conducted business. How much inelegant or excessive non football money we have seen come into the business. Wenger himself said FFP will catch up with certain clubs, but he then changed his tune.

Wenger said. “I always did plead for it. Today, I am not convinced that we can maintain it. Football is maybe only at the start of a huge financial investment. It has become the most powerful sport in the world. It means do we have to open the door completely to investments? It is a question we have to raise because, at the moment, it looks like we have created rules that cannot be respected. There is nothing worse than when you create rules that are not respected.

“Maybe we are at the crossroads and we have to think, do we open it with complete freedom to investment for people like the Chinese and Americans, who want to invest here [in England]? If you want to remain the best league in the world, that is certainly the way we have to go.

“Do I want to get rid of financial pair play? I think so because there are too many legal ways to get around it. The question, at least, has to be raised. At the moment, it looks like you can buy clubs in China and get the players there, and buy them in other clubs, then get them, after, here. You can get around [FFP]. Am I convinced that, at the moment, the rules are strong enough to make it respected? I’m not sure. ”

Think we got away with the NLD postponement very luckily. Still of the opinion we should have played it. As for the image of the club we have had it tarnished by events and certain individuals over the last few years but so have a lot of other clubs.
