The way things are shaping up I can see Leicester City finishing above Arsenal for the second time in five seasons.

Fulham were last seasons top spenders outside the big 6 plus when Bredon spent big at Liverpool he bought Benteke Super Mario and Ricky Lambert and we all know how they worked out.
Spending alone bring success or United would be champions.

Raya is an upgrade, plain and simple Arsenal are acting like a top club now. They will both stay for a year and then Ramsdale will be sold to an Everton or Villa type team next summer, assuming Raya isn't a complete flop.

we could offer Kane a realistic platform to break the PL scoring record and few trophies before he retires.

If we act like chelsea and utd we just broadcast that we are mugs in all future negotiations. Once the precedent is set then its a permanent problem. i'm fine with a bit of faffing.

Rice and Osimhen. Make it happen Edu!

Kokcu and Fresneda to round out the squad and a ton of sales to balance books.

I agree that we don't need both - the price being quoted is ridiculous in both cases, but of the two its Rice all day long. I can get behind that premium for an English player, still young, with tons of prem experience, never injured and a club captain as well. If we felt we needed a 2nd body in that #6/ #8 role then it would be SMS for significantly cheaper.

For me the perfect summer is:
Saliba 0
Rice 100 (long term #6)
Kokcu 50 (long term #8)
A right back (Boey/ Fresneda linked) 25

Thats 175, maybe 200 if we also get SMS.

But the real game changer for this team would be Osimhen. With the likely sales of Balogun (Napoli interested. ) , ESR, Tierney and Xhaka raising in the region of 125 it could be doable. Caicedo won't move the needle - but this guy would be an Henry-like signing for us.

#1 memory of him is Birmingham City away in 2008.
He sat down in a strop. Was captain at the time.
Not one to talk about mentality.

City will be much weaker next season with so many core players of their squad leaving. They are replacing with quality but a rebuild takes time.

If not this season, its never imo.

Same as last season, with Zinc stepping inside to form a box midfield in possession. don't think there is a re-invention of the wheel here its still the Pep system, just an evolution of the personnel to align with the age-profile of the rest of the team.

Kai (24) replacing Xhaka (30)
Rice (24) replacing Partey (30)

Whether they both leave this summer or next season matters little.

Other signings [Timber, Lavia, Guler? ] to address depth issues which were apparent last season and will become more acute with CL footy.

bookies odds have moved to 20-1on, whilst Cities have drifted out to 7-1. If that's anything to go by its done and dusted.

His value on transfermarkt is 60m and that's about right for his profile.

Comp Played Goals Assists
Bundesliga 118 36 25
Premier League 91 19 10
International 36 13 13

Paying for Potential would be coughing up 88m for a player valued at 15m on transfermarkt playing in a fringe european league that nobody had heard of 6 months before.
