ED002, good afternoon from India .
You might have answered this in different ways but please can you tell me the players we are looking for a defensive midfielder? And if we have approached anyone other than Martin Zubimendi and if any talks are going on with teams/ players regarding defensive midfield?

With Liverpool supposedly looking to pay the release clause for zubamenti I wonder if that'll impact merino leaving.

{Ed002's Note - Santiago Gimenez (S) Having another good season at Feyenoord and attracting interest of Chelsea, Lille, Spurs, Real Madrid, Napoli and Eintracht Frankfurt. He has become the first choice Harry Kane replacement for Spurs after they lost out on their preferred option last summer but not first choice for Chelsea or Real Madrid - although don't discount either. Spurs have an advantage that Feyenoord are interested in a Spurs player, Barcelona may offer a wildcard option following a discussion between Deco and someone they are trying to recruit. Arsenal sent scouts but have a preferred option. Others, such as Marseille, Crystal Palace and West Ham can be discounted. Lille and Eintracht Frankfurt would only be viable if they make significant sales and others drop out. Cost could be pretty high - they will look for perhaps €55M - ending interest of most of these clubs. Don't discount Napoli who are planning for life after Osimhen. I expect Spurs to push.}

Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea have sent scouts with Arsenal declaring an interest with his club. Bayern Munich see the cost of his release clause as too high. Real Sociedad may look to refusing a transfer unless his buy out clause is met in full.}

Waiting for further assessment of the injury Gora but looking like a meniscus injury with a lenghty spell on the sidlines. 3 to 4 months.
Rumours of an ACL injury but usually they are picked up quite quickly, hence Mings and Militao having a diagnosis straight away. If it were ACL then 6-9 months.
Devastating for us ?.

You have to have your cut off point and this should be it. It is a more than fair offer for a player entering the last year of his contract.

He's being sold because they have a bunch of unhappy players and only some of them have clubs knocking on the door.
Chelsea need to sell some players and get some wages off the books also.
If Ancelotti, Pep and Arteta think he's good enough then so be it.
Nobody in that current Chelsea squad is playing anywhere near their potential.
Havertz in this Arteta/ Arsenal team will be class.

I`m with you Glenn - pretty sure Edu and MA don`t just wake up and go yep let's just blow £60 mill on rubbish! It`s their job ( at stake too) and they`ve improved transfer wise. I read a stat we were about 5 goals behind City and they had Haaland! And I think they scored less with Haaland! . Havertz can play RW and AM and cover as CF. Cover for Saka and MO and GJ. Not buying for goals but for assists and cover. Decent international goal return and assists. However goals not our issue - we lost league against Pool ( scored twice) Hammers ( scored twice) both away and Southampton ( scored three ) . Happy with Havertz but on condition we get Rice and or Caicedo as think if we don`t get Havertz surely we could afford those two - if they want to come. They will prevent goals which is as important as scoring them (Defenders Union) COYG PS Buy a right back and free up White as CB cover Fresneda £20mill anyone.
