Chelsea fan here. Got a question. I picked Maitland-Niles in my fantasy football league as I thought he might be sold to Wolves.

Is a move for him still on the cards? And if he stays at Arsenal, will he play?

Thanks for any insight. If he'll stay and won't play then I need to drop him asap lol.

Hey Jacson, With Fabrizio and Athletic reporting on PSG talks regarding Bellerin - It does not seem like AMN might move.

Stranger things have happened though.

2.) 06 Sep 2020 20:54:49
Update from The Athletic on AMN

A move for Ainsley Maitland-Niles remains at an impasse, with Arsenal not currently looking to sell. The player is also said to prefer a role in midfield, which may rule out a transfer to Molineux. However, Wolves will keep tabs on the situation should Maitland-Niles not feature regularly for Mikel Arteta once the season starts.

So @Jackson- Drop him if your pick was based on him being at wolves for GW1 or 2.

Thank you for the replies! Seems like it'll be best to drop him then indeed. Shame as I like him as a player.

Good luck anyways this season :)

Talking of FPL. who do you reckon starts the first game Leno or Martinez?

5.) 07 Sep 2020 22:19:58
Martinez is a good gamble. I've got him and Ryan currently as Ryan is at least nailed on even if Emi isn't.

Hi guys, Chelsea fan here. I was wondering how our boy Ake did Today against you guys. Wasn't able to match the game but I was pleasantly surprised to see him start. How did he do? :-)

Decent player Jackson.

Made a couple of timely blocks and looked composed when on the ball.

Hey, remember me (Chelsea fan) :)
Impressive stuff yesterday from your team, guys. You looked really good and with some better finishing it could've been even more. You're hitting form at the right time and I personally hope you can get top 3 or at least top 4.
Good luck!

Thanks Jackson mate, I only saw the highlights on motd but what I saw was very very impressive.
Obviously your as good as home and dry this season mate and in my opinion have been since October but i feel the wind of change is blowing in our direction at long last.
This time next year Rodder's we'll be real challengenaires!

Hi guys, Chelsea fan in peace :)
So we're out in a disappointing way. PSG deservedly through, we were simply bad.
Now I hope you guys can turn the tie around because we need an English club to make a deep run. The onus falls on your club, I hope they can do it.
Cheers guys, and good luck for the rest of the season.

Jackson

{Ed025's Note - dont worry jackson...the mighty everton will do the country proud mate..

1.) 11 Mar 2015 23:12:34
Lol Ed.

Thank you Jackson.

Very nice post.

2.) 11 Mar 2015 23:22:14
absolutely disgusting to see the chelsea players harp the ref for the red card. it was a plan, because if it was in regards to oscars safety you rush to the player first not the ref. Karma is a well you know.

i wanted chelsea to show they can play with the players of quality they have with hazard and costa and willian and cuadrado and cesc and oscar, rather what i saw and the world saw was a 22 year old italian called verrati who i will say is the best midfield player in the world. the composure and skill and the tenacity to do what he did after they went to 10 men. this PSG team is a player away from being a champions league force.

when i compare them to arsenal its a far cry. too many levels below at the moment. we need to do something in Monaco, but looks like that shit league 1 as they call it is proving the EPL is no good. Bundesliga, la liga now ligue 1...we really are brainwashed into thinking we have the best players.

3.) 11 Mar 2015 23:33:50
Dony write PSG off this year. Theyl win it soon enough . Qatar money helps

4.) 12 Mar 2015 07:24:42
Hahahah Ed :) hope you're right!

5.) 12 Mar 2015 17:39:19
Agree about Veratti, immense player. Reminds me of Pirlo and Xabi Alonso. Imagine a PSG midfield of Veratti, Matuidi and Pogba.

Tammy is better than Watkins. Doesn't always look the most gracious, but he simply scores goals. You don't often find his combination of mobility, technique and build. He's hard for defenders to play against.

Kid is our (Chelsea's) top PL scorer over the past 2 seasons for a reason. If he plays he'll get goals. You guys would be lucky to have him. I'll be sad to see him go, but I like him and he deserves to move somewhere where he'll play.

This is coming from a Chelsea fan. I'd be really damn jealous if you guys could get Torreira. Top notch midfielder and he'd be awesome for you guys.

Got both grit and technique, passing and tackling. And he'd probably come for a decent price. Would be a great get.

Do you guys think you'd sell him to Chelsea? He'd be a significant improvement on Moses in my opinion.

I can't deny a Pogba or Griezmann type of player would make me happy. However, I agree that the money is crazy in football right now. Clubs are willing to pay 60 million or something for players that have proven very little (e. g. Martial, Renato Sanches) . It's all becoming madness. But it's not our money, so I'm not going to really complain about it.

It can be frustrating though to think that many people work very very hard, they work their asses off (even more than 1 job) , but they don't even make 1% of what an average professional makes at the top level. Loftus-Cheek apparently got a 65k per week deal. That's outrageous.

{Ed025's Note - im with you on that jackson its obscene if you ask me but it is what it is mate..

Ed025, are we (Chelsea) willing spend that much on him? :-)
And if I recall correctly, Being Human, there are some issues with Mkhitaryan that made us (Chelsea) step back our interest or something. I think it's looking less likely that he'll come to us right now. Hope that helps.

Jackson

{Ed025's Note - apparently you are jackson, for me its spiraling out of control mate but i suppose if you,ve got it..flaunt it..

Are you serious? He was wildly inconsistent all night. Penalty for Willian, ref books him for diving. Pedro gets a red for a tackle on the ankle with studs showing, yet Bellerin gets a yellow when he does the same on Alonso. Alonso gets a yellow for obstructing Bellerin, yet Bellerin doesn't get a 2nd yellow when he does the same on Azpi.

Stats don't tell the whole story though. Goals and assists can be useful in assessing a player, but they don't tell the whole story. For example, you could look at chances created and see that Hazard is top of that list. And no offense meant, but IMO didn't really perform that well in the big games. Only thing I remember him doing against Chelsea is colliding with Courtois in that first game. And supporters of other teams (United fans being among others) told me that he didn't do much against them either. So that could contribute to it as well.

Well yeah, no one's said that this Chelsea team aren't good. But I have seen people that are of the opinion that they're going to win the title only because the other teams have been bad and not because Chelsea have actually been good. Of course everyone's entitled to his own opinion :-)
I agree that the attacking displays have been less than thrilling, but that's also down to Drogba playing much more than he should. It's hard to do much attacking wise with him up front. The whole pressing game collapses as well as he doesn't have the legs to close down defenders. Matic and Fabregas are obviously tired as well as Mourinho hasn't rotated much during the season. So I think that's a contributing factor as well.
I understand people calling us 'boring', but I myself find some defensive displays remarkably entertaining. Seeing wingers try to go past Azpi is just so much fun (emphasis on 'try') :-) Defending is a part of football, and when a team defends well I can actually enjoy that. For example, I really enjoyed the game vs United. The defense was amazing and being a Chelsea fan I can take pride in that.
