Apologies if this has been asked/ answered already.

Seeing a lot since the tie with Rennes that we have taken the opportunity to discuss the transfer of Ismaili Sarr? Any truth in this or just more tabloid click bait.

Cheers.

madale

{Ed002's Note - Ismaila Sarr (RW) was watched earlier in the season before Arsenal moved on a well respected scout. There was certainly no discussion about the player whilst any Europa league tie was being played.}

1.) 17 Mar 2019 16:17:16
Just want to say well done Ed002, you said that you doubt Monchi will join and now he’s joined Sevilla, good work from you again! Does this just make it more likely that Overmars will join instead?

{Ed002's Note - Marc Overmars is certainly next on the list and I understand would be open to the job - but he needs to accept constraints based on performance. If I were Arsenal I would step back and have a lttle rethink to make sure the right person comes in. Arsenal are built on consistency, and need to continue that.}

2.) 17 Mar 2019 21:21:42
Ed I don’t know what power these guys hold but I saw something like Overmars saying if he left his first signing will be De Ligt. Will he really hold this power? If not at arsenal what about at Ajax?

{Ed002's Note - MdL won’t be moving to Arsenal.}

3.) 18 Mar 2019 07:55:50
Such a shame things went wrong with Sven.

17 Aug 2016 20:26:25
Been reading today of reports that our attentions have turned to Gimenez of Atletico? Any truth Edds?

Im sure its just more tabloid talk as Mustafi deal stalls. but one can dream we will get a CB in soon!

madale

{Ed001's Note - he would cost a lot more. Not going to happen.}

1.) 18 Aug 2016 08:04:33
that's obvious, though what is concerning is the Jonny Evans rumours won't go away. Ed. please, please tell me this is just paper talk.

28 Mar 2016 20:27:37
Anyone heard much about this Domingos Quina? promising youth we've apparently signed on scholarship until he can sign fully when he's 17.

Also anyone know much about him? any good?

madale

1.) 29 Mar 2016 00:21:31
All u know is that he's a highly rated attacking midfielder, 16 years old and Portugal under 17 international.

Sounds promising, fingers crossed :)

03 Nov 2014 13:18:52
Hi Edd's Any truth in links with Fabian Schar? Sounds like a typical Wenger signing, young upcoming and a CB which everybody knows we need!

Thanks in Advance.

madale

{Ed002's Note - I would not think so.}

Welbeck currently having medical

madale

1.) Im usually a positive gooner

I think this is so depressing

Almost laughable!!

2.) Has to be good news, far better than what we have. Think we will see the best of him

3.) Oh joy. another reject who can not score for toffee

4.) Welbeck is better than what we have. But we could have done so much better. Bony would have been better in my opinion. welbeck misses the goal so much it's sad

5.) No he isn't.

6.) He wouldn't be in my top 100 signings however i'd rather have him now than not. Scored 10 league goals from out wide last year. Playing up top we might get some goals from him, he has a good work rate. It's him or nothing which is a real sad situation to be in

Odegaard Injured, looks a bad one to me, I imagine will be out for at least 3-4 weeks.

How do we line up against spurs, and was this coming after last season having been lucky with minimal injuries.

Worried about this weeks coming fixtures now.

madale

1.) 10 Sep 2024 10:16:50
I’m not bothered, we have a good enough squad to cope.

2.) 10 Sep 2024 10:47:37
Spurs and City, could be tricky!

{Ed014's Note - time for the boys to stand up and be counted Sally.

3.) 10 Sep 2024 11:20:18
Agreed Ed

Just put Jorginho and Partey in the middle and put that young lad ( can’t remember his name) in rm and they’ll do the business

We are sorted in defence and up front.

{Ed014's Note - agree mate and take it you mean Ethan Nwaneri.

Not sure if he will, but what a chance to shine that would be!

4.) 10 Sep 2024 11:58:17
I’m looking forward to Sunday I want to be in these tricky tests

How’s it going 14.

{Ed014's Note - me too mate and very well thanks.

How’s life with you and yours?

5.) 10 Sep 2024 13:18:54
Have to deal with it - just a nuisance it`s our three best midfielders out at once. I`d go Partey Timber and Havertz with Jesus if fit up front or if not Tross or Sterling false nining. Confident regardless FOYS.

6.) 10 Sep 2024 14:17:59
Yeah good mate

Can’t wait till Sunday.

7.) 10 Sep 2024 14:23:35
Yeah I like the sound of that Sussex mate.

8.) 10 Sep 2024 14:45:02
I'd prefer Jorginho, Timber and Havertz. I think Jorginho would be better at coaching a new-look midfield through the game.

9.) 10 Sep 2024 21:14:08
Shame we no longer have ESR in our numbers, personally I think he is the ideal Ode replacement when Ode is injured or in need of resting. Not a criticism of the ESR sale just expressing a personal opinion.

10.) 12 Sep 2024 03:48:35
Good point Sussex as Timber looks a very athletic player. Could see him covering well if we put Zinchenko in at LB. Would have loved to see Calafiori get a start but he's injured too!

Tross up front as the false 9 and Havertz at no.10 would be my preference, we're at home and I think Jorginho and Partey together would be too conservative.

26 Sep 2017 08:18:32
Good win last night, lucky in first half but much better and controlled second half and was exciting to see how well alexis and laca linke up can't wait for more of it to come!

One thing irritated me though, Wenger, why take of lacazette with 10 mins to go when he could get a hat-trick? Surely keep him on and let him try get a 3rd and go for golden boot?

madale

1.) 26 Sep 2017 08:28:03
I thought he should’ve kept him on. But then games are coming quick maybe it’s best to rest him when possible.

2.) 26 Sep 2017 08:39:35
The game was won and with 10 mins or so to go, Wenger made the sensible decision to withdraw Lacazette and Sanchez, opposed to running the risk of injury to these two players that had been subject to some heavy tackling from Pullis's usual physical team. With a heavy schedule ahead both this week and during the International break, when Lacazette may play for France. A hat-trick and the golden boot are of little consequence.

3.) 26 Sep 2017 08:56:00
All players won't play well in every game, Mustafi was excellent v Chelsea but poor again last night but when the side is balanced and players suited to their positions and the job your asking then to do you can quite often carry 1 possibly 2 players not at their best on the day.
Last night's starting 11 and formation is in my opinion the best Arsene has picked in a very very long time.
No square pegs in round holes no obvious weaknesses that could have been avoided.
Ozil isn't suited to this Arsenals most effective team despite being a wonderful player and Iwobi really does need to go out on loan somewhere as he always looks out of his depth at the moment.
Tougher games ahead so injuries allowing give this side it's best chance of bedding in together and getting a good solid understanding.
The most successful premier league teams in recent years chose stability over rotation and keeping players happy.

Few things i need to get off my chest.

first of all the protests and negative energy around club is toxic and what player or manager would want to join a club where there is such negativity and negativity around a manager that has helped make us the big club we are today.

Also seeing kids with Wenger out signs and taking part in protests that arguably only support arsenal because of what Wenger has achieved for us?

We are all entitled to our own opinions and I too believe its time for him to walk at end of the season and a fresh new approach is needed. however I feel the protests, banners and this proposed plane flight is unclassy!

madale

1.) 13 Mar 2017 16:05:04
You can't win or lose whatever you do. Some people want wenger some don't and some protest and some dont. But what is worrying is some of the rhetoric coming out and spin. Mr wenger on tues night said, to put it into perspective, only a 100 people protested outside the ground, so out of 60000, 100 isn't very big. Is that how he is going to judge the feeing of the supporters. Some don't protest or sing or shout but its pretty obvious that there are more than 100 out of 60 are not happy. I think he ought to judge like us, have we improved over the last 10 years or not on the field, has he bought the right players, has he kept ahead of the game and come to a an honest assessment.

12 Jan 2017 11:43:36
Great to see Koscielny, Le Coq and Giroud signing new deals, however don't you think its a bit worrying we can announce all these new contracts and the ones we actually need are yet to materialise?

To me looks like neither Ozil or Sanchez will sign.

madale

1.) 12 Jan 2017 14:38:45
I think its because they are all french and it was easier to understand them in negotiations with wenger.

2.) 12 Jan 2017 14:56:14
I know mate who really wants kos anyway

3.) 12 Jan 2017 15:12:53
Steve you are aware the agents handle contract talks right 🙄

4.) 12 Jan 2017 17:09:04
D16 now you are getting all serious.

5.) 12 Jan 2017 19:51:33
Oh please I was being about as serious as our title challenge

6.) 12 Jan 2017 19:56:56
Ha ha, what you trying to say.

7.) 12 Jan 2017 20:00:28

8.) 12 Jan 2017 23:14:48
I'm saying I'm only serious august to November/ December time 😂

28 Dec 2016 11:24:38
From watching us this season, and don't get me wrong Monreal had a great last season but i feel we need a better LB.

Do we have any interest in bringing someone new in, January maybe?

Liking the looks of Amavi, Gaya or even Kurzawa?

madale

1.) 28 Dec 2016 11:49:51
Monreal had better cover from Sanchez last season, who works back, whereas Iwobi can be lazy. I though that last season we needed better options at LB and still am of the same opinion, although I can't see us signing one in this window.

2.) 28 Dec 2016 13:24:27
I doubt we will see any established players in any position arrive in January, maybe a couple for the future if that.
Players will be returning from injuries which I have a sneaky feeling Arsene will discribe as being " like new signings " :-)

3.) 28 Dec 2016 13:57:35
Hi Gunner62, We have quite a full squad this season when fit and unless we unload a player or two I can't see us making any signings during this window. Perhaps in the summer, we could sign a young talented keeper such as Pickford to replace Ospina and eventually become number one. The LB position is up for grabs, as neither of our current options are good enough and Gibbs contract is running down. I would also let Mertesacker move on, we can see how Chambers and Holding have progressed and we have 3 decent CB's. The DM options look good. We have to review Wilshere, Ox and Walcott in the summer. We also have to look at the situation regarding Ozil and Sanchez, although I wish we had the ability to tie top players to long term contracts. I must admit that Daniel Levy down the road seems far more competent at doing this and cashing in when top players force a move. It's clear that if the Toot continue ti fail to win anything the coach and better players will move on in time, but at least the Toot get top prices for them.

4.) 28 Dec 2016 16:02:35
Hi RG mate, so much depends on who is our manager next season as to what's happens with who, if Arsene stays I think we will see possibly 1 or 2 Xhaka standard punts come in possibly at LB and LMF but I think attacking bigger names might prove as difficult as last summer was when it came to getting the best players to even consider Joining us.
If Arsene decided to call it a day at Arsenal it would depend on who takes over as to what directions we take, an Eddie Howe type up and coming type manager I think might persist with Theo Gibbs Ox and co while if a really top name manager came in I think only Cech Belerin Mustafi Kos Le Coq Caz Sanchez and Ozil would be certain to be wanted by him. Just my opinion though.

5.) 28 Dec 2016 16:19:19
I think we should all be prepared for us not getting anyone in Jan. The faint glimmer of draxler is now gone and it looks as though PSG have paid the asking price and he probably didn't want the move either.

6.) 28 Dec 2016 16:47:15
Draxler for me is all about potential and I would like to see us going down the proven tried and tested route for I bit, would Draxler really have been that big an improvement on Welbeck Iwobi Ox or Theo? Potentially I guess he could have been :-)

Issue with Rashford loan is we would have to cancel either Neto or Sterling loan to allow it, as I believe we are only allowed 2 domestic loans.

So I presume, if a loan, it would be one from abroad.

Could also view as a Win Win for Emery if he selects Ozil.

Play Ozil and if we win and Ozil plays well keep him in squad for Saturday and no fans or press can moan about his exclusion OR he plays, does nothing and then Emery is proven right in not using him as much this season?

madale

{Ed047's Note - he and Ozil fell out at Baku when Ozil correctly told him he wasn’t a coach, Emery has done the same at Seville with a player whose name escapes me and I’m pretty sure Thiago Silva at PSG, as in singled them out.

I think Ozil is happy to wait for Emery to be moved on.
