Folks, Liverpool fan in peace - just wanted to say what a game! Honestly thought yous were brill ??
The officiating will get a debate no doubt, but honestly thought Trossard was a twit - seems a difference if he was sent off for the charge or kicking the ball away but in all seriousness, he knew he was on a yellow and barged in like that? Come on fella, you're a professional you should know better!
That being said, yous defended very well with 10 men and unlucky to lose like that right at the death
Dangerous from the set plays - Gabriel a good goal though you would question the City set up - loads of Arsenal players at the back post so the City players all go to the front post? Aye, quality defending that lol keep it up - but take nothing away from the delivery or the goal, well executed
Califiori goal was an absolute cracker - he just stroked that in didn't he? Pure beaut.
Honestly a great game to watch - for the neutral! I'm sure it was nerve wracking for you guys but a great game.
1.) 23 Sep 2024 12:11:06
Thanks Bill and a reasoned assessment of the game unlike on your team`s page. Blimey Arsenal consistently one of the most attractive teams in last few seasons are suddenly Athletico Madrid, or Moanio or Big Sam parking the bus because of one half when down to 10 v City at theirs. It is not our philosophy - just look how many goals we scored last season. Talk about coloured spectacles or also known as bollox COYG.
2.) 23 Sep 2024 12:42:34
Thanks Bill, I'm pretty sure any other team would have defended against City in exactly the same way with 10 men.
Just watching Haaland's reaction towards Arteta, Jesus and Myles, I felt it was uncalled for. And don't get me started on the bounce off big Gabi's head.
And what are these dark arts being talked about? Lol
That said I just read an article suggesting we are too emotional and that might cost us in the long run. It was talking about how our defenders celebrate when Raya brings off a brilliant save, which perhaps causes them to lose concentration temporarily? Think this happened for City's last minute goal.
All the best for the rest ofnthe season Bill :)
3.) 23 Sep 2024 13:04:40
I'd say our new found appreciation and celebrating the stopping of goals every bit as much as we appreciate and celebrate scoring goals is a wonderful asset to have within our mentality, far better and way more consistently successful than the happy to win 5 4 mentality of old.
4.) 23 Sep 2024 13:10:55
Good morning everyone!
I watched clips of forehead mouthing off and generally being obnoxious. Talk about a lack of class and petulance.
And everyone is on about the "dark arts". Feck me people, it's a game of footie, not the World Voodoo Championship.
Was good seeing you in chat and interacting, Sally :)
Sus! Give me my watch back!
{Ed014's Note - has your daily weed input caused you to lose track of time Sharpie, its afternoon mate!
City trying to call anyone out with their history is hilarious.
Haaland is a fecking clown and a phuck ugly one at that!
5.) 23 Sep 2024 13:33:16
Mate, only got home at about 7ish (I think) . I needed a wee sleep. Also, it's morning somewhere in the world, I'm sure of it.
Saw that discussion on the Liverpool page. Maybe I'm alone in this, but I have to admire a guy who is so wrong but continues acting like he's right. Fake it till you make it, pecks ?
This guy obviously has previous form for being a dilldough because even Ed001 managed to exchange just 2 messages with him before giving up. Normally he's relentless about making his point ?
I'm not hung up on these 115 charges thing. For me, I don't think they should be charged at all. In fact, I think FFP is a stupid idea. If Sheikh Mohammed bin Toomuchmoney wants to buy a football club and plough billions into it, let him. If they run out of money and go into administration, that's on them. I just feel it stops any smaller teams from actually trying to grow. If FFP was a thing from the get-go, then sure, it makes sense.
And yes, forehead is a clown. Didn't like his antics one bit.
{Ed014's Note - ? ok I make you right on the morning thing!
What may I ask were you doing out until that time?
He was a muppet was our BP!
The 115 charges have just seemed a joke from the outset and nothing will come of it so what really is the point!
Forehead doesn’t like it as 99.9% of the time he gets nowt from Gabs and Big Sal!
6.) 23 Sep 2024 13:48:02
Thanks Sharpie, depends if I'm watching on the phone or not lol
62 I can see your point and I too love our togetherness and enthusiasm but it was an interesting take, and in this particular instance, with a packed goalmouth, I think it could be relevant. Not a problem if Raya has already booted the ball up the pitch lol.
7.) 23 Sep 2024 14:00:17
I was being obnoxious and rude to people mate. I mean, I was playing poker, but was mostly doing that other stuff ?
The irony of forehead telling Arteta to stay humble after just having asked Skelly who the f he is, is hilarious. Total plonk.
{Ed014's Note - can’t believe that of you mate! ?
He is the epitome of a class A arse! ?♂️
8.) 23 Sep 2024 14:13:56
We rattled city yesterday
We have the best defence in European football
And as for that slap head who could get a job on the next planet of the apes film, he’s just bitter.
{Ed014's Note - had Trossard not got sent off I’m pretty sure we’d have easily beaten them.
That guy really is a moron!
9.) 23 Sep 2024 15:00:13
Give Sharpie! Give! Okay I’ll stay humble £500 COYG Got me wondering what your poker name is #Idontknowwhattimeofdayitisineedanewwatch.
{Ed014's Note - probably “The Grim Reefer”
10.) 23 Sep 2024 15:01:47
62 I've just watched Stones' goal back on replay and I take back what J said about celebrating as it obviously didn't happen in this instance lol.
{Ed014's Note - Raya was actually unlucky he didn’t save it with his back to the shot, that would have been some save!
11.) 23 Sep 2024 16:13:34
Aye, good thread - sorry, I never mentioned Raya, absolute great game and so unlucky at the very end, some great defending too for the entire 2nd half!
One of you said it - City were definitely rattled and could be in bother depending on the seriousness of the Rodri injury
Haaland was a twat wasn't he - not just bouncing the ball off Gabriel's head, tbh I don't mind a bit of rubbishhousery in games lol but he was aggressive and had a mouth on him after the game had ended - the only good thing perhaps, will the officials have noted that and perhaps watch him more closely?
Tbh, the rubbish on our page was from one poster mainly, maybe 2 involved, but he got pelted from the rest of the fans - honestly a great game to watch though.
12.) 23 Sep 2024 17:01:33
My poker name? You're assuming a lot of things here, Sus. Like thinking I like people enough to introduce myself for one.
And it's true, I didn't know what time it was. Thought I got home at 7ish. Wifey says I got home at 430. I don't know what I did till 7.
Also, who do I complain to about you and 14 calling me names? Ed001? Help!
{Ed001's Note - you called?}
13.) 23 Sep 2024 17:14:47
?nah mate! I was just kidding. Although, I'd keep my eye on that sus chap if I were you. Even his name sounds sus.
{Ed001's Note - exactly. Defo one to watch that one!}
14.) 23 Sep 2024 19:20:34
Such time wasters apparently ball in play the first or second amount of time this season, and that includes C£ty Pool etc some of whom are having a pop at us.
Disappointed Sharpie # the squealer # the snitcher COYG.
15.) 23 Sep 2024 20:07:38
Fair enough that sus, but the true crime here is you murdering a simple hashtag ?.
16.) 23 Sep 2024 20:41:24
?????? the old Luddite that I amCOYG.
31 May 2024 07:39:07
{Ed's Note - Bill has posted a new article entitled, VAR Decisions Need Fixing
1.) 31 May 2024 16:20:08
Interesting article Bill.
05 Mar 2024 13:11:40
Guys, Liverpool fan again in peace - honestly, for a neutral how good is this season?
3 clubs within touching distance at the top points and good wise is fantastic
You were a bit behind on the good front a few games ago but man, you haven't half sorted that out have you in just a few games lol?
Add to the above then, City's next 2 league games are away at Anfield and then home to a rampant Arsenal and honestly who knows what twists and turns this title race will take?
Fair play lads, you are playing some great football at the minute and you're a great bunch of fans too - I'll be glad to see you finish 2nd to us and above City lol
Best of luck in the run in lads, playing some great footie at the minute.
1.) 05 Mar 2024 17:32:19
Hi Bill, it really is an exciting title race this season with very room for error all 3 teams looking likely between now and May. We all want to be champions but how lucky are we fans of all 3 clubs just to be involved in such an exciting title race at all, there are another 27 set's of fans wishing they were as lucky as us mate ?
Enjoy the rest of the season Bill whatever it brings.
{Ed025's Note - i think you mean 17 G62..
2.) 05 Mar 2024 20:02:19
Oh yes, thanks Ed025 mate, geometry has never been my strong point ???.
{Ed025's Note - love it G62..
3.) 06 Mar 2024 00:06:53
Enjoy the run in Bill and, if it's not us, I hope you knock City off their perch :)
4.) 06 Mar 2024 07:16:15
Bill, sorry mate but I really don't want Liverpool to win it. Mostly because I have a cousin who is a Liverpool fan and if you lot win, he'll become even more annoying than he is now. And so will Ed001 (don't tell him I said that) .
5.) 06 Mar 2024 10:21:03
Lol RSharpe I know - mind you my brother in law is an Everton fan and a couple of seasons ago we nearly did a quadruple and they were nearly relegated the same season haha jeez he'd have heard me then alright - maybe this season? One can hope ???
Aye Gunner and Sally, great run in isn't it? - like you yeah I'd just like to see City knocked off their perch, obviously rather it was us but tell you what you guys aren't half playing some scintillating footie at the minute but truly will be interesting what the next couple of games will do to the table - good luck!
6.) 06 Mar 2024 12:36:47
Also a Liverpool fan here. If we don't win it, I would much rather Arsenal over city. A club with a identity and fan base who have suffered for the better part of 20 years would be good to have winning the league. Having been through this for most of my life with Liverpool, I know what it would mean for the fans. Also it would be a more honest win than the club with 100+ odd charges for cheating.
I find myself at the Emirates a lot for the womens games, so I guess I have to put Arsenal above city!
7.) 06 Mar 2024 18:31:48
Hi Taurus I think it's good for the game that 3 clubs are chasing the title and the club in 4th place isn't a million miles away. It's also good for the game that no club or two clubs completely dominate the title, Rangers or Celtic, Real or Barcelona has predominantly been the way of Scottish and Spanish football for more decades than enough. The Pl is the best league in the world in my opinion and the more competitive the title race the stronger it becomes ?.
8.) 06 Mar 2024 22:27:52
I completely agree gunner62, competition is a healthy thing for the league.
9.) 07 Mar 2024 15:54:05
I agree too Gunner and fair play to Arteta in fairness - many criticised him over the last few seasons, with players he got rid of etc; but he has built a great team now that are a proper team, none of the big egos and 'all about me' types but a proper team and looks like they'll all go through a wall for each other
Some footie he has you playing too and Rice was a great purchase in the summer - honestly doesn't look much between all 3 teams at the top does there?
Great for a neutral, but doesn't half cause health issues on game nights for fans of those 3 lol.
10.) 07 Mar 2024 20:48:34
Hi Taurus and Bill
In truth I'm just really happy for us to be genuinely back in the business of competing for title's again, keeping an eye on the Liverpool and City scores, just hoping other teams will nick a point or 3 from you, and regularly looking at the run in futures for Liverpool and City thinking where you might possibly drop points ect, it's fantastic to be back in the thick of the big time rather than on the outside looking in and reminiscing about how things used to be for us once upon a time ?? Don't get me wrong of course I'd love us to be champions but just genuinely being back in race itself is a brilliant feeling all on its own.
One things for sure, come the end of May the best team over 38 games will definitely be very worthy champions, be that us, you lads or City ???.
05 Feb 2024 14:47:47
Guys, Liverpool fan in peace - massively disappointed with our performance yesterday, we were truly awful fs but take nothing away from your team, the better team won 100% no doubt about that, you deserved the 3 points
Weird game given that it was mistakes that led to 3 of the 4 goals but hey it happens, leaves the title race wide open and correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that 4 points against us this season and I think you've already beaten City? Good form against the top sides
Can see City winning nearly every game now so every point matters from here on in - not sure what Carragher was complaining about though, you guys won, be bloody ecstatic about that, celebrate it, who cares?
Good luck lads - well, not that much luck lol but hope you finish second to us ?.
1.) 05 Feb 2024 15:12:31
Bill, can't argue with anything you've said except for a large majority of that last sentence ?.
2.) 05 Feb 2024 15:23:26
Thanks for your views Bill, very much welcomed.
Us Bills always talk sense???.
3.) 05 Feb 2024 18:28:47
Hi Bill thanks for the cracking post mare ?
When two of the best teams in the country meet something has to give as no matter how good each team is there can only ever be one winner yesterday it was us but the next time we meet both teams start at 0 0 with everything to play for all over again
If we don't win it I hope you boy's do, not because I don't like City or Pep but because it's Jurgens final season in England and if it can't be us then I'd really like to be you boy's, but ultimately as always the best team over 38 games will most definitely and deservedly be champions.
4.) 05 Feb 2024 18:33:14
Thanks for your kind words Bill, much appreciated. Its going to be quite a run in!
17 Apr 2023 14:14:36
Liverpool fan in peace lads - quick question - have read that Arteta is worried he could lose Gabriel or Saliba in the summer, is there any truth in that?
Gabriel been good, don't get me wrong, but imo Saliba is something special
Oh, best of luck for the rest of the season lads, you have been very good this season, I hope you can keep it going until the last game!
1.) 17 Apr 2023 17:45:39
Thanks for the message Bill
All us Gooners rate Saliba very highly.
{Ed025's Note - you are missing him big time bill. Great player imo..
03 May 2024 10:17:41
Would have been funny though if we could have had a thumbs down on the request to remove it though ??.
09 Jan 2024 13:26:04
lol gunner62 I remember that and Ken and his lucky pants ???
Was that really so long ago, have I really been on this site for so long! The Gunners I remember the longest is yourself and Dagenham as you both posted on the Liverpool page on occasion.
23 Jun 2023 15:09:28
Lads everything I've read seems he really likes Arsenal and would happily move there - the problem simply is stumping up the cash that West Ham want
Us Liverpool fans watch our club get nowhere near valuations or, in the Bellingham deal, talk it up for a year then baulk that the price was what everybody said it would be lol
You do not seem far from what West Ham want though - think they want 100m and you offered just over 90m plus add ons, so not far away at all - you'd like to see Arsenal just offer the 100m and no faffing about but time will tell I guess - good player, could see him do very well for you.
19 Jun 2023 11:47:36
Talk of West Ham looking at Paulinha from Fulham - would be a decent replacement for Rice imo and would cost the bank either.
19 Jun 2023 11:46:05
I'm a Liverpool fan Sharpe and I haven't seen any Arsenal fans 'getting excited' over Havertz - all of them have been asking the same question; is he what you genuinely need or more of a proper number 9 that doesn't drift deep or wide all the time
Also, Rice is a cdm - surely scoring goals isn't why you would be purchasing him - shielding the back 4 and stopping the other team scoring goals is exactly why you want him - though, 3 goals is a bonus tbh.
21 Oct 2024 12:36:11
Sharpe I'm a Liverpool fan and thought it was near identical. Jota would've been clear through and had Gakpo sprinting clear on his left too - looked a lot more contact made than the Saliba one too but these days who honestly knows what the verdict will be from one week to the next? Will VAR get involved? Will it be the right decision or just a wtf was that decision? let's spin the wheel and see lol - like a bloody gameshow these days.
11 Oct 2024 15:54:49
Anelka too for 500k was an absolute steal! Look I'm a Liverpool fan but I like Wenger, it was him that really pushed to transform the sort of lifestyle led by players and pushed the better diets, less drinking etc so a huge impact if even only looking at that regard
Signings wise, Viera was one of the best defensive midfielders the league has seen and Henry was a left winger was he not when Wenger bought him? Loved watching Henry and got to say though Wenger built a great footballing side, they were great to watch.
23 Sep 2024 16:13:34
20 Sep 2024 11:40:04
Liverpool fan here gunner - I get the explanation in that yeah, if he kicked the ball away then the rules are a yellow card, alright I guess, but:
- should the keeper not have gotten a yellow card for just kicking Rice in the knee? Aye the ball was kicked away, but what he missed the ball and just kicked him in the knee, not the foot? Some miss that you would think, almost like he aimed for his knee - wonder where VAR was for that.
- like you say, the ball was moving. How can you take a free kick if the ball is moving? So, he couldn't have taken a free kick and Rice didn't prevent him from doing so then? VAR not see the ball was moving? Or did that not matter?
- the 'quick free kick' angle - if you see the reverse angle, there was literally none of his team mates anywhere near where he was supposedly kicking it! I mean, not one official thought to point that out?
- then, under the rules of the game, kicking the ball away is a yellow card offence, so then where was the yellow card for the offence in the 1st half? That guy didn't even just flick it, he proper belted it and that's ok then? Is the offence based upon how hard it is kicked? Where on the pitch it happens? Maybe only if certain players are involved?
Fans, players and managers have issues with the way these rules are enforced - just seemingly on an ad hoc basis, is it because of the stadiums the game is in? The teams involved? Players involved at each incident? Who knows, just the inconsistency is awful.
The worse is that such incidents are just not covered - the audio awful and yet people back these decisions instead of doing something about it fs - we used to get Dermot Gallagher on TV actually rewriting rules to tell us 'why the decision was correct' only then to completely reverse that stance when a different decision for an identical situation happened the next week - that too, he then explained was 'correct'
You had Clattenburg say that the ref needed to give free kicks to Milan to 'win over the crowd' against Liverpool the other night - seriously? Give a free kick if its a free kick! And unsurprisingly, the media etc have just not commented on that either.
12 Sep 2024 16:08:58
Aye Sallyjannine, a lot seem to be for failure to co-operate etc.
Couple of big ones in there, the manager remuneration one will be an interesting one - there was rumours years ago of Mancini being paid under the table from a second account lol that was never answered
Certainly a lot of fans interested, particularly to see, if the charges are proven of course, if harsh punishments will be handed out as has happened to other clubs.
