Hi Eds have we shown any interest in Hakimi at Inter Milan and either way are we actively looking to sell Hector Bellerin . Thanks in advance COYG.

{Ed002's Note - Achraf Hakimi (RB) Inter spoke with Chelsea and wanted to offer an exchange for Kante, but started negotiating by asking for both Kante and Emerson. Nothing came of it but he would be an eventual Azpilicueta replacement. As they have financial issues they would like a straight circa €60M for him which interested sides, including Chelsea and Leicester, see as high. Arsenal enquired after him but are not an attractive option. Losing him to AFCON is always a consideration and the player is happy where he is.

Hector Bellerin (RB) I am not aware of any approach from PSG but I understand that Kia may look the a straight exchange of Bellerin and Neto knowing Arsenal are interested in a GK in the summer, although have been looking at a less modest target. I suspect Arsenal will not really want such a deal, but after all it is Kia in charge.}

22 Sep 2020 17:13:50
Hi Ed’s it seems common knowledge we are interested at least in Aouar and Partey. Would be interested to know if any other teams if any are talking to Lyon and Atletico? COYG.

{Ed002's Note - Juventus and PSG have enquired after Partey but neither see value in the fixed price. Aouar remains of interest to Manchester City but he is not first choice, as do Juventus but the interest of Barcelona and Chelsea will have gone unless. PSG might be interested as an alternative to Lucas Paqueta but might want to wait to their managerial situation is resolved first.Other interest can be forgotten.}

1.) 22 Sep 2020 21:38:06
Thanks Ed! Good to see some top top teams interested. Fingers crossed for one or both provided we sell COYG.

2.) 23 Sep 2020 00:48:59
I heard that regarding Partey, obv we don’t want to spend his buy out clause, so we’re playing hard ball. If they don’t work with us with the price we’ll buy full price last minute and they won’t have time to replace as it’s clear he wants to move on. could be a load of BS. thoughts?

{Ed002's Note - Just makes Arsenal look even more of a bunch of jerks.}

28 Aug 2020 11:55:50
Hi Eds. Understanding the delay in announcing Gabriel and after what Ed002 has said fully confident he will be a Gooner soon. My question is about Aubamayang and the reason he hasn`t yet signed a new contract. Would have thought it can only be financial and terms as the transfer of funds, registering etc aren`t applicable. Is the hold up the fact money and terms have yet to be agreed? COYG Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea I am afraid.}

1.) 28 Aug 2020 13:17:16
Hi Ed. When I am afraid I ask my missus for a cuddle. It helps soothe my nerves. Good luck!

2.) 28 Aug 2020 13:43:55
What's your missus number Alex? I get afraid quite a bit and if she's really hot I could be open to be absolutely terrified on a regular basis mate :-)

3.) 28 Aug 2020 16:05:58
😂😂. sometimes I suffer from the old petrification myself 62.stick me down for a trial.

4.) 28 Aug 2020 16:52:53
I wonder if he is holding out to see what happens at Barcelona and Messi?

5.) 28 Aug 2020 17:06:46
I'm always happy to share my fears with the right sort of company Shambles mate :-) .

6.) 28 Aug 2020 17:37:36
Do you think Barcelona would be interested Sally? Auba is a brilliant goal scorer but I'm not sure his all round game would be Barcelonaesk!

7.) 28 Aug 2020 18:29:25
Who knows gunner. I believe there were rumours Auba was holding out for an offer from them at one point. I was surprised when they appointed Kuman but what do I know haha.

8.) 28 Aug 2020 18:57:53
Good point about Barcelona choice of new manager Sally! Auba is absolutely brilliant for us but other than the usual tabloid rumour mill there has never been any offers for Auba from Barcelona Real City Liverpool United Chelsea or PSG either before or since he joined Arsenal.
We love Auba but I'm not sure the best premier league or European clubs share our feelings about him for some reason.

9.) 28 Aug 2020 21:19:17
That reminds me G62, I kept fearing everyone was out to get me, so I went and told my doctor and he said hold on a second, leant out the door and said he’s in here lads.

10.) 28 Aug 2020 21:53:50
I know how you feel Epping mate I've experienced very similar feelings myself mate, the only difference for me was I thought just one person was out to get me but the whole world knew their identity but was refusing tell me who they were!

11.) 28 Aug 2020 23:11:36
Highly doubt Barcelona are in for an ageing player when that is precisely the reason they got Koeman in. No, I think Auba doesn't have many options which is why he is staying. PSG or a rich Mickey mouse league are his only choices if he leaves, I reckon, and PSG can't guarantee starts over Mbappe and Neymar.

12.) 30 Aug 2020 08:47:23
I haven't heard any rumours of anyone coming in for Auba. Do any Eds know if there has been any interest?

{Ed002's Note - Aubameyangadingdong was always going to consider his options but there won't be much. PSG may offer him a way out as a Cavani replacement but they are well stocked and game time would be limited. Napoli retain an interest in Aubameyangadingdong as a preferred option to replace Milik - Barcelona could look to an offer but money and priorities are against it.}

21 Aug 2020 18:20:14
Hi Ed’s it has been mentioned elsewhere that four teams are in for Kante . Are Arsenal one of them? COYG thanks.

{Ed002's Note - No.}

1.) 21 Aug 2020 20:59:08
Thanks! Shame.

13 Aug 2020 16:00:11
Just read that Kia has slammed Sven Mislintat for his signings that cost a fortune. Leno and Aubamayang great signings, Torreira and Guendouzi good signings although may not have worked out we should get back more than we paid for them and Sokratis has been decent for not a great outlay. Can`t believe Willian and or Coutinho, Luiz and Soares will have much sell on value but the agents fees are very nice at least. He also said Arsenal has not even been mentioned to Fernandes! Just wondered if the rumours then are complete hogwash COYG.

{Ed002's Note - He is backtracking on Joelson after ptting a huge amount of effort to have Arsenal committ €45M and significant fees for him.}

1.) 13 Aug 2020 16:26:13
The fact Ed002 he has said what he has just confirms he`s a slippery wotsit and can`t believe him that Fernandes knew nothing of it when he`s put that much effort in. I fear Edu and Raul are hanging their hat on him and with his actual and potential signings we are back to square one where we have an aged squad of players who no one wants . Had enough of that recently COYG.

2.) 13 Aug 2020 16:32:46
Svens signings were brilliant, he's not not responsible for how Emery or Arteta manage them.

{Ed047's Note - that agent seems like an absolute nugget

3.) 13 Aug 2020 16:36:35
Could be wrong here and most probably am. But surely him back tracking on Fernandes perhaps shows arsenal wasn't willing to spend stupid money on him. Maybe he isn't completely brainwashed them yet. Who knows.

4.) 13 Aug 2020 19:59:58
Apparently he's an Arsenal fan too which is why he wants to help us with our transfers, bring success and fix the mess of previous transfers over the years! Welcome 32 year old Willian 😂.

5.) 13 Aug 2020 20:31:51
Good news Glen, what's to worry about then mate 😀😭.

6.) 13 Aug 2020 18:52:51
It will all cone out in the wash Ed047 mate, kia is obviously a road we are going down Whether we like it or not so we may as well hold on tight until this crazy part of our history passes.

{Ed047's Note - sure it will mate, the next few weeks will be interesting that’s for sure

7.) 13 Aug 2020 21:11:54
Exactly Gunner mate 🤦🏻‍♂️😂 I'd love to see Partey but I would be more than happy if we signed Doucoure. Willian brings experience, a good injury record and makes us more potent going forward. Doucoure would sure us up in the middle for sure and again has loads of Premier League experience. 2 more smartly thought out transfers and I'd be happy.

8.) 13 Aug 2020 21:32:28
I think there is a lot to be said for premier league experience Glen mate, there will certainly be different players at Arsenal next season and different players bring the hope of different outcomes whether you agree with the signings when they arrive or not you always have to hope they do the business in an Arsenal shirt once they are here.
Less hope the class of 2020 freshers bring more lasting optimism than the freshers of 2019 delivered :-)

27 Feb 2021 10:49:00
I`m busy this weekend so can I just get in early should we win lose or draw v Leicester MA in, please keep PEA, well played Tierney and ( fill in the blank ) should never play for Arsenal again, stop over reacting! That should cover it :) COYG.

1.) 27 Feb 2021 13:36:17
Whatever your up to this weekend Sussex mate I hope your glass runneth over with happiness opposed to its normal state of merely being only half full 😎.

14 Feb 2021 19:01:22
I posted earlier in the week that I ‘wasn’t fussed’ about this season! Can’t do it! Totally fussed and kicking heading every ball as usual! Superb today and still missing Tierney and Partey! As for their goals Leeds are top scorers outside top 4 . Should have been 7-3! Come on you Goooooners COYG Hope we’ve got our captain back too.

1.) 14 Feb 2021 19:29:44
Saka delivers yet again, the fact he's 19 is irrelevant he's simply a consistently excellent players and yet again ESR doesn't disappoint while Auba was back to doing what he does best.

The game had goals written all over it before a ball was kicked and our team gave everything they could to make sure The Arsenal came out on top, we've had worse days Rodders 😎.

2.) 14 Feb 2021 20:33:52
Saka is already approaching world class, big statement I know and I hope he sticks with us as it won’t be long before the financial giants come knocking at our door. This kid can only get better,
So pleased to see PEA back to his best, I’ve been his biggest critic I’ll admit but tonight he gave 200% you could see it in his eyes COYG.

3.) 14 Feb 2021 21:30:16
I always remember after Ryan Giggs debut the TV reporter who had just watched the game said " Our think we may have just seen the next George Best " the host in the studio laughed and said " that's a bit ott, don't put that burden on the lads shoulders "

OK Giggs never quite lived up to the George Best billing but like him or not he did become a very special talent, I think Saka has the right to aim for George best and but nit settle for anything less than Ryan Giggs standard as an absolute minimum of himself. For me he is that good.

4.) 14 Feb 2021 21:40:34
Massively impressed with the front 4 today. Ødegaard, Smith Rowe and Saka, were brilliant on the ball and worked there way out of tight spaces. Big decisions for the team selection next Sunday. Onto Benfica Thursday night 💪🏼.

5.) 14 Feb 2021 22:04:00
Very impressed with the performance today not just because we won but for the fact we created chances without a struggle. With Tierney and Partey we would get even better. Cedric too has been great. Love the runs of Bellerin with the ball from midfield, one thing I would have loved our midfielders to be doing more. Makes me miss Rosicky (Super Tom 7)

6.) 14 Feb 2021 22:15:29
I said it on live chat that it won’t be too long before Barcelona come knocking as a replacement for Messi
I have never seen a teenager that is that good

Laugh at my post at you’re peril.

7.) 14 Feb 2021 22:19:29
Very good result, the changes worked well and we were allowed to play ball. Saka definitely is class. The way he plays you see and get the feeling he can do anything.

8.) 14 Feb 2021 22:28:34
And we won with Gabriel too 😂.

9.) 15 Feb 2021 10:07:13
Holding, Partey and Tierney in that team and it will be one of the best teams in the league (yes! With Xhaka in it😃) add Pepe and Martinelli in rotation!
I enjoyed the match only for the reasons that we were fluent, created chances and scored goals. I will any day take 4-2 over a 1-0 but let's get them points however they come!

And yes, tie down Saka to a longer contract, for that matter ESR and Martinelli as well.

10.) 15 Feb 2021 11:32:14
We are creating something special however will it be possible to hold on to our emerging stars. Knowing the Americans from past experience they will sell at first opportunity.

11.) 15 Feb 2021 11:48:57
Gunner4ever where do you get your information from?

A huge amount of players were sold under Hillwood and Fitszmans watch

Kroenke has supported every manager we have had in the transfer market since he took over.

Get your facts right.

12.) 15 Feb 2021 14:51:26
Try to forget personal feelings and look at the facts.

Which players have been sold for profit since Stan took control?

Has Stan taken charge of players contracts since he took over?

Has Stan decided who does and who doesn't get a new contract?

Has Stan decided to not cash in on players but let players run down their contracts so as to hold the club to ransom for huge wages above thier abilty or leave for free

Since taking over has Stan chosen the players we have bought?

Logic says blaming Stan is just creating a bad guy in order to ignore the uncomfortable reality of how we got where we are and who really got us here.

13.) 15 Feb 2021 17:08:26
But Stan employs the people who do so surely the buck does stop with him no?
The boss has the last say I thought.
Don’t get me wrong he has backed our managers with funds fo sure but like the Ed’s have said he’s backed our managers with money that hasn’t been made yet. money that should never have been spent putting the club at a big risk.
That’s just my take on it anyway.

14.) 15 Feb 2021 17:32:45
I think you’re going of track

Gunner4life said we sell our best players under kroenke.

15.) 15 Feb 2021 19:04:10
Fair comment Mark,

16.) 15 Feb 2021 19:07:53
But he sold Gervinho and djourou Malaga 😏

It was more of an answer to G62 to be honest. interested to hear who’s feet the blame falls at?

17.) 15 Feb 2021 19:22:19
Saka has been outstanding I just pray that he doesn't get inticed away during the summer with a lot of giant teams going through rebuilds.

Fingers crossed Saka is a gooner through and through and wants to retire with us.

13 Feb 2021 11:28:41
We seem to have sorted the defence as far as goals conceded at least. We are where we are in the main due to Auba having a shocker goals wise. Can he start scoring please for last 15 games starting tomorrow COYG.

{Ed047's Note - it would be nice as our goals for is relegation standard!

1.) 13 Feb 2021 12:28:20
But Abua is the only player allowed to score goals, it's not netball 😀

The problem is none of our players score enough goals why?

Sort that out and Auba's problems will be Auba's problem not Arsenal's problem.

2.) 13 Feb 2021 14:05:54
I don`t know but most teams I would say rely on two possibly three players to get their goals and some rely heavily on just two. Kane and Son, Salah Mane some just one Vardy Calvert Lewin Watkins (all scoring goals) and play accordingly as you have to have a plan. We have set up the last couple of seasons to have Auba and Laca to score the goals with others like Pepe and Saka weighing in. For whatever reason whether Auba`s or Arsenal`s Auba is not scoring enough and that becomes a problem when you are setting up and relying on his goals. Where I do agree is players like Willian Xhaka Ceballos should contribute more. However Auba`s goal return is a stark difference to what he has scored before . The more this season plays out for me personally I`m not too fussed now what we do ( always want us to win though ) but want a good transfer window and raring to go next season with Partey and Tierney fully fit Saliba back plus any signing/ s COYG.

3.) 13 Feb 2021 16:10:08
I am going to watch tomorrow's game because of Saka ERS and Martinelli as I enjoy watching those 3 players and Tierney play, if any of the rest put in a performance, happy days 😂.

I can longer just watch out of habit simply hoping I won't be left frustrated and kicking myself for wasting my time and money yet again, I've had to find positive reasons to watch Arsenal again and in those 4 players provide I have found my that positive reasons me 🤗 regardless if we win lose or draw 🖒.

4.) 13 Feb 2021 17:41:53
I watch the Arsenal no matter how good or bad

Their my club and I will support them whatever

5.) 13 Feb 2021 19:10:09
Fair play Mark mate, to each thier own.
For me personally I don't feel in the slightest disloyal not watching if I think it will leave me frustrated and unhappy, it's not as if the result depends on my watching it 😂

There was a time I watched The Arsenal at every possible opportunity but from 2014 to today I've been slowly losing my passion for the way Arsenal operates.

Martinelli Saka ERS Tierney have given me a renewed reason to watch as they are young exciting and most importantly delivering the goods on a regular basis, and that's so different from what we've become used to they are worth the watch.

6.) 13 Feb 2021 19:33:02
I wasn’t having a dig at anyone John, I can remember the 60s when I use to go week in week out and you think this dire mate.
I remember going to away games on a midweek where you’d be lucky to 300 gooners turn up
I remember going to Scarborough away where you couldn’t see the joint in your mouth because it was that foggy

Ahhh the good old days.

7.) 13 Feb 2021 20:10:15
I know your weren't having a dig mate, I respect some fans watch no matter what and also that others will only watch if they get pleasure from watching, there is no right or wrong it's just how we feel at that time.

I remember going to see the midweek marathon FA cup ties v Sheffield United at filbert Street Leicester during the late 70s mate, we went in my mates old vauxhall viva :-) can't remember if we went 2 or 3 times, but I do remember the atmosphere was brilliant even on a foggy cold Tuesday night in Leicester :-)

8.) 13 Feb 2021 20:18:00
And Patsy Jennings made one of the best saves I’ve ever seen.

9.) 13 Feb 2021 20:44:50
Funny in them days we were much a cup team and pretty unimpressive league wise but I was 16 and lapped up everything Arsenal, I guess the only thing that's different now to then is important not 16 :- (.

10.) 13 Feb 2021 21:43:16
That was Sheffield Wednesday 62 I remember them also and l went to the final game we won 2-0, great days.

11.) 13 Feb 2021 22:09:45
Oh yes so it was Banbury mate:-) , I know they were 3rd division back then :-) , well I think I know anyway 😎.

07 Feb 2021 10:19:58
Literally a week ago top 6 was mooted even top 4! We play Wolves where we played our best football of the season until a red card penalty situation changed the game. We play an in form Villa in a game that had draw written all over it . We weren`t whacked 5-0 5-0 . On another week we beat Wolves and draw with Villa. To suggest in a week we have disintegrated to a rubbish team is bowlocks. If we go with this knee jerk reaction we`d have sacked and reinstated Arteta 5 times. We have no right to top 4 . It`s simple really MA in or out! If you think we are improving and I mean team players out attitude etc then surely he deserves time. Don`t change your mind on a game by game basis! Me MA in COYG We are also a much much better team with KT in it.

1.) 07 Feb 2021 11:39:55
Well said Sussex.

2.) 07 Feb 2021 11:55:46
Out for me always had been allegri in.

3.) 07 Feb 2021 12:13:48
100% agree Sussex.

4.) 07 Feb 2021 13:44:25
Same as Welsh, always been an 'Out' for me too. We were (are) a sinking ship and needed some steady hands in to improve us and get us back up the table, not a manager with no real experience.

I am always happy to be proved wrong and I hope Arteta does succeed and I'm reminded of this.

Have we really improved with him though? I would argue not, and are actually a little worse than we were under Emery.

{Ed047's Note - defensively for me we have improved and our goals against suggest that and defence is where any clubs needs to start.

It’s further forward where we need things to click as they did in the first half against Wolves, that and putting the ball in the net a lot more than we are.

We also at the moment need to be able to play our best 11 every game as when we need players to step up they don’t always do it!

5.) 07 Feb 2021 14:16:11
Hang on a minute Villa were played off the park by WHU, hardly in form.

6.) 07 Feb 2021 14:17:21
MA can’t take this squad any further, thank you for your services but .

7.) 07 Feb 2021 14:26:22
We have dropped 10 points from our red card games, 10 more points puts us in fourth. I obviously don't know if we would have gotten those points, but would have been nice.

I wanted MA before we got Emery. It's time for the players to step up, like the kids have, and in recent weeks Pepe and Xhaka has been outstanding since his red card.

We really miss Teirney.

8.) 07 Feb 2021 14:38:09
Personally I agree with what Epping said yesterday football is an escapism from everything that happening in the real world right now, and whether people feel positive or negative about Arsenal they should feel free to post their feelings.
Nothing wrong with disagreeing and debating with the way people see and feel about things as long as you respect others rights not to see things and feel the same about things as you do.

Personally it's the humour the banter, fun, sharing, and swapping of opinions i enjoy regardless of whether I agree or disagree with how others see or feel about things.

To each their own, and that even includes Mrs Malaga Whitehouse ❤.

9.) 07 Feb 2021 16:27:35
But yet again Banbury you have taken the knee jerk reaction ! Taken the Villa West Ham game in isolation . You have since the beginning of the season or end of last wanted to give MA 2 years! Then he had to go during our poor run then a WEEK ago you suggested TOP SIX was on the cards so it was MA in I guess then 2 games later he`s rubbish and has to go! I was castigated by you for saying top 4 was on the cards ( during our bad run ) i paraphrase - please bring some reality to the table - but you waited until we were doing well then mentioned top six and have even changed your mind since! I`ve always been MA in and that`s the beauty of it we are poles apart on how we get there but we want the same thing for the Arsenal! COYG PS Kudos to the EDs for finishing the "hate" and Bell End thread - no need for that.

10.) 07 Feb 2021 16:34:23
My huge issue is that Arsenal are one of the biggest football clubs in the world, and the football side of things are being run by people completely new to their positions.
I personally believe that we now have a starting 11 that can compete for the top 4, and whilst this season is a write off due to various reasons I expect us to be showing the kind of form that shows that we will be challenging next season.
If MA and Edu can't show that by the end of the season then they should be moved on because there I'm sure there are proven managers out there who can deliver.

11.) 07 Feb 2021 17:47:29
Ì agree Sussex, hate is far too strong, I personally decided to give the post a miss because of the use of that word.
Not rate, not want even dislike but to hate anyone is an extremely strong emotion and I'd have thought you'd need a hugely more devastating reason than football to hate anyone.

12.) 07 Feb 2021 17:47:47
Forget Edu he’s not my concern but let it be said that myself and Sussex have always said and continue to say that MA is the man for the job

He’s passionate, committed and will make things happen given time, if he doesn’t and we get relegated I’ll hold my hands up and say I’m wrong ( then blame Sussex) 🤣.

13.) 07 Feb 2021 17:57:09
I’m used to being blamed in my household 373 so no change there but thank you for your loyalty 😂😂 COYG.

{Ed047's Note - 337 loyal, when did that happen

14.) 07 Feb 2021 18:07:34
I told you Ed, it was one night, I was drunk, it was a mistake, you need to get over it now 😂😂.

{Ed047's Note - I’m still 💔 mate! 😢😂

15.) 07 Feb 2021 18:25:31
337- at what point would you say Arteta needs to be replaced?
If it continues that we win a couple of games and then lose a couple would you be happy with him continuing into next season?

16.) 07 Feb 2021 19:08:52
Fair enough to all who want MA out we all have our own opinion. If we should change manager now I believe it would set us back even further, because the squad is not yet rebuilt. A new manager may not get the chance to bring in the number of players he would like to play his style of football.

We have some players who can push on in the next two seasons of so. Pepe needs some work and strengthen up so do Saka and ESR.

As I said before the teams are going to knock us off the ball as Villa did with Saka. Marvelous Nakamba came in for D Luiz just to do that including Grealish who should of got a card earlier for persistent foaling.

Xhaka as improved but his game is more on par with Partey but not his level. We need someone beside Partey who his not of playing the ball but to break up play with the ball and play the simplest or nearest pass.

I think MA is trying to manage the squad but players like KT will have to manage himself as well. He knows he’s a little brittle so he may need to learn to hold back a bit if he wants to play every game to create a legacy at the club.

Gabriel is quite passionate as well but needs to mature to shake being erratic.

That’s my two pennies worth 😎 🤔.

{Ed047's Note - do you think Torriera could be the one to play next to Partey?

17.) 07 Feb 2021 19:37:39
He would certainly do a better job at it than Xhaka and Eleney. He seems to suffer from lack of confidence when not played or when used differently.

{Ed047's Note - would really like to see him come back and play next to Partey, get a consistent run in the team and see how it goes.

He looked quality when he first came.

18.) 07 Feb 2021 19:42:09
MA is not the issue in my mind, he was left with a load of overpaid average players and no money, he and his team have somehow managed to get rid of most of those players off the wage bill and sign top quality players to strengthen in the positions needed, as well as being through a very exiting bunch of youngsters.

He needs this season and the first half of next season at least in my opinion before I start wanting him out. Some on here I’m guessing are juveniles that just simply post “ Arteta out” with no knowledge of the club or the finances. AFC is not a kids Sunday league team where one of the dads is manager and you can just swap him for your dad half way through building the team.

19.) 07 Feb 2021 20:09:03
I would have back but he would have to improve on disguising how the foals.

337 I didn’t want to condescending I just think we get too emotional too easily with every couple of wins or losses and not analysing each game enough and the teams around us or where we want to get to.

We still need a couple of seasons recruiting and moving on correctly and we seems to be doing some of that right so far. I use Chelsea and Man U for example they seems to have a better squad maybe just needing one player each. Anyone of these two teams could risk sacking their manager and still not affected badly. Bringing in a top manager who will only bring in a player or two in a complete season.

But equally AFC is not an old boys club where one of our own be made excuses for that an outsider would not be afforded 377 mate.

I think we have to assess things in the summer and be honest about where Arteta has taken us, this season is a little weird but next season fingers eyes toes and ears crossed the fans will be back in full force and normal service will be resumed, the last thing we need is to be debating Arteta and why we are mid table.

It was was it was! Let`s not forget we should have been 3 or 4 up before the red card. Looking forward let`s hope Tierney and Gabriel come in and apart from Leno think that is our strongest team. Am hoping Ryan fit though. It does make me smile though that Luiz makes a rick and Xhaka gets a shellacking! Maybe I missed something but thought he did fine last night! Some very odd results this season and they will carry on but our performance 11 v 11 was excellent last night promising moving forward COYG.

1.) 03 Feb 2021 11:32:40
Sussex mate people have it in both player so even if they have good games they will not see it.

2.) 03 Feb 2021 12:32:17
It`s called confirmation bias Welsh! I watched Match of The Day just now and both pundits called it accidental but a penalty! It`s the same with handball it now doesn`t have to be deliberate. Luiz`s crime was to be out of position not hacking down a player mindlessly. I don`t know for sure but I suspect Arteta has been protecting Gabriel after contracting C.V. and all the time we had the 2nd best defensive record he kept it the same. 337 I did see mistakes by Luiz v United but also two or three tackles stops v a United team that just whacked Southampton for NINE. I`m pretty sure Luiz has cost you in a lucrative bet somewhere - let it go man :) COYG.

3.) 03 Feb 2021 12:47:38
Well said mate, nobody seems to mention how many times partey gave the ball away againts Utd, but once they have it in for a player that’s it

4.) 03 Feb 2021 13:22:55
I will let it go once I’ve sent Luiz a strongly worded email lol, partey giving the ball away that high up the pitch is not the same, Luiz and holding are our last line of defence and as others point out his mistakes are constant and cost us games, as for putting a few tackles in against Utd. Well done David for doing what you’re paid £200k a week to do!
And Southampton were thumped because they were down to 9 players which we showed we are not that soft any more and do not get spanked whatever the situation.

5.) 03 Feb 2021 14:09:20
For me I am more forgiving of centre halves and Goalkeepers because as you say any mistakes from them can cause goals (speaking for the Centre Back Union)

We as fans put more pressure on these positions yet forgive lazy play up the field. It`s not like we pay them twice as much it`s the other way round.

Had Saka finished and Laca done his job and stayed onside 2-0 different game. I don`t subscribe to that thought but hopefully you see my point.

Don`t worry you probably only have to the end of the season to enjoy Luiz anyway COYG I blame Jon Sammels.

6.) 03 Feb 2021 14:15:25
Did also mean to say regarding Holding having Luiz`s back why was he helping Hector not closing down their centre forward? Damn you`ve got me having a go at the centre backs now COYG.

{Ed047's Note - 🤣🤣

Hi Sussex mate, conformation bias is really difficult to overcome, all of us look for reasons to support what we already think is true and immediately reject all evidence to the contrary, it's a human condition.
Just being aware of and accepting that we all do it is probably the best we can do.
Let's face it we all believe Arsenal football Club are the best club in the world and nothing is going to change our minds on that no matter what evidence, stats or reasons any other fans put in front of us.

8.) 03 Feb 2021 20:06:20
I only know about this bias 62 because I don’t think I’m an idiot but my family happily confirm that I am 😂😂 COYG.

9.) 03 Feb 2021 20:39:38
Sometimes you've just got to accept that very few people have an eye for genius Sussex mate.

I'm yet to meet a single one myself :-)

10.) 04 Feb 2021 03:02:55
A single one as in not in a relationship G69? I mean I’m a genius, but not single unfortunately ( well my dog thinks I’m a genius) try opening a can of dog food with paws 🤣.

11.) 04 Feb 2021 12:19:14
Good point 733 mate, have you ever tried opening a tin of dog food with a side of Salmon? I have several times and trust me it doesn't work! Although you can open a side of Salmon with a tin of dog food strangely enough, weird or what?

Hi ed002 have we been and are we still looking at Ryan Bertrand and would Saints interest in Maitland-Niles have any bearing on any possible move . Thanks COYG.

{Ed002's Note - As far as I know Southampton and Bertrand are looking to agree a new contract.}

We`ll get him to hang upside down as Shilton used to. What a keeper especially at Forest not so good v Poland COYG.

Lot`s of Brighton fans down here my Son included are annoyed he`s not playing in the first team let alone being third choice. Great back up for Leno - seen him live a few time at Amex and never got the jitters. Only thing is he is quite short at 6 feet for a keeper. Good choice me thinks COYG.

Genuinely interested, as the `worst attack ever` are you suggesting we sell all of Willian Pepe Auba and Laca or some of? Obviously very poor so far this season but haven`t been fairly recently. Or would you sack MA? COYG.

I miss the old analogy days G62 not these Stat days! For whatever reason the stats say I refuse to believe Gabriel and Partey are to blame for poor form or great form due to their absence. The whole season has been erratic and not just for us . Having said that I`ve been MA in all season but the fact that some players seem to have downed tools ( disgraceful by the way ) usually means curtains for the manager. Still can`t help but get excited ( not in a Callum sort of way ) about Tierney Saka ESR Gabriel Saliba Partey Martinelli Leno ish plus hopefully Oedegaard / Aouar just need the experienced guys Auba Laca Bellerin to seriously up their attitude and game. We have a top four team/ squad and a flip of a coin whether it`s MA in charge. Personally think it`s either MA or Auba / Laca / Pepe to leave and Balogun probably staying hints towards MA staying COYG.

Genuine question! Obviously some on here possibly most think we have no chance in Europa, with derogatory comments but if, and in my opinion a big but not impossible if, we win the Europa League how do you celebrate? Is it wow how lucky was MA and or the players, we shouldn`t have won it, opposition were rubbish, the ref etc or would credit be given that we did well and deserved it? Or don`t / won`t you celebrate? Seems a bit pointless and soulless to celebrate a manager and team You wanted gone to me and all too logical which football has never been for me. COYG.
