Toney suspended for 8 months for betting irregularities.
Safely say he won't be leaving Brentford anytime soon.
1.) 17 May 2023 19:05:04
How much do you want to bet on that Bill……. oh, maybe not?.
2.) 17 May 2023 20:27:46
????.
3.) 17 May 2023 20:53:33
Doesn’t the summer break counts in that, as well?
4.) 17 May 2023 23:50:27
I feel for Toney a bit. Yes, 100% wrong behaviour, but the premier league is the one who has glorified betting and placed it basically everywhere you can look. The sooner we start treating sports betting like cigarettes the better. I have colleagues who work in gambling addiction and it is far, far worse than anything you will see from nicotine. I've met parents who let their kids put a cheeky tenner on a game because the kids see the sponsors every day and think it's OK.
5.) 18 May 2023 23:39:59
He's allowed to start training with a club from the four month mark, he'll miss only the first half of next season and be fit and ready to play for the second. Wouldn't surprise me if someone does sign him now they know this, but it won't be us.
6.) 19 May 2023 02:13:46
Brentford had already signed is replacement for a club record fee, in January if I’m not mistaken.
7.) 20 May 2023 21:44:01
if anything it makes more likely I feel he will be sold Brentford can't afford to not have a main striker for that long out so will cash in now i feel if someone is willing.
12 Mar 2023 15:59:50
Superb performance lads
Some lovely football
Great to see Jesus back
COYG????.
1.) 12 Mar 2023 23:16:16
Jesus is back, it isn't even Easter!
14 Jan 2023 17:04:31
Lot of football news outlets are reporting that Chelsea are back in for Mudryk with a offer close to Shakhtar, s asking price.
{Ed014's Note - now there’s a desperate club! They literally don’t know what to do next. ?♂️
1.) 14 Jan 2023 17:14:24
Hello Ed
I find it strange that they are backing Potter with that sort of money.
{Ed002's Note - It is not related to Potter.}
2.) 14 Jan 2023 17:54:34
Looks like he's off to Chelsea now, onto plan B.
3.) 14 Jan 2023 17:56:03
Just reading deals been agreed with Chelsea just got to convince mudryk now.
4.) 14 Jan 2023 17:58:56
Offering £108 mill ?.
5.) 14 Jan 2023 18:05:21
Have Chelsea actually bid for him or is it paper talk can you shed any light.
{Ed002's Note - I have excplained Chelsea's interest previously and they may be able to satisfy the desires of SD.}
6.) 14 Jan 2023 18:22:09
It looks all but done awaiting to sign the documents and as it's been reported he's on his way to London for his medical. And I thought like too many like me that he only wanted arsenal lol. Well it was fun while it lasted.
7.) 14 Jan 2023 18:24:19
I am fine with it. Wish the player the best, but that is an extortionate figure. Spend it on Rice if anyone.
8.) 14 Jan 2023 18:52:19
We need to get deals over line sooner instead of penny pinching all the time we've missed out on our top target now who fits what arteta has been trying to do.
9.) 14 Jan 2023 18:56:42
Agree Alex - Chelsea paid up, Shaktar entitled to get best price, wish him well! Time will tell - he could be a steal but as Sally said glad we walked away at the price we thought he was worth ( if that’s what happened) COYG.
10.) 14 Jan 2023 19:11:35
Is he the 3rd or 4th most expensive premier league signing now? Based on what? Insane.
{Ed002's Note - Try not to start with the embarrassing posts now.}
11.) 14 Jan 2023 19:42:53
We wanted the kid and we all know he would be massive for us. its ridiculous to start saying he's not worh that much when we were only just over 5mil short to their valuation. The kid is good whether he will smash the league or become the next pepe no-one knows but surely we all or most of us fans thought highly of him as well as the club to go that far with the negotiations.
All I can say. Shakhtar got what they wanted from the beginning and chelsea seemed to over turn his head with a better contract fair play.
Now I only hope he will flop and ad more misery to chelsea.
12.) 14 Jan 2023 23:26:20
Shame we didn't get him on to the next player whst will be will be end of the day players come and go but the badge goes on coyg.
13.) 14 Jan 2023 23:36:08
Hi. long time lerker, don't understand Ed002 comment. Embarrassing posts? . No denying the kids talented but the fee is over the top, Chelsea have spent 300 mill already on players plus 100 mill on Mykhailo Mudryk. Should we have over paid? For a player that's had he's first good season?
{Ed002's Note - No Arsenal should not have overpaid but they should not have disrespected his club and screwed people around. The club need to behave responsibly. You are not even seeing the posts thrashing the player as no good - it is all embarrassing.}
14.) 14 Jan 2023 23:52:19
Fair play Edd, haven't seen the post thrashing him. Didn't Shakhtar Donetsk have agreement with a German club in the summer but went back on verbal agreement? . And thanks for your time and effort very much appreciated.
{Ed002's Note - There was an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen but it depended on Diaby leaving - so it did not happen.}
15.) 14 Jan 2023 23:59:51
Thanks for your time Edd. Feel fre to private message me everything you know haha, I won't tell.
{Ed002's Note - Have a great evening.}
09 Jan 2023 17:13:33
Felix close to joining Chelsea according to reports.
1.) 11 Jan 2023 18:02:00
Finally Chelsea replace Peter Bonetti.
12 Apr 2022 13:56:47
Hello everyone. Got a question for Ed2.In your opinion Ed what striker do you see available in the summer that would best suit Arsenal.
Apologies if you have dealt with this question before.
{Ed002's Note - Sticking with players Arsenal have at least shown some interest in, Nunez over Alexander Isak but I don't see either moving to Arsenal. Then perhaps Calvert-Lewin over Rashford. Then perhaps promote Mika Biereth to replace Nketiah?}
1.) 12 Apr 2022 16:09:59
Thanks for the info Ed
Much appreciated ??.

Our defense is becoming
Mean, moody and magnificent (Love it)
17 Nov 2023 21:05:12
Hello everyone.
Just wondering what are your thoughts on Evertons point deduction.
Had to turn England v Malta game off, just couldn't cope with the excitement.
{Ed014's Note - evening Bill, it must be galling for them watching City and Chelsea just getting away with it.
I turned off after 15 minutes, turgid Southgate crap!
1.) 17 Nov 2023 21:27:08
Your right there Ed mate.
2.) 17 Nov 2023 23:16:15
Hi Bill, take a look at the Everton page mate, It's impossible not to be impressed by the dignity of and acceptance from the vast majority of
their fans. Personally I think the Everton fan's are a brilliant example of acceptance of mistakes and the dignity of taking bad outcomes on the chin ????.
3.) 18 Nov 2023 07:55:58
The investigation into Man Ciry is predicted to take 2 years to complete with over 100 charges against them a hell of a lot more that Everton.
Chelsea have admitted breaching the rules going to be interesting to see the punishment.
4.) 18 Nov 2023 08:55:30
Hi Banbury the FA have set the bar with Everton and it will be difficult for them to lower it for other clubs who are found guilty of exactly the same rule breaking.
There unquestionably needs to be consistency but equally not a witch hunt where everyone is trying to throw other clubs under the bus in order to gain an on field advantage.
The football league has been handing out these kinds of punishments for years both Luton and Portsmouth are good examples of huge points deductions and of course proving there is life after big points deductions.
Each club must if found guilty of exactly the same rule breaking recieve totally equal punishment, be that club Arsenal or anyone else, but at the same time every club be them Arsenal or anyone else has to be innocent until proven guilty.
Calm heads are most definitely going to be needed.
5.) 18 Nov 2023 09:07:14
Took a look John mate. Very stoic aren't they. Spoke to a old work mate who is a Evertonian and he said he is relieved that it's over and done with and the points deduction wasn't as high as recommended.
6.) 18 Nov 2023 09:29:49
Hi Bill mate, I was very impressed and very pleasantly surprised, as I expected everyone to be up in arms mate.
I've always quite liked Everton and have never wanted to see them relegated and the dignity shown by their fans in accepting both the wrong doing by their club and the very strong punishment handed to them has only reinforced that hope for them to be a premier league club come next season.
Up The Arsenal and The Everton is my motto for the rest of the season. I'm extremely impressed by the Everton fan's accepting what is rather than focusing on what should or shouldn't have been ?????.
7.) 18 Nov 2023 10:10:52
I think I am right in saying that after us they have the longest uninterrupted stretch in the top division.
8.) 18 Nov 2023 10:38:51
I think its us and Everton Bill mate?.
13 Nov 2023 10:16:42
Best of luck to Cesc in his first managerial role at Como.
05 Nov 2023 07:53:00
My son in law said ball out of play, offside, handball and foul, none of it would have mattered if Raya had dealt with the cross and not flapped at it.
Good point or not.
Seen replay again think Kai and Bruno can count thereselves lucky.
1.) 05 Nov 2023 08:32:36
Kai was very very lucky for me that was a red card - Bruno the same.
2.) 05 Nov 2023 08:53:17
The ball looks out of play to me, but there is no proof either way despite the technology available. Two hands pushing an opponent is surely a fowl.
Raya? What more can be said, like Kai he's Arteta player and decision to bring in and is going to have to fail 10 times more often than existing players before Mikel will accept he might have been wrong in his thinking.
But it is what it is and luckily for us MA is an extremely lucky manager and event do seem to save Mikel and us from Mikels delusions of genius.
3.) 05 Nov 2023 10:01:03
Spot on Bill. You play to the whistle and Raya was completely out of position.
I'm an Arteta supporter and he's obviously completely changed and rejuvenated the club but I think unless he stops believing his own genius he will cost us games with his tinkering.
You could've just taken our starting 11 from last season and just dropped in Rice, and we would be better than now. I don't understand the need to play around with th gk position, and why we brought in Havertz- surely the CF, and wide positions were more important to recruit in.
4.) 05 Nov 2023 10:48:13
Hopefully Glenn that's the positions where we will be looking at strengthening in January.
I do feel though that we should be playing with more tempo and we take far to many passes to get the ball into threatening positions.
5.) 05 Nov 2023 11:15:20
I just read an interesting article about how now Arteta has had time for his emotions to settle he must start looking inward and questioning his own decisions rather than forcing on the mistakes of others.
The article asks why Arteta has tried to fix what wasn't broken at Arsenal rather than concentrating on where we were lacking last season, it's a very fair point in my opinion.
6.) 05 Nov 2023 14:02:26
Yes just read that on bbc G62- the article is 100% correct especially around Havertz being a vanity purchase.
I think unless Arteta deals with his pig headedness we will continue to drop points.
7.) 05 Nov 2023 14:56:46
I think Mikel needs a really good friend to have an honest chat with him Glen, because most people can see this weaknesses in his character but sometimes the hardest person for us all to see is ourselves. Last seasons buzz word at Arsenal was we are a humble, I think Mikel needs to practice what he preaches and find the humility to accept that maybex vjust maybe nearly everyone else isn't wrong and just he alone is right.
04 Nov 2023 20:34:49
Ode has a hip injury that's why he was rested against Sheffield but brought in when the game was lost at West Ham?♂️
The injury is thought not to be serious.
Pgmol have said that they had no technology to use to see if ball was out. Var looked at the apparent offside and the foul on Gabriel and said the Goa is good.
Apparently Bein sports have done a check and proved was marginally in play. Not by what I saw.
Anyway the wife is watching Strictly and I am unwinding with a couple of cans of Guinness
COYG.
02 Sep 2023 19:16:12
Hope so??.
19 Jun 2023 07:00:54
Wouldn't even bother replying to the posts Sharpie mate.
13 Jun 2023 15:13:02
Much appreciated Ed.
13 Jun 2023 14:02:32
Question for Ed 2
If Arsenal and West Ham were unable to come to an agreement, in your opinion would Declan choose to stay at West Ham or would he be open to a move elsewhere
Thanks as always
Apologies if you have dealt with this previously.
{Ed002's Note - There are no other offers on the table right now so the option of moving elsewhere does not exist.}
23 May 2023 16:58:29
Tbh Shambo mate until the speculation surrounding Parties off field activities is sorted, I don't think you could give Partey away. Very injury prone on top of that as well. As, for Gabriel like you I am not his biggest fan.
I just cannot see us getting Rice as I think it's well over what we would ever pay for a player.
06 Dec 2023 12:25:23
Cheers Ed mate
That would be Awesome??.
{Ed014's Note - it really would be Bill
06 Dec 2023 09:08:29
Hello Ed mate
After last night's performance from Raya, if he doesn't bring back Rambo for the Villa game, I cannot see anyway back for Rambo as No1.
As for the game, what a rollercoaster, we seem so much better mentally to cope with the pressure.
Hope the missus and you are safe and well. Best wishes to you both as always.
{Ed014's Note - Hi Bill, I’d like to think he’d be man enough to drop Raya, I don’t even think Raya is under half the pressure that Rambo is either which make the mistakes even more of a concern.
It’s nice that I always think we have it in us to comeback into games too.
We’re both good thanks and all the best to you and yours too Bill.
Be nice to see us still top after the Christmas and New Year games. ????
05 Dec 2023 18:11:43
Hello Yard mate.
We are definitely more mentally tougher. Like tonight's game against Luton I think it will be tight and scrappy as teams are wary of our ability to counter with the pace we have, but because our goalscoring threat comes from a number of players we will get the 3pts.
Hello Mal hope the ribs are improving ?.
02 Dec 2023 20:11:17
Hello Gabi mate. We did take our foot off but like you say job done 3pts in the bag. Tough away my fixture against Luton who will be in our face from the 1st minute but like I said on live chat we look mentally tougher than last season.
Then 4 games against Villa, Brighton, Liverpool then West Ham which imo will define our season.
Take care Gabi mate
Ps Stuivenberg is the man.
29 Nov 2023 18:55:13
Sorry Sally I can only agree with Ed 14 on this one.
