United need to win the Champions League for Mourinho to carry on as he is, if they win it the fans will let the football go for this season but if they go out in this round or the quarter finals, Jose could be in real trouble.

The FA cup? No chance as it wasn't enough for LVG to keep his job at United and United fans seem even less impressed with Jose right now than they ever were with LVG, and they weren't exactly upset with his departure.

Where would they be without David De Gea. Credit that they're still 2nd in the league but an awful footballing side and could easily end up next to us outside the top four.

We think we got mugged off with Xhaka but Pogba beats that hands down.

It’s funny watching Sanchez run around still the totally frustrated figure he was with us, waving his arms in exasperation. Thank god for the £500,000 a week.

I’d run round like a headless chicken for 500k as well stoner. Only difference is at united he doesn’t have the quality in the attacking third around him.

I’d do a lot of things for £500,000 a week mate but probably not as extreme as the stuff Sharpie would do! 😉.

I think the list of things I wouldn't do would be much shorter.

I wouldn't eat haggis
I wouldn't eat black pudding
I wouldn't let Diane Abbott do my accounts.

More in line with your initial post 62, I’m not sure what they’d do with him. I certainly think he’s lost whatever made him good first time around.

He hasn’t recovered from the Chelsea debacle yet for me, he’s spent an awful lot of money and with no real result, by that I mean a real trophy, League or CL, added to no realistic challenge for the league.

So I hope they keep him to be honest.

Haggis is lush mate. And I probably wouldn’t play for United for 1-/ 2 a mill 😋.

Thoughts on a new defensive midfield pairing of Doucoure' and Lamina? In my opinion these players would provide a return to the type of players that were so successful in the early Wenger years. The interesting thing is that despite having options in creative/ attacking midfiled players, we are still being linked with more of the same type of players, such as Fekir, when we need tall, athletic DM's.

I do believe we are also linked with players of that type. We better take kante off that list if they have to be tall as well . I personally think we need a player of fekir ability to take the possition of iwobi. A DM, GK, couple of defenders and another attacking mid for me.

It's a waiting game in my opinion, the £200 million Arsene has spent between signing Mesut and PEA has achieved nothing towards making us competitive again in fact we've lost ground massively in the title race and dropped out of top 4 contention too now.
I don't see the point in spending more money on Arsenes watch as it just seems like a waste of resources that his successor might or might not be able to use more beneficially.
Arsene isn't going to adress all our problem positions in one summer when he's refused to see and adress all of them over the last 14 years so what's the point in spending a fortune on 1 CB or a Keeper or a DM if your not going to do the whole job?
Wait and see what Arsene does this summer and if he goes then we can all start looking forward with renewed hope and optimism but if he stays then the only thing to do is keep what resources we have and simply wait a big longer.

Wenger has a net spend of virtually zero over the last two windows and has left the squad short, if you exclude Cazorla and young players just getting into the first team squad. We only have 20 first team players, which is 5 short of the permitted 25, over 21, players that are permitted. Clearly we need two DM's and at least one CB. In respect of CB's Mertesacker retires at the end of the season, Chambers should be sold (simply not good enough) , Holding needs a season on loan playing regularly and Monreal is not a CB, so we need two CB's for next season, Oh yes, and a keeper or two!

All very true RG but what difference will it make if Arsene spends or doesn't spend?
Can you really see Arsene adressing all those areas you mention this summer?
Never mind what you me or anyone thinks he should do but do you really think he's actually going to do?

If you need to make a good impression at say an interview but don't own a shirt tie suit and dress shoes is it really worth just buying the suit and wearing trainers and t-shirt with it :-)

I think the hope is now that Wenger doesn't do the spending anymore, Sven Mislintat will source players and Raul Sanllehi will try to get them.
Wenger has proven himself in the last 10 years to no longer have the ability to firstly see where we're in need of reinforcements, and secondly get the correct players for that position, Xhaka is just the latest example of this, he came 5 or so years too late and wasn't even good enough.
