Hi Eds, Eze has been linked with Man U and Spurs, surely if he is moving then we should be going in for him or is he not a target for us?
{Ed014's Note - Rodrygo is the only winger I’ve seen us linked with so wouldn’t know about Eze.
It would seem strange for him to take a step down and join the Spuds or that Manc 5h1te. ?♂️
1.) 16 Jun 2025 17:07:18
Thanks Ed, same thoughts regarding him taking a step down by going to either. It will be good for us to get one of Rodrygo, Eze or Gordon. Can take a punt on Grealish with loan.
{Ed014's Note - a case of wait and see HB.

Flirt with the prettiest girl at the disco and leave empty handed or with a tramp. Great.
We need to be more strategic and deliver - who cares about the fish we wanted to catch. 3 years later and we are still chasing the dream.
If we win trophies - it would be easier.

Hi Eds, do you know if we have had any serious discussions with our primary targets and their clubs? It is very early days and transfers are complicated process but I am fearing the usual hesitancy in our approach. It will be disheartening if good players are snapped up and we keep faffing around.
{Ed001's Note - yes, I believe you are trying to sort out at least a couple of signings in this initial window. It is a different year for PSR purposes than the second window, so getting them done now will get them off the books earlier in the future.}
1.) 03 Jun 2025 10:32:31
Thanks Ed.
{Ed001's Note - very welcome mate.}
26 May 2025 12:56:31
Hi Eds, do you have any latest on which wingers we are looking at if any? I would have liked Eze or Gordan, but with Palace in Europa and Newcastle in the CL, they look unlikely. We missed out on Marmoush and will have to compete with many clubs for Nico Williams. We need someone who can hit the ground running and preferably with premier league experience.
{Ed001's Note - Rafael Leao and Gittens seem to be the main two targets.}
1.) 26 May 2025 13:36:53
Thanks Ed, Leao is a good player but hasn’t lived up to the hype, Gittens also is one for the future but any additional depth to the squad will be welcome.
2.) 29 May 2025 02:26:39
I would be chuffed with Gittens, 20 y/ o with 8 goals and 3 assists for BvB? Sign me up. Williams would be the premium target but doubt we'd pay the asking price.

Just watched yesterday’s highlights and was great to see Kai back on the field, scoring and assisting.
Ode/Eze/Rice should learn from the pass he made to Gyokeres for his goal, this will allow our wingers to also attack the box with pace and pepper the opposition goal.
Bill mate, your suggestion of playing 4-4-2 may work with Havertz and Gyokeres upfront. We may have to sacrifice Ode and Eze for this formation and the hoss won’t do it but it could be plan B in the last quarter of the games.
1.) 30 Jan 2026 00:10:32
Lots of reports Odegaard is looking to move on for a new challenge Highbury.
25 Jan 2026 18:31:22
Not only we have thrown away our advantage, the way we get our goals isn’t filling in confidence for the run in. We are showing the pressure again and again not showing any urgency, passing sideways and back even in 88th minute when we need to score a goal. Well….!
1.) 25 Jan 2026 18:47:16
Not sure why Martinelli didn't start, get them on the back foot from the off.
2.) 25 Jan 2026 18:47:40
BOTTLE mate - we play with a fear of losing rather than a desire to win. Our striker signings don’t scream “we want to score” yet our defensive signings scream “ it will be difficult to get past us”
Look how boring Eze now looks under Arteta
Bottle - same issue for last 4 or whatever seasons.
3.) 25 Jan 2026 18:53:14
I couldn't agree with you more Highbury.
It seems to me we play with the brakes on all the time, slow build up which is suited for CL. Even when we were behind there wasn't no one to take the opposition on and create something. Some people won't like this but apart from the Spurs/Villa home games we have not played well in the Prem. We have assembled a great squad but but it seems hamstrung by tactics.
I would like to try 442 to see if that suits the squad better. Pressure is getting to us. I know teams are hard to break down but we got a lucky goal then sat back. We looked very fragile tactically and mentally. Once again like after Liverpool and Forest games I am really pissed off with a performance which doesn't reflect the quality we have in the squad.
4.) 25 Jan 2026 18:58:05
Evening Highbury hope alls well. I wish we would take shots from edge of opposition penalty area. there’s been countless opportunities for us to do so throughout this season, we just seem to always look for an extra pass. other teams do it and profit from it. We just don’t seem to do it as much as other teams. it’s a little frustrating to be honest.
5.) 25 Jan 2026 19:25:16
All well mate, a little disappointed with the result today.
Yes, we need to show aggression, pin the opposition back and score goals. Today, Dorgu and Cunha took a chance and it paid off with spectacular goals.
At least when we need a goal we must move the ball quicker and have shots on target. We didn’t have any in the second half except for Merino’s lucky goal.
25 Jan 2026 17:11:24
Why on earth you play a pass back when Timber is open in front of you to pass to!
1.) 25 Jan 2026 17:23:33
We faff about far too much, we need to have so many touches and over complicate things.
17 Jan 2026 21:44:37
We are in the second half of the season and I think our tired mentality was on show today. Against a bottom team we had to go all out and finish the game off in the first half. Like someone said, with the incentive to put 9 points lead over the rest of the pack, we had to be on our A game. If Villa win tomorrow the gap is 4 points and having played both our games with them, it will not be in our hands if Villa keep on our toes. Gyokores is not a league winning striker but we are not even trying to get him in the game, we rely on wingers and Gabriel to score goals.
Odegard is getting back in form but we should rotate alternatively with him and Eze. Martinelli is also inconsistent and he had to score today when he had the chance, he should have scored two. I am fairly confident we can do it but the team and Arteta’s inexperience to handle the pressure and get the job done may affect us in the run in…again! Hence, even though we earned a point away from home, my excitement from today’s other results has been dampened by our draw.

Hushhh…!

I think we will get Eze, Rodrygo and Sesko.

There is a rumour around MLS being tracked by Real Madrid. Nwaneri will also be looking for assurances on more game time. However, we must extend their contracts and my be give them an option to review next year.
26 May 2025 13:36:53

28 Jan 2026 15:04:04
Thanks mate, yes, the first part will be to get a win and 3 points, however, if we just manage to get that with a single goal scored from a corner, it won’t boost anyone’s confidence so we definitely need a performance. At least that is my view. We fans need the utmost patience until May!
27 Jan 2026 18:46:46
He sounded genuine, but we should not get sea sick by the time we reach the shore!
Leeds are in form and fighting for points, it is going to be another big test for us, I an praying that we respond in an emphatic manner. COYG!

Absolutely Sally, was going to wrote the same. The powers are trying everything to help us, we should do our part and make it easy especially for us fans!

I guess we all are happy with our current position, our view is if we are the team who are going to win the league then we should play like one. With the team that we have, yesterday’s effort was way below par and as their is a long way to go and our history we would like us to shore up the advantage when we get a chance.
