See Benny Sesko move is facing a new challenge from the Middle East.
1.) 10 Jun 2025 11:37:14
I've read he still wants European football Banbury. Hope so!
2.) 10 Jun 2025 12:58:58
I hope so Sally, let's get it done eh?
3.) 10 Jun 2025 23:06:47
Surely the biggest issue is us trying to get him for way less than buy out amount or whatever the term is. Lowballing offers ?.
4.) 11 Jun 2025 09:25:50
Feck it let's pay whatever they want ( it’s called negotiating) and once we’ve paid too much whacked his wages through the roof and he’s not that great we can moan all season a bit like Kai perhaps? Also maybe that extra £10 mill might be the difference between getting say Garnacho ( NO! ) and Laeo. Cat the moment maybe we are choosing to slam the club and its transfer policy while knowing feck all! I apologise for language and trying not to labour the point ? COYG.
5.) 11 Jun 2025 18:45:15
Well said Cumbria mate ?.
6.) 12 Jun 2025 11:15:06
Sy I know we have a history of doing that, but I don't think that is the case with Sesko,
I believe he has a Movable (stupid idea) release clause, so I think the RB are chancing their arm a bit as they know we have chased for 2 years and now there is saudi money involved. I think we will get him for less than they are trying to say, as, according to all the reports, those have always been the figures talked about.
funny how Liverpool don't get the same criticism as arsenal for going in under a figure that the club wants. they are short of Wirtz asking price but have been largely applauded for making the offer.
7.) 12 Jun 2025 15:59:12
You’re right Hampshire, if true it’s Liverpool’s third bid! I say even if you will pay the full amount put in a lower offer. I guess it’s a fine line between taking the mick and a sensible lower offer! COYG.
{Ed014's Note - please tell me you’re not labouring this point Sussex! ?
8.) 12 Jun 2025 22:10:09
?? I’m labouring the labouring the point point COYG.

Sorry Sussex - are you saying Kai was a good purchase or are you painfully using him as a good example of a great negotiation? A player Chelsea probably could not believe anyone would want, getting 65m for EHI. egiving him the highest wage at the club while not being a player we needed. Strange point.
So if a house is on the market - offers over 2m. You think offering 1.2m is reasonable if the 2m probably isn’t a million miles away. Have you ever negotiated anything? It’s a stupid way of pretending you are interested or missing out on players you want ( sound familiar ) or getting them so late thst they don’t do preseason training with the club.
I’m not saying don’t negotiate as I’m not stupid enough to think 5m saved won’t get us a Chelsea keeper. Give me a break mate - I’ve been around and got a bit of experience. Picking Kai as example is laughable.
Crap negotiation for a player who isn’t good enough and we don’t need. That signing encapsulates what’s wrong with our club for me. Hard work over goals and not paying more for what we really need. Perhaps buying a player who’s easy to manage rather than a difficult winner who will be ruthless in front of goal but may be not track back. Was Wrighty a good defender or a good goal order. Or Anelka…. Neither of which we would sign as they like to score rather than defend.
11.) 15 Jun 2025 05:27:43
My post had nothing to do with Kai his transfer or ability! It was about you constantly slagging him off - labouring the point- and classicly you reply …. slagging Kai off! Oh and the club and MA. Not enlightening in any way shape or form, for me anyway COYG.
07 May 2025 12:00:05
Kudus
Reports that we are in for him from W Ham. surely not.
1.) 07 May 2025 14:31:34
Ed totally appreciate its way too early to be talking transfers. With K De Bryne out of contract and Martin under performing since becoming Vegan, Any whispers of any interest big or small in De Bryne who is apparently open to staying in the PL? He is 33 and would want a hefty Salary I imagine.
{Ed014's Note - I just can’t see that happening mate, I also don’t think he really has a lot left in the tank, injuries are an issue too, let alone, as you say, the likely size of his wages.
I hadn’t realised Odegaard had become vegan, I looked at him in the training photos yesterday and he looked so gaunt.
He looked ill to be honest.
2.) 08 May 2025 18:41:42
That's what I have been thinking ED14. He seems so gaunt in the face, I was worried it could be an eating disorder .
{Ed014's Note - hopefully what ever the issue is Sally he manages to resolve it over the summer, it was a little shocking to see him looking that way.
23 Jul 2024 10:18:06
Hi Eds
Any news on a potential Centre Forward, surely we need one?

can we not just go a week without picking up a knock.
1.) 04 Dec 2025 14:00:30
Hi B. G hope all’s well. according to sky sports Declan (the machine) rice is o. k and good to go against villa at the weekend, not heard any news on mossy. 18 games unbeaten in all competitions… not too shabby… one game at a time…COYG/VTH ?⚪️❤️.
01 Dec 2025 06:44:56
A very good point away from home, considering the starting line up.
Forget the 10 men nonsense, it's just as difficult, mind set changes completely, been there done that.
Chelsea are a very good outfit and will be challenging for sure.
On to Wednesday and another London Derby, that's 3 on the bounce.
24 Nov 2025 06:52:02
Great result well done lads EZE, buy of the summer, nice to see the injury list shorten also.
As a defender I would have gone mad at Martin Z and Arteta should do the same and no doubt about it Raya was too far off his line.
Onto Kane and CO now, a 1 niler will do and it will also do at the Bridge at the weekend.
1.) 24 Nov 2025 11:56:23
Two tough games coming up. This is something I have been dreaming about.
2.) 24 Nov 2025 13:04:33
Hi Banbury hope all good. Totally agree and go further to say Zubi, Madueke Hincapie Mosquera Gyorkeres and even Kepa as well as Eze have all bought into the system and performed well . I looked at Spuds bench and injury list which is littered with £40 / £60 Mill players who just have not performed.
Kudos to the buying team. On a separate note as a motto To Dare Is To Win - not vey daring yesterday, very very poor approach. Four goals from open play from the new Stoke! Very Happy at the moment COYG.
3.) 25 Nov 2025 06:47:32
Hi Sussex, yes all good mate.
Give Arteta credit he has eventually assembled the squad he wanted, strong all over, now I really really hope he can deliver, he has got us into a good place.
Spuds were woeful or maybe we are just so superior?
17 Nov 2025 07:15:18
I have to say why is there a need to play your main men in a friendly, Gabs is the outstanding performer in the PL this year, along with Haaland, so why bloody play him, I just don't get it.
1.) 17 Nov 2025 13:22:46
All internationals are main men for their clubs mate, regardless of whether they are Arsenal and Man City players fighting for titles or Burnley and West Ham players fighting against relegation.
Losing players to injuries is always really disappointing and even more disappointing when it happens on international duty but unfortunately it's part and parcel of football for all clubs who's players also play for their countries.
2.) 18 Nov 2025 13:38:42
As a club we should be a bit cleverer, SAF in his pomp pulled players out of internationals when they had a big week, its a known fact.
We should do the same especially when Friendlies are involved.
A little naive I think.
3.) 18 Nov 2025 16:50:08
But what about if a player wants to play for their country at every opportunity?
It seems England players don't want to miss out on any minutes in any games under Tuchel, maybe it's the same with Brazil. Preventing a player from playing for their country is against fifa rules and would most likely lead to the player themselves wanting to leave a club that tried to prevent them from doing so.
Its just one of those things unfortunately and like it or not we just have to suck it up and hope he's back soon.
4.) 19 Nov 2025 08:33:24
Back in the day, yes. But with club wages and bonus's the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow is in club football rather than international friendlies.
I think you are a tad blinkered if you think players are desperate to play for their country in a friendly . I'm talking established internationals here, not those desperate for a first cap.
5.) 19 Nov 2025 19:58:15
Bellingham seemed pretty annoyed to be subbed in a game that didn't matter and Rogers was apparently very upset not to start that same game, Kane and Rice both pretty well established internationals seemed happy to play too.
If a player really doesn't want to play for his country in a friendly or any other game it's hardly difficult to get out of playing mate. All the evidence points towards players wanting to play for their countries apposed to them being forced to do so against their free will to do otherwise.
Getting injured in an international is a risk every player knows exists but very few choose to opt out now days Ben White is obviously an exception to most player's now days.

Great Post from Highbury
Hi 62, Bill,
I admire your posts but we don’t have to be always philosophical, we can be critical of performances as well. We are in far better position as a club and team than we were 4 years ago but this position will demand more and any shortcomings will have to be analysed. We crumbled under pressure in the last three years so the point is that the team must be matured enough now to deal with it. Man City play before us after the break and if they win the gap is 1 point, under this pressure we must win in the NLD else doubts will start creeping in everybody’s mind including the players.
And something isn’t right with the amount of injuries we are seeing, we have a strong squad but they need to be available throughout the season, however, I am pretty confident we will achieve something by taking the next step this year!
An interesting stat for me is the Saka goal at Sunderland was his first outside of London April '24, I's expect better from such an attacking player.
I am a firm believer we will win a trophy this year, I also believe with a full squad to select from we will win a BIG prize. fingers crossed.
1.) 11 Nov 2025 14:03:11
Hi Banbury mate
For me we are in pole position, have our best squad in many years and there is every reason to think we are better equipped to see the job through that at any time over the past 20 years.
There will always be potential pitfalls and possible negative scenarios that could possibly happen at some point in what is for every team and unknowable future. Some Liverpool fans would have worried endlessly about potential pitfalls throughout last season until the title was finally clinched while other Liverpool fans would have really enjoyed the entire season making the most of what was happening rather looking fir things that might possibly go wrong for them.
To each their own of course but I'm really enjoying this season and i'm extremely optimistic about both our premier league and champions league chances.
2.) 12 Nov 2025 01:12:49
Hi BG,
Arseblog wrote something the other day that really resonated with me. It's important to remember that football is fleeting and just because we are doing well now, doesn't mean we necessarily will be in a year or two. It's important to temper criticism with a sense of perspective that things will not always be as good as this!
I think we would all agree that 3 points is better than 1 - we want the Arsenal to win, after all - and I don't think I've ever seen a fan who didn't allow a bit of rage or disgust when a late equaliser goes in against us. I think the difference between some of the fans on here is that some are more comfortable vocalising this criticism than others when we know how good we've got it right now.
Anyway, just my two cents here. Don't forget to enjoy what we've got in between the irritation.
3.) 12 Nov 2025 03:56:10
I thought we threw two points away very naively, but I also think we're 4 points less than 1/3 into the season and that's already exactly where we were hoping to be. So doom with optimism.
Until we win the league and get over that mental block, we will always be looking desperately over our shoulders. players and fans alike.
4.) 12 Nov 2025 06:50:48
Morning gooners!
We all are rooting for the same thing and hoping the best for our club, it’s just the different ways of looking at the present situation. I think the discussion started on the argument whether we lost two points or whether it is one of those games where any team may drop points. When we win without playing well, we say it’s a sign of a great team so when we drop points from winning position that may feel like we aren’t at it and with the demands of the league, we can criticise the team for it.
However, in each and every post, all of us agree that we are in a great position and will achieve something this season. So COYG!
5.) 12 Nov 2025 07:48:57
I totaly agree with that Wire and Banbury.
We will at some point return to being also rans apposed to main players in the league, it's happen to us before several times in our history and its happened to Liverpool City Chelsea United Everton more than once too. Whether that makes each of us even more desperate to win a big trophy now while we can or simply more determined to enjoy this positive period while it lasts no matter what it brings is of course a very personal thing for us all, but ultimately as Bill says we fans like our player's and manager all want the same things for our club.
6.) 12 Nov 2025 07:50:02
All differing opinions
All great posts
All Gooners
All hoping for great things this season and afterwards
Take care each and every one of you.
7.) 12 Nov 2025 14:02:05
Not sure I agree with the comments from other clubs' fans about us bottling it the last few years. Even neutrals could see we were short in depth and that therefore losing vital players like Saliba, Saka etc foe long periods made the race for the top extremely tough.
This year, however, things are different so if the same thing happens obviously questions need to be asked.
8.) 12 Nov 2025 17:50:24
Hi Sally, the bottling comments are just rival club banter and I've read loads of posts on our page over the years from our fans laughing at Spurs for bottling success, it's pretty much part and parcel of footballing rivalry.
I don't believe we've bottled anything i simply think our young team ran out of steam 3 years ago, last the title on the last day of the season to an excellent City team 2 years ago and last season ran out of first choice players. I totally accept it's now or never for Mikel but not for our current squad. If Mikel can't get this squad over the line this season he personally will have reached the end of the line with us but his successor will have a go with pretty much the same squad again next season.
Our current period of time at the top could very possibly last for another 5 to 10 years but as sure as eggs are bacon this time at the top of the table too shall pass and we will get a chance to emulate Spurs Europa league and Chelseas conference successes before too long. Make hey and enjoy the ? while it lasts.
Or as Winston Churchill once said " enjoy the war because the peace will be even more difficult to cope with once it arrives "
9.) 12 Nov 2025 22:45:54
Liverpool were 5 points clear of us after five games, now 8 behind - 13point swing, and I have been wondering where all the bottled it comments are, Sally.
10.) 13 Nov 2025 08:00:15
The bottled it comments you mentioned were directed at Arteta for his tactics against Liverpool which were poor. It was not a overall view of our season at that point.
11.) 13 Nov 2025 10:57:31
I was just referencing rival fans' comments over the last few years SW. I check out other sites and it often comes up.
12.) 13 Nov 2025 13:39:27
Bottlers, no history, bought trophies, cheats, they are all pretty much run of the mill insults exchanged between rival fans.
When their own clubs are doing well fans tend to focus on their own club but when other teams are doing better than them and getting all plaudits then fans tend to focus on finding fault with the superior team. It's when rival fans stop hating you and start feeling sorry for you that you know your club is at a very low point.

RIP and thoughts to all his family and friends.
05 Nov 2025 14:49:35
Yep 0-1 will do with an 89th minute own goal would be fine, most of the injuries are scheduled for the spuds game so the break should help.
